first of all great plugin
I am searching for a “simple” Mapper Plugin and found this one….
Here is my problem:
I have generated a TagCloud as Image and I want to link the words in the TagCloud(Image) to other pages in the website… I don’t want Pins, PopUps or all those things.. Just a normal image mapping.
Is this possible with your plugin?
Thanks a lot in advance
Thanks for the compliment, we appreciate it
What you want is not supported in the current version, but can be done with small modifications of the code to enable linking on click and disabling PopUps on hover. We’ll be able to help you with necessary changes, if you’re interested.
The pins are ALL over the place. No matter what I do on the preview screen, they keep moving on the actual page. I have posted this inquiry before 3 months ago and no response…
Sorry for the inconvenience, we changed support team members during that period, that’s why some of the older questions might be unresolved. The problem sounds like you have broken HTML content in some of your pins. Can you send us your WP login info via e-mail to email@example.com and we’ll debug the error as soon as possible.
Recently you helped me debug a site I am building.
I did not actually notice this until now, but it seems the plugin is
interfering with the “prettyphoto” that the the Wordpress template came with.
When I deactivate your plugin, all works ok.
Can you help again?
Of course, we’ll do our best to help. Can you send your WP login info once again via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll check the issue as soon as possible. Also, include the link to a page with “prettyPhoto” problem.
Thanks very much for the help.
One of the best supported plugins on Envato,
You’re welcome Thanks so much for the lovely comment.
How do i get the same styles or css as the demo shows? Such as the ballon boxes ect…?
All styling options are set when you create iMapper instance, on the right side of the screen in “General Options”. Can you tell on which style of our 5 preview pages are you thinking? We can give you the settings that we used.
yes, there is no option to set this style http://www.shindiristudio.com/demo/?item=iMapper_Wordpress including the balloon style pop up… also the font choices do not seem to work?
We can’t really see which preview you wanted to replicate because you shared a link inside of a iframe. Can you start from this page: http://www.shindiristudio.com/imgmapper/ , navigate to the one you want and send us the link?
There are no options to set predefined styles, but all of them can be replicated using styling options available in the dashboard.
We are really trying to achieve the Version 1 look. I understand there is a custom icon but we are unable to achieve the bubble content area shape, we also have no option to select appear at top or bottom only left or right, and the font selection will not effect the published content?
1. To set the version 1 look, this is how you need to set options:
Item Back Color: #1fb896
Item Border Color: #1fb896
Item Font Size: 12px
Item Title Font Size: 17px
Item Font Type: Dosis
Item Font Color: #fff
Item Width : 240px
Item Height: 120px
Item Border Radius: 6px
2. If you selected pin type 2, it only has “left” and “right”, other pins will additionally have “top” and “bottom” positions.
3. Probably the theme is overriding fonts applied to iMapper content, and you’ll need to write some custom CSS to prevent that. If you share a link to your page where the iMapper instance is, we’ll most probably be able provide the code that you need to insert.
thank you great help.
We are glad that your problem is solved. If you have any other issues, do not hesitate to contact us.

Its compatible with mobile ? works fine?
Yes, it’s compatible. There’s an option to enable responsive item style – check out the version 3 on our preview from a smaller screen (or just resize your browser window).
Hello, can you create a url link directly to the icon?
Thank you to advance
That behaviour is not supported by default, but it can be achieved if you’re willing to edit the plugin a little bit. If you decide for that option, let us know, and we’ll provide necessary changes that you need to implement.
Per purchase question.
I need to do several hyperlinks to hosted pdf files on each hotspot.
Will your product allow for this?
You should be able to do that, because HTML code can be inserted into pin content.
Thank you – I loaded it up and did a few states and it works great! One problem, the image is too small, I can’t click to enlarge it to regular size once I put the shortcode in the post as you can before you add hotspots, I don’t think I can use a lightbox on it in the post. Is there some way to make image mapper leave it the original size from the beginning or to allow for lightbox or click to enlarge once you have it in the post? Thanks in advance for your help.
Image width is set depending on the width available to it. It takes 100% width of parent element, which means that if you put it in a bigger container, it will be bigger. iMapper instance can’t be added to lightbox as a picture, but you might be able to add it via shortcode.
By Jove I think I’ve got the “container” thing worked out. The original image was using thumbnail size from the media gallery, changed that to full and and the shortcode brings it into post is the correct size.
This plugin is exactly what I was looking for and handles what I needed it to do perfectly.
Thank you so much!
A couple of presales…
1. Does it support WP 3.8
2. Is IE 11 supported?
3. Can it be use on featured images?
1. & 2. Yes.
3. No, iMapper instances are created in separate dashboard page and are added to page/post content through shortcode.
Please could you advise if you are aware of the issue and how it can be fixed.
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘1’ of undefined jquery.image_mapper.js?ver=3.8.1:927
Can you send us your WP login info via e-mail to email@example.com so we could see the problem firsthand? We should be able to tell something more then.
Hi, Can I make it click over the pin or some area to open a link?
You can insert HTML content (including links) in a content area that opens on hover or click. Opening the page when you click on a pin is not supported, but if you’re willing to edit some code, it can be achieved and we can help you with it.
a pre-sale question:
Can I put images in the info bubbles and not just text as it is shown on demo versions1, 2 and 4?
