Hello, Love the plugin!
We have a site where we are wanting to filter the post options by a tag. When setting up post option in the layer slider admin is shows the correct preview of the posts required. however when saving the slides are not working and just show the shortcodes [title] etc. If we don’t filter by post options it works however the slides showing are not the latest ones.
We are hosting with WPEngine so thought it was caching but even after clearing object and file cache it still not working.
The site is http://www.sustainablehomes.co.uk
Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately we cannot troubleshoot the problem from the front-end. Please set us up a temporary WP login so we can look into it further. You can send us a private email from our profile page.
Kreatura Support Team
do you support Wistia in your the LayerSlider 6 update?
LayerSlider only supports YouTube, Vimeo, and self-hosted HTLM5 videos/audios out of the box.
At the moment we do not support other media players since those solutions have their own distinct APIs to control media playback. However, users with web development experience can use the LayerSlider API to detect slider events and run custom code to control 3rd party media players.
Using the advice of a support ticket I found from another theme creator I changed the name of a slider on the backend going to phpadmin>wp_layerslider. I changed the name of the slider in two places successfully but now in the wp backend my slider shows 0 slides and doesn’t play on the front end. I then went back and changed the name back to the original but still no slides showing. Please help – this is not an easy slider to recreate. Thanks!!
Please disregard, I found the issue.
Thank you for the feedback, glad you could solve it.
After updating to version 6, my slides are messed up. All the slides are shown horizontally as images, instead of slider. You can see it yourself at http://www.bostondesiconnection.com, at the end of page.
Well, never mind. I am using the Amazon S3 to serve wp-content files. For some reason, plugin updated files were not updated at the Amazon S3 server. I manually uploaded the plugin files to Amazon S3, and now everything works fine.
Thank you for letting us know, we’re glad that you could solve the problem.
Upgrading to Version 6 messed up all my slides. All text layers don’t show up anymore. While they are there in the editor and in the preview editor. Tried re-saving the slide with same result. Any ideas?
We did not experience this issue with text layers during testing on our end and no other user reported it so far either. Please show us your site and set up a temporary WP login as well so we can look into it. You can send a private email from our profile page.
I sent you the login, did you check on my website?
Yes, we did and we have replied to your email. Please respond by email from now on, so we can keep the conversation on one line only.
We have replied to your original message.
Hi, since I updated to latest version my layers/slider are not full width anymore. I tried to change the settings to other values without any success. Is there something I don’t know about this update that would affect the “responsive/full width” option? If this cannot be fixed quickly, where could I download the previous version? Thank you. (If you need credentials and/or URL, give me an email so I can send it to you).
You can find the new layouts described in the updated documentation, a lot has changed compared to version 5, you might need to correct some settings. In case the problem persists please show us your site with the slider where we can check this.
We updated LayerSlider Responsive WordPress Slider Plugin to version 6 today. Once the upgrade was completed, the slider image disappeared from our homepage (http://luxurylivingfortlauderdale.com). Previously LayerSlider appeared without any issues.
We cleared the cache for our website and browser. When the website began to load, one could see the spinning symbol off to the left, but nothing loaded.
In the past, one would see the spinning symbol briefly in the middle of the page, then the image would appear.
We disabled all plugins, except LayerSlider, but that did not fix the problem. We ended up having to revert our website to an older version, so the LayerSlider image would appear again.
I’ve searched the comments and read where some folks had a similar problem, but I did not see a solution. Any ideas?
Thank you for your feedback, currently we are looking into the problems users are reporting. We will also release a quickfix if needed.
I recently updated to v6 and for some reason the slider images are now locking to the right hand side of the page. I have gone through everything made another one from scratch thinking it was a v5-v6 issue. the website is https://pinkcaviar.com.au
Everything was working perfectly until the update and I am very confused why this is happening. Can you please help.
We have checked your site and we believe that the issue is related to an invalid CSS. It looks like an earlier version of the LayerSlider’s CSS has been cached and still used. Please clear your cache and try to avoid (by disabling the related option) that the caching plugin compresses the CSS files together.
Hi. Great work on the plugin, but I’m getting the error when posting the Layerslider shortcode “Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_ereg_match() in /home/freepbr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/helpers/phpQuery.php on line 1832”
Could you please show us your site where we can see this ?
