Hi there

is there a way to have the URL links on the images open in a new tab? how can i go about making this happen. thanks

Tammy

Hi Tammy,

Please add this custom JavaScript in Grid Accordion -> Custom CSS & JS -> Custom JavaScript:

jQuery( '.grid-accordion a' ).attr( 'target', '_blank' );

Regards,
David

thanks !

I have one other question … I can’t seem to remove the ‘space’ that the second grid accordian has beneath it? or creates beneath it.

Here is my page – it’s the space underneath ‘Christmas’ and between the Youtube video – http://aarts.net.au/ecard/

Any ideas on what might be happening here and how to fix it? To bring the video up so its not so far down the page?

Thanks

The height of the second slider is 300px, although the content inside is not that high. You should set the height to a smaller value and the white space will disappear.

David

Hi there, I have pre-purchase question. is it possible to use your accordion on fullscreen page template. The preview is in boxed layout. is it possible to have ful page display? Slavo

Hi Slavo,

Yes, it’s possible, by setting the Width and Height options to 100%, but the width and height of the container elements that holds the grid also needs to be full screen.

David

hi I wanted to know how to do, to recreate the effects of Example 2, where the picture becomes further biggest passing the mouse over.

Hi,

In that example there are 2 images for each panel. The example demonstrated the capability to swap images when the panel is opened. You can add the second image in the “Background Image” editor.

David

Hey is there a way to make this full screen, this is how it looks on my site http://www.beautifulmwiza.com/

Hi,

Fullscreen can mean many things, so please provide more details about how you want the grid to be displayed in that page. Also, it seems you didn’t purchase the item from the account you’re currently using.

Hey I was wondering if the grid would expand to every edge of the page rather than take up half of the home page. I want it to be stretched further and wider. I figured if it worked on the free one then I could purchase the premium one.

Your page has a top logo, then a menu, then the content area, then a comments area and then the footer. When you say you want it to expend to every edge, are you referring only to the content area, or to the whole page? Exactly from where to where do you want the grid to stretch?

Presale question here. I love what I see so far but I was wondering if you can link to an mp3. I want to use the gallery to display albums I have produced with an audio sample. is this possible?

Thanks Chuck

Hi Chuck,

The grid has a built-in lightbox, FancyBox 2, which can be used to launch images, videos or other pages. It can’t launch a simple audio player. The solution would be to add your audios in simple HTML pages and then open those HTML pages, but this requires some setup work. But, there are probably other galleries that handle this particular functionality better. Take a look at audio players.

Hello bqworks, thank you for this great plugin! Just one question. I don’t know why, title and paragraphs looks so small in every grid. I want to make it look like the text in your website demo but it’s not possible. Can you help me? Thank you so much!

Hi,

It’s probably caused by CSS from the theme but I need to take a look at the page in order to say for sure.

David

Hi :)

I’m trying to make my grid panels linkable, but it doesn’t seem to respond to my clicks…

the pointer doesn’t even change it’s icon when I’m hovering over the panel…

please help.

Hi,

It’s caused by some CSS you added:

#headslide {
    z-index: -1;
}

If you remove the negative z-index it will work.

Hi, Presale questions:

1- is there a setting to make the images move faster? 2- can images of various sizes be used, and if so, is there a ratio to respect, or can they be just about any dimensions? 3- does it work with Genesis framework? 4- can you put the shortcode in a WIDGET?

Many thanks!

Hi,

1. If you are referring to the panel opening/closing speed, yes, it can be modified.

2. Yes, please see example 2 where the images have different sizes.

3. Yes, it’s supposed to work with any theme/framework.

4. There’s a built-in widget that can be used to drop the accordion in a widget area.

David

Pre-sale question, is it possible to have different categories of images in one grid and have filters on top, for example if I have both wedding photos and family portraits and dog portraits, can I but all categories in on grid and then the user can filter with buttons on top/under?

