Hi There, I just purchased the plugin unfortunately not see the more recent posts and issues. I can’t even upload the zip file however as my server keeps rejecting it stating it may have a virus or trojan??

I think it’s problematic to have Instagram images displayed directly as it can analyze users’ data. Except when the images are first cached, so that the images are no longer directly from Instagram and can analyze what. Since I do not know exactly how your plugin works, I wanted to ask if your plugin is GDPR compliant.

Our plugin in no way collects, uses or stores the personal data of the users who browse the Instagram Feed on your website.

Will the pictures be somehow cached? Or they will be displayed directly from Instagram. Of course, I believe you that you do not store any data. But maybe they still analyze data via their plugin, for example because data is analyzed by Instagram’s integrated images?
I just want to make sure that I do not get stressed. I’ve read that embedding SocialMedia content is worrying, because the content also always analyzes user data. And only if one has no direct connection, but a kind of cache, so that the contents are temporarily loaded locally, one is in principle on the safe side.
I had once made a picture right click and let me see where the image is stored and there was that it comes directly from Instagram.
That’s why I just wanted to play it safe.
The images displayed in our plugin are taken directly from Instagram. The Instagram posts data is cached on the server. Instagram Feed doesn’t analyze any user data, it simply displays everything it gets from Instagram.
Currently, we don’t see any breaches of GDPR on the side of our plugin, so you should be safe from this point of view. However, our lawyers are keeping an eye on the matter, and if any new developments come up, we’ll let you know.

Now that I had to deal with the DSGVO (GDPR), I wanted to ask if it would not be great for your plugin, if you would install a function that would do the loading of the images in the backend?
Because data protection technology, it would be better if the images from Instagram would not be displayed directly, because it “could” be that data is collected. If in the backend but the pictures are loaded and cached and every now and then after an update is looked, it would be a much better solution.
I just wanted to share my thoughts with you because I think your plugin is very good.

Indeed, GDPR compliance is a very serious point right now, and we realize the importance of the functionality you discuss. We’re considering adding something similar, but it might take a while to implement, so we can’t give you a specific timeline yet.

two questions before buying:
is it possible to create two streams,( f.e. 1 in german language, 1 in english) for our two language website?
Or does the extension automatically show the “browsers language”?

You can create as many streams as you like for one website with our plugin, so you can create a feed in English and place it in the English section of your website, and then you can create a second stream, choose German language for it (settings, Other tab) and add it to the German section.