For sure. I’ve put the shortcode up on this page: http://freepbr.com/pbr-faq/
It seems the PHP Multibyte String extension is not available on your server and that is causing the error. You will need to contact with your hosting provider and request to install it to solve the problem.
Hi. They said it was installed, but looking at the error message, they say that they would need to upgrade from PHP 5.5 to 5.6 to install MB_regex. Does this make any sense? Should I get them to move ahead and install 5.6 and MB_regex?
LayerSlider WP requires PHP version 5.3 or newer. The mb_ereg_match method that’s causing this issue is available since PHP 4.2. I’m not sure why they would need to install PHP 5.6, but it should be fine if they can solve this issue that way.
Hi, I upgraded from 5.6.10 to 6.0 today but have had to roll back.
Under 5.6.10 I can set the slider with as 100%. Under 6 it will not take a % in slider width. It is requiring a px only. As a result my sliders didn’t upgrade well at all. They were set at the update to 1000px wide and I could not get them to show at 100% width. I have had to roll back. Keen for this to be sorted or be made more clear. Cheers
The layouts and responsive options have drastically changed in version 6. You can now select the full-width option without having to use pecentages in the width field for the same result. You can find description of these new settings and their purpose in the updated documentation.
Cheers, It would have been good if the upgrade took the settings across and the appropriate new settings selected. I can not seem to replicate the width 100% with all the new options.
If you select Full Width as slider type, your slider should be 100% wide. Could you, send your site url via private message? We would like to check it.
My site has the same error that commented luxurylivingftl.
Unfortunatly yesterday morning I updated LayerSlider Responsive WordPress Slider Plugin to version 6 and once the upgrade was completed, the slider image disappeared from my homepage (http://luzycolores.com). LayerSlider has been appeared without any issues for 5 months.
My website hasn’t spinning symbol so you only can see a white block.
I cleared the cache for my website and browser, disabled all plugins, except LayerSlider, but nothing happened.
I`ve done a lot of changes on my site just before update and for me it´s a real big problem to restore an old version (yes, I know…)
I´m not an expert and I´ve been trying to resolve this problem for hours without any result. I’m going to left Layerslider and use the theme option (Bridge – Qode options) to slide, but I would like how to resolve this issue to re-use again my Layerslider in another website.
Thank you for writing us!
Yes, we know about this issue and the fix will be available soon.
With temporarily set Hide on mobile feature to disable will solve this problem.
We are sorry for your inconveniences!
Yes, that’s right. It’s gone, but how can I hide the layer slider for mobiles now?
The new update that fixes this issue is already available through the auto-update feature. Soon it will be uploaded to CodeCanyon as well.
What have yo do???? It’d been disappeared again!!!!!!!
Is it possible to overlay a PNG on top of the layerslider ? I would like to overlay a PNG, and let my slides appear underneath the PNG (so only the slides move, but the PNG always stays static). I am using the Salient theme.
Thanks so much
Yes, it’s possible. With the new version, LayerSlider 6 you can create a static image layer and keep it on top of the slideshow.
i wonder how I can deauthorize a deleted website?
Is there a way you can do that for me?
If you send us your purchase code we can reset it for you. You can send a private email from our profile page.
Awesome update and slider! GLWS!
Thank you very much for your kind words, we are glad that you enjoy it.
The 6.0.1 update now freezes during the slider preloader and shows a white block with spinner without completing the load.
We have checked it and the issue is caused by Slider Revolution. You are using a really old release on your installation which is almost 2 years old and that is why it’s causing problems. You will need to update it to a recent version or disable it to solve this.
Deleted revolution slider and my slider still does not show text titles which can be seen in preview mode… it does show the background image in the slider niw though.
Compliments on your service trying to solve the issue guys!
We are experiencing an error upgrading to 6.0.1 with an error displayed as
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_ereg_match() in /.../LayerSlider/helpers/phpQuery.php on line 1832”
It brings down our front page although the navbar still works. The URL is http://cmmixs.com
It seems the PHP Multibyte String extension is not available on your server and that is causing the error. You will need to contact with your hosting provider and request to install this extension to solve the problem.