Hi.

No, filtering is not available at the moment.

Regards,
David

Sad to hear it, anything you have cooking for future releases?

It’s not planned at the moment.

Hello,

There’s already a query regarding a similar issue, but I have played around with the size of my images and with the height of the accordion – re-sizing, for instance, so that the height of the accordion is no bigger than the height of any single image – all to no avail.

I always seem to be left with a white space underneath my accordion, as at: http://culturedarm.com/2015/07/14/woman-reading-and-the-oasis-of-matisse/

Is there any way to get rid of the white space? Thanks for the help.

Never mind: I was making a silly mistake, and it is sorted now, the white space all gone. Thanks for the plugin!

Glad you’ve worked it out! :)

Hi,

Why does it show blank space on IE8 instead of displaying the grid and its content?

link: http://bit.ly/1DnklAT

tnx ahead

Guy

Hi Guy,

It’s because you have JavaScript errors in IE8 which break all the JavaScript functionality that follows in the page. These errors don’t come from the slider itself; you can check them.

David

Any idea if this plugin works with Divi theme by Elegant Themes?

Yes, it should work fine with any theme.

Regards,
David

Thanks David! One ore question: Does it work with videos or only images?

It works with videos; you can see an example on he presentation page.

Hi, does the Grid Accordion plugin offer the same features as the Accordion Slider plugin? If I set the numbers of lines to 1 in Grid Accordion will it appear like in the Accordion Slider?

Hi,

I won’t recommend using the Grid Accordion if you only need one row/column of panels, because it will behave a little different than the Accordion Slider.

Regards,
David

How do you get the images to target=”_blank”? The images must open a new tab, but I don’t see that option.

Hi,

I think this grid accordion might not be the best solution for what you’re trying to achieve; this is not a regular image grid, its purpose is to provide an accordion-style look and behaviour.

Anyway, regarding your question, if your images are not animated and they are fully visible (their size is the same as the size of the panel, so that there are not hidden/masked areas of the image), then you could set

.grid-accordion .ga-panel {overflow: visible;}
so that content that falls outside will become visible.

Best,
David

Possibly not, but it looks good, works well and I’ve jerry rigged it for now. It’s nearly perfect. Thank you for your help.

You’re welcome!

Is it possible to have other plugin shortcodes within accordion panels?

Yes, it’s posible.

Hey bqworks, thanks for the awesome plugin. I have been using it for 2 years now. I’m using Cloudlfare as my CDN and whenever I enable “Rocket Loader” the grid gallery I have just disappears.

could you please help with this? thank you!

there are some instructions that if you use cf-async=”false” then it ignores this script but could you please help me on where do I need to enter that value? the information is located at https://blog.cloudflare.com/combining-javascript-css-a-better-way/

Hi there. Sorry for the delayed reply! You probably figured it out since then, but I’d like to add that the cause of the problem might be another script which breaks when Rocket Loader is enabled, thus causing the Grid to break as well. If this is the case, the soultion you proposed wouldn’t help. Anyway, I can only help if you share a link to the page.

Hi, I have a few questions regarding the layers. Im not really a coder so if the answer to these questions are simple enough, forgive me !

1 – How can i set the layers to center align so that when the columns are squeezed (when other columns are open) or opened, they stay at the center.

2 – If i set link to a layer, the layer doesn’t show up at all.

Thank you very much for your time

Hi,

1. There isn’t a setting to position the layers in the center, but it’s possible to achieve a similar result by setting the Horizontal and Vertical options of the layer to percentage values.

2. If you want to add links of other HTML markup, please make sure you use a DIV layer.

Best,
David

Hello,

This is a presale question, I am looking for a gird plugin to be used as a resource page. With images being linked to external links and internal pages. This has to be fully responsive.

Please let me know if this plugin can handle this request.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can add links, both internal and external, to the image. The grid is also responsive as you can see in the examples.

Best,
David
