Implementing a coin system is a relatively large feature to explain, but we might add it as a free update in the future!
I love the app & thank you. I have two slight issues if you could offer some advice. The first is I get a blank screen when the app launches. The “Loading” images are all in Images.xcassets / LaunchImage.faunchimage but just get a black screen while app is launching. This happens in Xcode’s simulator as well as on an actual device.
The second issue is; when you hit the home button, then try to restart the game, the “Game Over” screen remains on top of the actual gameplay. I have to double click the home button, kill the app, and restart the game. I am running the latest version of Xcode and an iPhone 5s on iOS 8.0.2
We haven’t run in to this ourselves, but we’ll see if we can get it fixed. Thanks for letting us know about this!

Everytime i try running the app i get an build failed ” Command /bin/sh failed with exit code 1” does anybody else get this and ca i please get help to resolve this

You can try scaling either game player texture larger, or specify a scale in the Player entitys code.
If the error is still there, you can remove the Run Script if you so desire. All it does is automatically increase the build number with each build.
how do I remove the script?
Just click the X icon in the upper right corner (if I remember correctly).
how do i add my own rev mob and iAds in?
Check the documentation and the file called Common.h, it has proper instructions on how to set either of those up.
Hi, first I would like to thank you for providing such detailed code. It is helping me learn a lot about how to program this type of game on iOS.
I am having the same issue as elamberth, in that when I tap “Restore Purchase”, and tap “Cancel”, I get the “Tap to Restart” overlay. When I tap “Tap to Restart”, the game over screen remains ontop of the regular gameplay.
I’ve tried studying the code to figure out why this is happening but can’t seem to figure it out. Can you help please?

In JPGameScene.m (line 88), right after [self.scoreLabel setFontSize:16]; you should be able to use something like [self.scoreLabel setFontColor:[SKColor blackColor]]; to set the text color to be black instead.

I uploaded a new font, but when the name changes from Nokia Cellphone FC to new font name, it does not work.
The easiest way would be to use existing fonts on iOS, which can be found here: http://iosfonts.com/
You do need to make sure to use the exact wording specified on that page (ie. “ArielMT”) in order for the font to work.

Ok, found them! I’ll answer here, so that anyone else having the same issues can see this.
First off, iAd is setup automatically, so that shouldn’t require anything on your part (apart from signing the iAd contract with Apple, if you haven’t done that).
Does the exit-and-resume issue happen on the latest version, or on a version that’s at least 1.0.5? We’ll have to test that out and fix it if it does!
Lastly, we’ll be adding example sound effects in an upcoming update.

I have released my app, and I have noticed that when (either) a call or notification takes the screens focus the game can continue to play (in the background) and make ridiculous hi scores. Any ideas for a quick work around for this.
Are you using at least version 1.0.5 or newer of the Junk Punk template?
Yes, also the removeads work for about 30 seconds and then ads appear again (iads only)
Also am I required to change JP_AdsDisabled to something? I have tried both Reference name and Product ID, both cause crashes. I do feel it is something trivial I have missed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

JP_AdsDisabled should be set to NO, if you want ads to work.
I have sorted the call/focus issue, added hit wall to the pause overlay, instant death!
But still have issue with the ads appearing after the IAP, thanks for looking into it

You need to specify the same Product ID in the config file and in iTunes Connect. The reference name doesn’t matter in this case.

I have narrowed it down, when purchased ads are removed for that session. When the app is closed and reopened ads reappear.
