Hi, I’ve got the comment system up and running perfectly. Great script!

I have only one problem. How do I change the format of the date in the template? It’s currently in this format: 2012-01-10 19:54:02

But I would like to change it to: 10-01-2012 19:54:02 or just: 10-01-2012

Sorry I was on vacation.

To change the date format you can do this.

Inside the Comments.php, find the function called “loadComments” (line 140).

Change the SQL from
$query = "select * from comments where comment_item_id = '$id'";

$query = "select comment_id, comment_text, comment_website, comment_name, date_format(comment_date,'%m-%e-%Y') as comment_date from comments where comment_item_id = '$id'";

For other date format’s check out the MySQL Date Format

Can i Use your Comment for add a main Comment and the (i was saving the data in a mysql databse with the ID) can i us the Script for comment the maincomment (there a becomes the main id as parameter in the mysql databse) ?

The comment system does allow you to provide your own ID’s for each of the comments, so in short yes you can do that.

Hi, I have problems with the setup. I typed in the mysql data in database.php and uploaded the files to my FTP -Server.

But there are these errors when I load the index.php:

Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_OLD_FUNCTION’ or `T_FUNCTION’ or `T_VAR’ or `’}’’ in /mnt/webj/c3/09/5500909/htdocs/comments/classes/Comments.php on line 21

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: comments in /mnt/webj/c3/09/5500909/htdocs/comments/index.php on line 4

Can you help me?

In the Comments function did you set the install directory variable?

$install_directory = ‘variable’; It doesn’t work! :-( same errors

Can you zip up your folder and send it to me?

That error should not happen because the “Autoloader” should kick in and load that file automatically.

Contact me via email and we will sort it out.

Hello, Can you advise me please I am a relative newbie to php? I have purchased your comments system and would like to integrate it into a web page?

Ideally I would like to insert into a webpage so users can add comments. I don’t need to involve a database at this point, just simply display comments once added.

Can you advise me on how to do this?

Hello, is giving the error below, the Pear library is installed on the server …

Strict Standards: Non-static method PEAR::raiseError() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in /home/novas/public_html/comente/classes/Flexy.php on line 720 Could not find Template commentbox.html in any of the directories Path To Your Installation Directory/templates

Try changing the ini_set command found in “Comments.php” to the following

ini_set('include_path', get_include_path() .PATH_SEPARATOR. $install_directory .'/library');

Hi, I’m having some trouble getting this to work. I installed the database correctly, uploaded all the files and I’m getting this error:

Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /home/content/05/10172105/html/pro/classes/Validator.php on line 16

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/05/10172105/html/pro/classes/Validator.php:16) in /home/content/05/10172105/html/pro/comment_add.php on line 17

Any help on how to solve this?

The error is because in 5.3 ereg was replaced with “preg_match”.

The warning happens because your PHP is telling you that “ereg” is replaced and it needs to be updated.

Update the Validator.php function isEmail with the following

public function isEmail($emailAddress)
        $exp = '/^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]+)*(\.[a-z]{2,3})$/';

        return preg_match($exp, $emailAddress);

ah okay. thank you so much. that worked!

this file looks nice, I was wondering if I can implement this into my php and mysql.

Is it possible to comment to attach a picture or video? How to do it?
