How to update the plugin?

Updating through FTP

Simply overwrite the plugin files with the new version files via FTP, then deactivate and activate back the plugin.

Updating via the WordPress Installer

Set the ‘Keep Settings’ to ON in the General Settings in the plugin’s admin page. Deactivate and delete the plugin, then install the new version as a new plugin (Add New). With turning on the ‘Keep Settings’ option, the plugin will keep the configuration datas, so you don’t have to set it up again.

Updating via the built-in Manual Plugin Updater

Navigate to the Update section under the Modal Survey admin page, then simply upload the new version ZIP file, then follow the instructions.

The survey doesn’t save on the admin.

This issue is related with your server configuration. Please contact with your hosting company and ask them about the mod security settings, that might prevent the admin-ajax.php WordPress admin file to work correctly.

How to change the selected state to make it more visible in te survey?

Make sure, you have the default Hover Effect selected on the survey edit screen, then add the following lines to the Custom CSS page under the Modal Survey admin navigation menu:

    background: #fc0303 !important;
}
It is just a sample, you can change the HEX color code with your desired color codes.

The Always Show Next Button option is not selected, but the next button still always displayed. Why?

If you have numeric, open text, select or date answer included into the question or the Optional/Required answers higher than 1, then the next button will be automatically appear. In these cases, it is not possible to directly advance to the next question without confirmation.

The Partipants Page on the admin is slow or doesn’t load at all.

However, the plugin doesn’t has any limits for the results, you have to export and delete them periodically. Your site’s database can’t store unlimited data, therefore it is your responsibility to free up sometimes and keep it clean. It is different how much entries doesn’t causing issues, depends on our hosting performance.

How to set the charts color?

Use the bgcolor parameter in the results shortcode to set the chart color and the second color (black) will be the stroke color:

For bar chart, pie chart, etc. it is possible to add a comma separated list to set the slice/bar colors individually.
