Wow! I am the first to post a question here. Yea Me!

My question is:

How do we create extra fields for like a questionnaire?

How long is the stored info saved in the MySQL database?

Hi Turner,

The form is only an example which shows how to use plugin. Data from the form are not stored in the database, but are stored in the session. Default lifetime of the session is 30 days, but you can change this value.

Thanks for your comment.

Like you online demo examples.

Sorry, but I do not understand your question. Be more specific. This plugin does not create form fields, but only saves the values from the form.

Is it possible to email form values from the form if say, the user doesn’t finish the form by submitting? So we can still capture info even though they didnt submit.

Hello gsxawd99,

Yes it is possible. But in this situation script would require some modification. Send me an email if you’re interested.

Dos it insert or update the data automatically in mysql DB??

Tnak you

SOrry, i’ve already seen the answer here!

Hello,

No. Unfortunately not. But this functionality can be easily added.

Thanks for your comment.

What is a “FIFO queue record” anddoes this mean the person can save, and come back and edit their form later? Is this queue record fail safe, is their a possibility that the user can delete it by mistake?

Hello,

Yes. User can edit forms and go back to them later. The data are saved (and available) as long as cookie is alive.

would it be possible to make this save to a database instead of a session? We are looking for something like google docs autosave but sometimes the user will need to access the info from different computeres so the cookie wont be available.

Hello,

Yes it is possible, however requires some modification. Thanks.

This could be exactly what I need. I am using GravityForms (a WordPress plugin), and I really need people’s text and choices (drop-downs, etc.) to remain in place despite a page change or refresh. Is this basically what this plugin does? GravityForms handles all data storage and forms obviously, I just need the ability to keep the info via cookies or whatever.

Please check your mailbox.

Pre-sales – Script looks great…if I already have a form, will I need to insert tags into each existing field, or will this script just autosave anything entered in the current form I have? I don’t want to edit all form fileds.

Thanks!

Hello,

By default, script saves all data from form, so in this case, modification of form fields isn’t needed.

Okay, thanks…let me word this a little differently then, I have a page that I use an iframe to call my form, which is PHP based and uses a database. So, in reality, there is not HTML-type page that has the actual form or fields, but rather calls the fields to be populated via PHP. So, my question is essentially, can i just call your script to the page I have the embedded form and it will work? I’d appreciate a detailed answer…i am considering buying…but not first without understanding if this will work. Thanks.

Hello,

You cannot manage content of iframe from parent page – it’s not technically possible.

Issue with loading forms. It loads form correctly, but right after I select the form to load and click anywhere on the screen, it asks if I want to load the form again.

It’s almost like it wants to load the form again on loss of :focus or something. How do I stop this?

Nevermind, I found a way to stop that a few minutes after posting this question. I’ll leave the answer here, for anyone else has this issue. This is valid for Example II by the way.

onReadEnd:function(data) { alert('Click OK to load form data.'); $('.autosaveDateSelect').blur(); return(true); },

Just add the .blur line to onReadEnd function.

Hello,

Thank you.
