So it appears as if you have to have a PayPal Payments PRO in order to use this, correct?

If so you might want to post that in your description otherwise you will have quite a few people wanting refunds because it will not work with their regular FREE PayPal Business accounts.

PayPal payments Pro is a PAID service. It’s NOT free.

Look forward to your reply.

In the documentation I have listed that it needs PayPal Payments PRO . I will update the general description now.

Thanks!

Also you should state that an ssl certificate would be required (obvious to those who know but maybe not for others) – very useful script though, I would like to see more standalone payment gateway APIs become available on here, HSBC , Barclays EPDQ Authorize.net etc. Useful for custom shops etc.

Great suggestion! I will update it now.

Thank you.

Wow, just nice & good job. I’ve been looking for something like this.

Thanks. When I was developing this I found there was no real information on the Internet and it took a lot of digging to get the pieces in place. I knew there was a lot of other people like me who wanted to have a quick starting point to remove all of the hassle.

This looks awesome. Nice job.

One question though…I’m in Canada. Is there a simple switch to changing states to provinces? Or can I simply add provinces in with the states? And does it accept postal codes instead of zip codes? Or both?

Thanks Tawnya

Tawnya,

Not a problem. I can easily switch out the states with provinces and change zip to postal code on the front-end. The PayPal script does call a country code and a currency. I would contact PayPal to see if they take the Canadian country code and currency. Also, the state and zip are being passed in to PayPal, so you may have to check with them to see if the variable names change with country.

Thank you for the interest in the script!

Hi there,

Is this script easy to modify to work with another bank api code and not with Paypal ?

Thanks

Yes. The form posts to a file called thank_you.php. The thank you page processes all of the PayPal. The index page is just a front end form with all of the necessary front-end JavaScript. All you would have to do is edit the thank_you.php page to process with a different provider.

I have been looking for something like this for a while, but I have 2 questions!

1. Does this send an email when a payment has been made to someone? Or can that be set up in paypal?

2. In the reporting pages of paypal does it keep the address that is filled out as well?

I have PayPal Pro, but I know you need to add extra fields to collect that data. Im hoping this script does!

Thanks!

cashcollege,

Thank you for purchasing the script.

1. Does this send an email when a payment has been made to someone? Or can that be set up in paypal?

  • I believe PayPal has it setup to notify when a payment has come through, but you will have to contact PayPal in regards to the settings of your account. I know my PayPal account does notify me via email.

2. In the reporting pages of paypal does it keep the address that is filled out as well?

From what I saw in PayPal it only kept the name of the user. However, you could easily couple this with a database and store all the transactions without the credit card information.

Great Job! I know this more for a one time shopping cart but would it be possible to make it so someone could sign up with a monthly service? So it would bill the card every month? If this can be done pretty easy I will go ahead and pick this up.

Thanks and again great job.

I checked out the API documentation from PayPal, https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/e_howto_api_WPRecurringPayments, and it is a setting you will just need to setup on the processing page.

Should be fairly easy.
