Popular questions for this item

How to start the map in a specific location?

First you need to deactivate the HTML5 geolocation, and then simply pass the desired coordinates and zoom level as initialization parameters:

mappeo.initialize({
  container: 'map',
  filter: '',
  geolocation: false,
  latitude: 37.7749295,
  longitude: -122.4194155,
  zoom: 8
});

How to make sure that only my videos are shown?

You can show only videos from a specific youtube user, just pass in the initialization parameter ‘author’:

mappeo.initialize({
  container: 'map',
  filter: '',
  geolocation: false,
  author: "youtube_username"
});

How to show the popular (most viewed) videos in a specific area?

The orderBy initialization parameter allows you to order the “area” videos by:
  • popular
  • relevance (default)
  • published date
  • rating
To show the “popular” videos set the order by parameter to “popular”:
mappeo.initialize({
  container: 'map',
  filter: '', geolocation: false,
  latitude: 37.7749295,
  longitude: -122.4194155,
  zoom: 8,
  orderBy: "popular"
});

How can I show the videos in my own modal window?

The onVideoOpen initialization parameter, allows you to pass a handler function that gets called everytime a video is clicked on the map. This callback receives the video information as a parameter. You need to return false to prevent the default modal window to show up.

mappeo.initialize({
  container: 'map',
  filter: '', geolocation: false,
  latitude: 37.7749295,
  longitude: -122.4194155,
  zoom: 8,
  orderBy: "popular" ,
  onVideoOpen: function(video) {
    // do something with video
    return false;
  }
});
