Due to the API update, I have now used an acces token from my personal profile to retrieve pictures from a non-restricted Facebook Page. However, the plugin still says – frontend – that it needs a token.

please open a ticket in the support forum and provide a link to the page that contains the gallery, so that I can take a closer look. If you created the token through the plugin, make sure that the profile ID you used for the Facebook APP matches the one used for the gallery.

The plugin will automatically apply the generated token to all galleries that use the same user ID, but not the ones with a different user ID. But each gallery has a dedicated input field in its settings that allow you to manually insert any token.

If you created the token yourself via Facebook, make sure you converted it into an extended token (good for up to 60 days), as the standard token expires after a couple of hours. You can use this page (scroll all the way to the bottom) to convert your manual token:

Since FB API update gallery has been displaying an invalid token message. Submitted a ticket on 23rd June, followed up after 24 hours but had no response from developer. Cannot get plugin to work any more, might be best to avoid buying this until it works properly.

you sent an email via contact form, but didn’t actually open a ticket in the forum. Emails can get lost due to spam filters or other issues, which is why our forum is the only official support system, which we check daily (multiple times). And I never received an email from you (I just checked all emails from 06/23/2015 – 06/24/2015), which is why you didn’t get a reply. For future reference, please use the designated support forum.

Anyway, if you managed to create a token via the Facebook API page in the plugin settings, that token will only be automatically applied to galleries if the user ID that is associated with the token matches the one used for the gallery. Otherwise, the token must be (currently) transferred manually.

Hey, I contacted you via your own website as per the instructions to contact you on your site. If your systems don’t work properly, don’t accuse me of doing it wrong, especially after you send automated mails stating you have received my message and will reply. Perhaps improve your own systems? This token stuff is a complete and utter nightmare, the galleries are all broken again and I’m having trouble justifying using this complicated and hassle filled plugin now.

The support tab for the item here on CodeCanyon clearly lists that the only official support channel is through our Help & Support system and that support requests via emails may or may not receive replies. The automated reply you received only says that your email has been sent to us; it doesn’t say anything about “receiving” it. The only way for me to effectively keep track of support requests and for you to ensure that I actually receive your support request is through the forum.

Secondly, please don’t blame end-authors for changes implemented by Facebook. If Facebook wants to force everybody to use their new API v2.x, now requiring a Facebook APP and token, then there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.

The APP and token has to be created through FB and so there is only limited help I can provide for that process. Once you have a token, every gallery you created with this plugin has a dedicated input for the token string and all you have to do is to paste the token into that input field.

Hello,

I am interested in your plugin, but I have a question:

I want to show a list with album title pic of photo albums from my facebook page. 3 in a row. Link should open in a new window and with the facebook album itself, not with lightbox. Show only a few albums, where the album title has a special string in the album title.

Can your plugin do this?

as the main purpose of this plugin is to pull your albums from FB to your website, it will always open the album images inside the lightbox … because that’s what it is designed for. Therefore, your desired usage is unfortunately not possible.

As stated in my reply in our support forum, currently your site isn’t loading ANY JS files, not even the main jQuery library. Naturally, without the required JS files loaded (especially the most important jQuery library), NO plugin will ever work on your end.

I want to have no white border and shadow all around the frame and even the white header on top… i want everything transparent, only the albums… I would like also to change the text color (showing albums, name of album, share album…)

Hi, the plugin can be used in a multisite environment (I do it myself), but needs to be activated individually on each sub-site (where it is needed).

you did some major customizations to the gallery styles, so the only issue I can actually see is that the photo thumbnails are somehow fixed to the bottom of the screen and don’t remain between the controlbars. This CSS code should fix that:

    position: relative !important;
}

You might also want to adjust the y-axis offset for the tooltip (currently set to 30 pixels), so that the tooltip is closer to the actual thumbnail.

For any assistance beyond this (and/or if this doesn’t fix your issue), please open a ticket in the support forum and provide a more detailed description of the “disruptive layout issue”.

there seems to be an issue with the LazyLoad routine for the images. The images are actually there, they just remain hidden behind the LazyLoad spinner animation.

The JS routine that handles the LAzyLoad seems to be loading twive on your site, once through the plugin, and a second time within a minified and cached file, which I suspect is the issue here:

Not sure where the cached file is from, as all other JS/CSS files on your site are loaded normally, without coming from a cached source.

Please remove the cached file version from your site, to see if that makes a difference. Alternatively, you can also disable the LazyLoad feature for the gallery, which should also restore the thumbnail images.

you need to check that the token was generated for the correct user profile. All this plugin does is to use your provided token when retrieving data from Facebook; it has absolutely no control over the validity of the token, as you are the one generating and providing the token.

Hi,

The only “key” the plugin requires to work is an official access token from Facebook itself, which is a requirement put in place by Facebook, and not my plugin.

As the access token can only be generated through Facebook by the profile owner, I can’t do that for you. And if the token you currently provided does not seem to work on your site, you need to create a new access token with the required rights to pull the album information from Facebook.

Hi,

there is currently an issue with the domain target used for the license key check. An update to fix the issue is currently pending with Envato and should be available for download here on CodeCanyon in a couple of days (depending how soon Envato approves the update).

However, the plugin is otherwise fully functional without a license key, as all the license key does is to unlock the auto-update routine.

Hi, I recently updated the plugin on my website and it seems to not display ANY of the images—the albums and everything seem to work – there’s just no photo visibly there.

The update worked fine on one of my other sites where I use the plugin – I’m not sure what could be causing the problem.

please open an actual ticket in the support forum and provide me with a link to a page that shows the issue. There might also be an issue with the lazyload routine, conflicting with another lazyload script used by another plugin/theme on the same site. In that case, you should disable the lazyload option for the gallery (if used).

Thanks for the quick reply—it seems to have been the issue of the service used to scale the thumbnails. I switched from WeServ to CSS3 and it fixed the problem I was having.
