Hi! I’m trying to understand. Is this a Wordpress plugin? or can it accesible as a stand-alone website that can output the different size favicons and logo sizes?
If it’s only a plugin, can I extract or save the different image files for use in another application?

Is there a way to add a different favicon per page? Say for 1 page you want to have a different favicon versus the main favicon? Thx

Unfortunately that is not possible. A workaround would be to do this normally, then View Page Source in your browser and copy the favicon code from the header part of the page source code. Then you could theoretically paste this code into any other page somehow.

Are you actually aware that you use 229 characters to create the folders and name for a single file (jquery.youtubeBackground.min.js)?
Do you understand that the limit for filenames on Windows is 255?
Does it even register that some people prefer to upload using SFTP instead of the WP Plugin installer?
Does it further register that people on Windows have paths to their folders that include “c:\User\username\” + a folder name like “desktop” or “downloads”?
And, if they make the mistake of placing your plugin in a folder on their well-organized machine – like “C:\Users\jimhu\Desktop\themeforest\plugins\freshFavIcon\” that now the path to your file is 285 characters?
LOOK AT IT!!!! —> ” C:\Users\jimhu\Desktop\themeforest\plugins\freshFavicon\fresh-favicon_v1.1.2_2016-06-06-12-24-52-UPLOAD-THIS\fresh-favicon-UPLOAD-THIS\framework\fresh-framework\framework\themes\builder\metaBoxThemeBuilder\assets\freshGrid\extern\youtubeBackground.js\jquery.youtubeBackground.min.js”
This means that Windows cannot read the file for Filezilla to upload it to the server.
Why in the name of filenames would you do such a thing?
And what the hell is “_2016-06-06-12-24-52-UPLOAD-THIS” doing in the filename? Leaving out that unneeded crap would have fixed the problem for me, but not for all users.
Then the plugin somehow stuck the “fresh-framework” folder out in the plugins root folder and it blocked access to the dashboard of the website.

Seems like we got you pretty mad, sorry for this, it was not our intention. Just to explain it a little bit, we have around 50 products on the marketplaces, so we are using automatic script for deploy. This script is creating the name and version and date structure, as you can see. We all are users of linux and mac, so we dont catch this error. About the framework, its a plugin which will be automatically installed and its shared codebase for all our plugins / themes. Also the “UPLOAD THIS” name is important, because lots of people are uploading different files, which generates lots of support requests.
Anyway, if you figured out, that you want to stay with the favicon plugin (I personally consider the plugin valuable and useful), we would be really happy. If not, you can of course ask for a refund and we will issue the refund for you, because we dont want you feel like we ripped you off.
Third option would be to change the naming structure, but I dont see that in a realistic way, because its hell of a work, lots of other tools are bounded to the deploy script and we would have to put unknown amount of development hours to this. We never got this issue before (and we are adding this plugin for free to our themes, so we got thousands of users).
Anyway Jim, hopefully I explained you our behavior and now its your call, if you go for a refund. Also, since you clearly have valuable knowledge, we have an offer for you, where we give you our latest 59$ unique WP theme for free and you give us your user feedback

And why does it take almost 800 files just to “Auto-generates 20 favicons/config files from only 1 or multiple image(s)”?
Thanks for the response and explanation, but it does not explain why you have 2 “-UPLOAD-THIS” in the filename. If anything, this would confuse users looking for what to upload. And it doesn’t explain placing the year, month, day, hour, minutes and seconds in the filename – all of that stuff is part of a file when it is created. It isn’t needed in the name. The version number is sufficient.
If all you did was eliminate the 2nd “-UPLOAD-THIS” and the file date and timestamp you’d save 34 characters off the filename.
As an old school coder (VB 2.0 through VB.Net 1.1 & some ASP.Net) I do understand the need to re-use code. But I don’t add all of my classes and DLLs to every project that I compile.
I uninstalled the plugin and re-installed. It is still putting the “fresh-framework” folder out in the plugins root folder. Why would that happen?

