How do I rename the app’s package?

1. In your Project pane, click on the little gear icon ( Gears icon )
2. Uncheck / Deselect the Compact Empty Middle Packages option


3.Your package directory will now be broken up in individual directories

4. Individually select each directory you want to rename, and:
  • Right-click it
  • Select Refactor
  • Click on Rename
  • In the Pop-up dialog, click on Rename Package instead of Rename Directory
  • Enter the new name and hit Refactor
  • Allow a minute to let Android Studio update all changes
NOTE: When renaming com in Android Studio, it might give a warning. In such case, select Rename All



5. Now open your build.gradle. Update the applicationId to your new Package Name and Sync Gradle, if it hasn’t already been updated automatically:



6. You’re done ;)

How to remove AdMob banner ads

  1. enter the .xml files where there’s an AdView and remove its code:
        <com.google.android.gms.ads.AdView
            android:id="@+id/admobBanner" 
            android:layout_width="wrap_content" 
            android:layout_height="wrap_content" 
            ads:adSize="BANNER" 
            ads:adUnitId="@string/ADMOB_BANNER_UNIT_ID"

  2. Enter the .java files where there’s an AdRequest instance into its onCreate() method and remove its code:
            // Init AdMob banner
            AdView mAdView = (AdView) findViewById(R.id.admobBanner);
            AdRequest adRequest = new AdRequest.Builder().build();
            mAdView.loadAd(adRequest);
    
  3. Lastly, remove the play-services-ads reference in the build.gradle file:
        compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:+'
    

My app crashes at startup

Check your Parse Dashboard for empty (undefined) fields, if there are empty fields insert the missing records in your database and run the app again.
