Would it be hard to change the graphics (the balls) to something larger or smaller than what you currently have in the game?

I think you mean you want to add another item to the main menu, it’s right? so it is a very straightforward job:

- Go to the file MainMenyLayer.m - copy the code from another item (for instance copy from line 53 to 58. - paste and make the changes you need (name, handler code etc.) - add the new create local variable to the menu creation call at line 70, followed by a comma.

Ok your problems that you are using code written to work without ARC. So you must set the flag ‘-fno-objc-arc’ for the source file ‘SampleAppViewController.m’. I think that a video as the following is enough to help you to succeed:

Hi Adrian, please tell me which XCode version you use to compile the project and the exact file where you encounter that problem. I think that is only a warning telling, instead: “unused” variable…

i try to simulae it, not works on iPhone, not on iPad and Xcode can’t simulate it. Sorry but the Apps not useable.

Ok I made a mistake… Following I have reported the Envato entry for the right FAQ:

“In simple terms, the main difference is that under the regular license, your end product (incorporating the item you’ve licensed) is distributed for free, whereas under the extended license your end product may be sold. Of course, if it was all that simple, we’d have a one sentence license, so please do read the licenses and the rest of these FAQs for more details! If you’re a freelancer, you are allowed to create an end product for a client using the regular license and charge them for your services – see the FAQ below.”

So you can only distribute for free with the Regular license… To sell you actually need an Extended version.

Hey…sorry but your App will not work. i found the fault (BUNDLE ID) and change it, i can bring the App one times to the Archiv but:

Adrian, as I said several times the issue related to the Bundle ID regards the code signing process, not to the code of the project.

Anyway you must set a Bundle ID that respond to the rules you have set during the certificates generation. To solve that problem, please refer to the Apple documentation.

Then, in the screenshot I can see two other things:

- Set the project minimal target to 6.1 SDK (actually is 4.0, ok that’s my mistake, but it is not a problem for people that knows what is doing…)

- You also must provide the icons for the launcher, XCode are telling you, via some warnings (YELLOW triangles).

Lastly I want to notice that XCode sourcecode projects I publish for Envato (apart when differently stated) are directed for developers that has a certain knowledge of the IOS SDK and the related notions to use, compile and publish…

Ok, you have to do a simple change. Into the file GenericMenuLayer.h at the line 23 you can find the “titleLabel” private variable. You can make it public through the ”@public” modifier or even transform it to a property. Then you are free to apply a different position simply through the same code that you can see at line 48 of the GenericMenuLayer.m file.

it didn’t work, but i found a way to move them all at once and i guess that’ll do for now. thank you.

oh and just a note, the game on large map with only 2 balls… game freezes for a few minutes because of too much data load

hello, i notice that the update has been waiting for a while, not too much of a hassle, but just 2 quick questions.

1. in the optionslayer.m, i want to remove the options of having 2 balls or 6 balls. adding a quick // will stop them working, but just curious where else i would edit to have them options unavailable and the game errors uptown trying.

and 2. is it hard to add a countdown timer? basically to finish the game in a set amount of time?

Hi,

essentially if you want to fix a value for the number of balls the central point is on GameLayer.m at line 114. Simply change the call to the “ballsCount” with a costant value.

If you need also to add a countdown timer insert it into the GameModel and make use of the “onGameOver” call to the “GameModelEventsProtocol” listeners. In that way the game will terminate following the standard flow.

its ok, i sorted that out myself, but can u help me with the countdown timer? I’ve looked at all the coding and that seems like its going to be easy, but many tutorials that i see involve using an .xib or storyboard which ur app does not include. how would i work around that?

Hi Michael,

please consider that all the code is based on Cocos2D, so you won’t use standard iOS views (through Interface Builder’s xibs o storyboards). If you want to add a simple timeout so the game will automatically end, this is very simple.

You can add a timer, inside the GameModel.m, in this manner:

NSTimer * timeoutTimer=[NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:<your duration in seconds> target:self selector:@selector(gameoverSelector) userInfo:nil repeats:NO];

the “gameoverSelector” must call the listener’s function:

for (id<GameModelEventsProtocol> listener in eventsListeners) [listener onGameOver];

But if, as I suspect, you are trying to implement a visual arrangement with an updating counter, things can become not so much trivial if you have no experience of Cocos2D programming.