Yes, you can put any kind of HTML content in them, including HTML img elements.
Thanks for the reply.
You’re welcome, feel free to contact us if you have more questions.
Hi, I have read in one comment that the bubbles support images, and html. They could also support a video insert from youtube/vimeo?
Yes, you can add video embed code both from youtube and vimeo.
Does it work with several photos in a wordpress gallery or portfolio ?
You can create many iMapper instances, however, they are added through a shortcode. That means that you won’t be able to alter WP gallery or portfolio, you’ll have to create instances separately.
How can you re-size the provided pins? They are a little too huge on the images I am using and make it impossible to pin i.e. many locations on a map because the pins are so big they crowd each other out and you can’t see the place on the map either…
You’ll need to manually resize images available in ..\wp-content\plugins\wordpress_image_mapper\images\icons\ folder. You’ll have to keep their transparency and save them as png. Another option is to import your own pin when you create an iMapper instance.
the plugin has great potential. Something that I haven’t seen in any of this type of plugins is a smart handling for the smaller screen sizes on mobile phones.
I would imagine that the best will be the spot to open an overlaying div that covers 100% the page, where the content of the pin is visible. It has a little close button to close the div.
A pre-sale question:
I would like to hear your opinion on this and if you are open to implement smth like this in your plugin. It will make it truly above everything else like this.
Actually, you can already choose responsive behaviour for pin content – check out our 3rd version of demo on a smaller screen – http://www.shindiristudio.com/imgmapper/?page_id=39
yes, we checked it but it is not really useful. We tested on Chrome (if this might be changing the behaviour).
What we experience is that a div opens but always on some different place on the page, and for many of the pins this div doesn’t appear at all, it is hidden out of the page visible area.
What might be the problem?
It seems that “Top” position property is not calculated correctly in some of the browsers. We’ll check the issue as soon as possible. Until then, you can check how iMapper should behave on smaller resolutions, in Firefox.
in Firefox works fine. In Safari as well.
Looking forward to see it cross-browser compatible.
We are currently looking for the cause of the problem in some browsers. Stay tuned!
just to share a comment on the responsiveness.
Right now it is resizing the whole pop window by making all smaller inkl. the text and the image inside. Unfortunately, the text becomes too small to read on smartphones. The image becomes too small to recognize. Better is to have some css rules in this case instead of just scaling down everything.
Thanks for your help so far! Another (and I hope last) question if you don’t mind…
My tooltip pop-up windows are all the same size (which is fine) but there is no scroll function – so either the text spills over the pop-up window or is simply cut off. This is when using the provided pins. I’m using the red map pins but it does this with all the other pins too.
How can I enable the scroll function so all the information displays properly?
It’s possible that there is a conflict with some other plugin, which is causing the scroll function not to work. We received your login info and will check the problem during the day.
Thanks! I noticed somebody created a sample page on the site yesterday – was there any success in finding out what the issue is?
Yes, we made that page, but there is no progress yet. We posted this response to your ticket on the support forum couple of days ago:
We weren’t able to replicate the error. Can you tell us with which instances of iMapper you have the problem and which browser are you using, so we can make further tests?
Hi. Any news on a fix for the bug with the pins not staying where they are intended in OSX?
No, unfortunately, we can’t tell anything more about the issue at the moment.
Brilliant. A plugin that only works on a PC.
Hello, hello hello…......
Pre-purchase question.I want to buy this plugin, but I need all scripts (except jquery.js and jquery.prettyPhoto.js ) to be merged in one file.
The same goes for CSS ( except prettyPhoto.css ). It is possible to do this ? Without upgrades, there is no need in my case.
Cheers….............and successful business man !
We haven’t tried to merge all the scripts manually, but using “Better WordPress Minify” plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/bwp-minify/ , iMapper scripts are successfully minified and merged while the functionality of the plugin is unaffected. However, you should be able to do it manually by concatenating the scripts in one file. You’ll have to maintain the order in which those scripts are included in image_mapper_class.php file, and after that, from that file, replace lines for including scripts with the line in which you’ll include that new file with all scripts combined.
Same thing goes for CSS files.
Yes, understood. I just bought the plugin.Thank’s for advice.
Glad to hear that Hope that you manage to utilize the plugin as you want.
Kind regards ,
Having problem with the pins appearing in wrong positions in preview mode. Any idea why it happens?
Another problem is that I cannot find where to add a extra item (pin) for my image. Where should I add a second etc. pin?
1. Pins can appear in wrong places if there is broken HTML code inserted into them. You can send us your WP login info via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org if you want us to take a closer look at the issue.
2. When you edit iMapper instance, on the bottom of “General options” section, there is a button “Change” for controlling of “Item icon”. When you click on it, you’ll be shown a window with an option to select one of the 5 predefined icons or import your own.
I’m disappointed with the lack of development for this plugin. Similar plugins have been updated with new features but this has almost been abandoned and it now seems very basic in comparison – it doesn’t even have a hyperlinked pin option.
We are aware that iMapper is a bit neglected, but due to various circumstances, we are currently unable to add new features to it. However, in the future, when the conditions are right, further developments of the plugin will be conducted.
P.S. There’s an unofficial version of iMapper, which has the option to open hyperlink on pin click. If you need that feature, send us your purchase code via e-mail to email@example.com and we’ll send the file to you.
