How does it support say 10 million records? Performance is the major concern displaying grid. Please clarify and I would be happy to purchase this
The way ExtendGridView works is like, you will have to bind the required records to it and set the required properties to get the pagination working.
Lets say you have 1,00,000 records and you are showing 50 records per page, then you can get the required 50 records from Database/BusinessLayer along with the total record counter and bind those 50 records to the grid and set the TotalRecords property of the grid to the TotalRecordCounter value.
On every Page Index Change Event you will have to get the required data (instead of the whole dataset) and bind those required records to the Grid.
Pagination Control will show the First,Next,Previous and Last buttons accordingly. Additionally there is one more feature provided where user can enter the PageNumber and you can register to that event to get the PageNumber entered by user. Then you can get the required results from DB/BusinessLayer along with the Total Record Counter and bind it to grid. Pagination Control will be set automatically.
Does it support inline editing? And templates, in case i need to add a drop down list to one of the columns?
I just bought your grid and looking at the code, it seems that you are hardcoding the number of records every time. Do i have to keep track of the number of records?
I was hoping the grid would manage that for me?
Do you have an example of the data layer code I could use? Also, do i need to write a stored procedure to handle the row count?
Could you help me with this: I am trying to see how to do inline editing and adding a new row, at run time.
Is this a WinForms or an ASP control?
I need to allow the user to add rows, dynamically.
Sorry about the laaaaaate reply.
I was hoping that I would receive an email when someone posts a comment on CodeCanyon. I will have to be more active from next time onward.
To answer few of your questions:
1) ExtendedGridView is an extended version of GridView. Thus, you could do everything with this grid which might have been possible with ASP .Net GridView.
2) It is ASP .Net GridView Control
==> Thus, to handle custom paging, you are required to know the total number of records available and can be set using its TotalRecords property.
I need exactly this script in PHP can you plz help me
I don’t have much idea @ PHP … m extremely sorry