The “Fresh Framework” is our framework plugin, which is automatically installed in order to run the favicon plugin. Since we have around 50 products online, its important for us to have framework, which is kind of “codebase”. This framework powers all our products and its simply not possible to just extract few files, which is used by Favicon plugin, because what if you are using for example our another Custom Code plugin, which also requires another functionality.
I dont say its completely not possible, but its definitely out of our budget…

HI, in ADVANCED TAB – we have to select our Basic favicon image for all options/sizes from Media Library? The plugin then will be resize each one accordingly?
2) Also, I am noticing that my final favicon on browser tab is smaller than the rest of websites… WHY is that? I put 310×310px original dimensions

Regarding Advanced tab, if you upload an icon there, it will “overrule” an icon of that size that would otherwise be generated automatically from the Basic tab. People use this if they want to make sure their icons are super crisp because there is no image resizing/processing done on the advanced tab that degrades image quality.

Yes, if your icon looks good in a very small and very big sizes then it’s just fine. The advanced tab should be used only if you want to be picky and have total control.

Hi, Just bought two of your plug-ins yesterday and tried installing today and I have to say I’m so disappointed. Really. Hey is there any website/resource you know of that can verify that everything is working okay? I mean, I added all the advanced PNGs and it “seems” to be working alright. However, as obviously I don’t own each and every device so that I could check it manually … Is there any tool for that? Like a check up tool for Favicon so I can confirm that yes everything is okay on all devices?

First I tried the Basic method, that didn’t work. So then I added all the Advanced images. All of them PNGs. (I didn’t worry about file naming conventions like apple-touch-icon on the assumption that your plugin handles that.) Still doesn’t work on an iPhone 5 or 6 (the two devices I’ve tested it with). Then I thought maybe the Basic image has to be deleted for the others to work. So I tried that. Still doesn’t work. Next steps?

Hello, is the plugin working with Wordpress 4.1?
Yet, my theme has multiple file upload slots for favicons already but mostly for iOS and Windows. Is there going to be any conflict? From the replies above I assume not by leaving them blank, yet I see no complaints form other users either which is a good sign.
Does the plugin need to remain activated after generating the favicons in order to work? The question is performance related.

1.) We cannot guarantee there wont will be conflict, it depends on the code of your theme, because WordPRess does not have any standardized option how to include favicons, so we can’t prevent conflicts 
2.) Yes it has to be activated, but its written with performance on mind, so it will consume just minimal resources ( we test the resource consumption when developing plugins )

Excuse the question, but just to make sure I’m crystal clear prior to buying: the plugin not only generates all device-relative Favicon/Icon sizes, but then applies (shows) the right size to the device used to access the website…?

I thank you for asking beforehand, not many people do this yet it’s a good idea. The answer is ‘yes’ to all your points. You can also have the sizes auto-generated or you can tinker and upload all 15(?) sizes on your own – this is good to preserve ultra sharpness. What, then, would be the purpose of this plugin?
Second question: The theme we’re using (X) has a textfield in its customizer wherein the path to our (current) favicon is entered and the favicon is then drawn from. Once I install this plugin and it generates all of the favicons, I should leave the afore mentioned textfield blank, as this plugin would then be handling it, yes?

Hehe this is misunderstanding. You can upload all 15(?) sizes through our plugin, which make it pretty easy, since you don’t have to hustle with all the conditional logic ( its mobile? Show this favicon then). So there is still no need to upload them manually
2.) Yes, most probably it will work out of the box, because if you leave the option blank, it should not print any favicon. But if you experience conflict, just let us know and we’ll do our best to make it work asap.

I have a minor problem though. Since I include your plugin in my theme via TGMPA class it activates only the ‘Fresh Favicon’ plugin, so my theme users are getting the notice in WP admin:
Fresh plugins require the ‘Fresh Framework’ plugin to be activated first.
As I can see you include all your plugins in your latest theme (which is amazing), can you please tell me how did you solve this problem?
