Lots of good options for displaying posts and great support.

My experience with Essential Grid has been negative. Some time ago they pushed an update which broke my setup, requiring me to revert to an older version of the plugin. Recently my website was infected with malware, which had entered through Essential Grid. And now I'm getting a 503 Service Unavailable error which, according to my hosting provider, is caused by Essential Grid. If I deactivate the plugin the website works fine. I reached out to support about the first issue but didn't get a response (because support expired?). In all, really disappointed with a product for which I paid $28.

Hi,

since our plugins are regularly checked by a leading cyber security company it is highly undoubtedly that the malware entered through Essential Grid. Please check your system since the real culprit is still out there!

You did also not reach to our support, there is no ticket to be found with your username. Whom did you contact? Can you send us a link? Thanks!

When you can leave a ticket our support will answer even when the support contract has ran out. This is standard behaviour by our support agents for the benefit of our customers. Since the customers started the ticket when still having a valid contract we of course will finish it no matter what.

A plugin being activated could break the PHP output when conflicting with an other plugin or the server environments. Are you sure you have updated all your plugins? Did your hosting provider use a proper version of PHP?

As always if you need one of our agents to check your server please use our ticket system over at:

As a whole, strong and reliable, by far the best. Just a couple issues with the video gallery and the image descriptions functionality.

for Other

It's difficult select one option to make a good rating, overall this plugin has an amazing customization, docs, etc. In this case I really recommend the plugin support, Massod and other professionals help you to resolve any question in a very effective way.

for Customer Support

General Functionality is fine, but there is a compatibility issue with enfold.

I raised an support ticket, set up a test-site and it was cofirmed, that there is a problem. But then the ticket was closed - without solving the problem. I reopened the ticket for two times, but is was closed again.

So no solution after 6 month.

It seems, that there is no interest, that Essential Grid is working properly with enfold.

Hi,

please excuse us, of course it is in our common interest that Essential Grid works as well with the theme Enfold as it works with all the others. Closing the ticket can only be accidental.

Could you kindly forward the ticket ID to help@themepunch.support and our support manager will take care of the issue!

Sorry for the inconveniences and cheers from your team @ ThemePunch

Customer support is always prompt and helpful for his product.

for Feature Availability

If you want the product for making feed grids or for making single category grids its good.

However, I gave it 3 stars because I wanted to use it for woo commerce. You CANT filter by attributes, and you definitely cant filter a specific category by attributes.

For example, If you have a category called books, and in books you have books with attributes of paperback or hardback and another attribute of Braille or large print. You won't be able to filter the grid to have a book (category) thats paperback (attribute 1) and in large print (attribute 2). It simply doesn't work.

Also, the documentation isn't great, although the videos will show you the basics, its pretty much you've got to play around with it to make it work.

You need to know the queries is only query for order of items, e.g date of post.

Also try selecting from the source tab an item from the top and an item from the bottom, it highlights every item in between which is a pain for when you come to filters because you have to untick every single thing you dont want in the middle of the list.

One last thing, although. I may be wrong but I couldn't find any documentation, try making 44 grids like I was, you can template a skin (the way it looks) but you cant template the actual sources or the filters or their layouts, you have to start from scratch for every single one.

(woo commerce has an extension to filter by attribute if you do need it, but it won't work in this I've tried, you just have to find another grid make)

for Customer Support

Very poor customer support, no response in 2 days.

Hi Michael,

thanks for your reply and I apologize for the delay in response. Our support manager has taken over the ticket which was bounced back to the end of the chronological queue of the used ticketing software. Unfortunately there is no switch to change that default behaviour of the software (we understand you use a different software yourself) so if you need to ask how the status is of a ticket we kindly ask you to do so via the item comments. Thanks so much for the understanding!

Thank you !!

for Customer Support

The link to a support article I was looking for in the plugin was a broken link, the search button in the FAQ section does not work or return any results, I asked for information from customer support and the response was that I should "search for the documentation."
