Just tried your plugin with a “random posts” setting but the widget shows the very same set of posts listed for a post. When I refreshed a post, for example, the “random” posts list does not change at all. Thus, each post has a specific set of “random” posts displayed every time.
Please make it properly and completely “random” for the random setting, because this is a critical bug. Then, please include two options: (1). for changing on-hover animation type, and (2) for changing the font used, just use an option to choose font from Google Fonts.
Thanks for reporting this issue. I’m going to include those new features on next version. Im sure all of them are good ideas for improving pluing. I will notice you when new version is on market
Could you please show me an example of this widget using post’s featured images?
This widget builts by default a color scheme. On this version we can’t show featured images.
Please take a look to my other plugin http://codecanyon.net/item/top-stories-most-viewed-recent-posts-widget/4076959 this one could be helpful to you.
Hi – I just purchased this and it looks great but I (perhaps mistakenly) assumed I would be able to add the recent posts as shortcode rather than just widget. This is v. important for my post layout as I can include it in the post rather than tagged on at the end.
Is this possible?
Hi – I left this in comments too – not sure which is best to contact you:
Sorry, this version does not include shortcode option. But it sounds as a great feature to include on the next one. I will work on that and let you know when these change gets ready.
One other question – I would like to be able to show the most popular posts in a specific time period (e.g. today, this week), not necessarily just those published in that period. I assumed this would be a core option but am I missing it?
No, I have another plugin with this feature working, but now that you mention, I think would be a good idea to include with this one. I will let you know when this option will be available give me a couple of days.
That would be awesome if you could – thanks!
Any progress on showing the most popular posts in a time period, rather than just those published in that time period?
Yes!! Since version 2 you can filter most popular from this today, this week, this month, this year
What’s the date on version 2 – the last update I can see is Dec 2015 – is that the one?
Added option to filter posts by tag and custom post type
Added the option to filter by more than one categorie per widget
Added the option to exclude categories for a certain widget
Added the option to control content update interval
Added the option to specify a custom update interval for content (I.E
Update widget content every Hour, date, week, month)
Added google fonts catalog to control font family displayed on widget
Please consider implementing tabs on this plugin. I would like to have popular and recent posts in one widget, with a tab between the two. It takes up a lot of space on the website to use two instances of a widget like this. Better if it can be done in one.
Two more suggestions:
One is to give Recent Posts an option to choose how many to display at most, just like the the option in Popular posts. I’m quite disappointed that option is missing. I realize there is a Filter By Date option, but that is not an adequate work-around.
The other suggestion is to give an option to change the height of the boxes to make them skinnier. This would save space on my website. Though I would not care about this if you implemented the Tabs I suggested above, as that would also save space.
Thanks. I hope you might be able to do these!
1. Place the widget in the sidebar
2. Edit a post and change its title
3. Note that the widget has not updated the title. You have to remove the widget and re-add it before the title will update.
The same bug probably also happens if you edit the text of an article. Probably the excerpt shown in the widget will not update.
One more bug: Widget does not support more than two instances. Third instance added to a sidebar does not appear.
Okay, now I can get it to work with three instances. But it did in fact have that bug earlier.
Found two more bugs:
1. I had two instances active in the sidebar. I removed both of them. I refresh the page repeatedly, but the widgets are still there! I deactivate the plugin entirely, and then the widgets disappear. Then when I reactivated the plugin, the widgets are still displaying! When I go to the Appearance/Widgets section on the back and, I see the two instances are still present in the sidebar. I was unable to reproduce this bug again though.
2. I previously had an instance of Popular Posts, set to 10 posts limit. It displayed all 7 posts I have on my site at present. Later on, when I deleted that instance, and recreated it, this time the Popular Posts only shows 2 posts, even though I still have it set to display up to 10 posts.
Also the “Filter Post Since” field does nothing at all. Lot of bugs here…
With plugin update some of your problems were solved::
+ Now you can control width and eight
+ Now you can control the number of posts displayed on recent posts option
+ Filter by date were improved to periods of time (this week, this year, this month)
+ I have tried to reproduce your problems with first and last link with out success could you mention whant kind of content are you using
+ Were updated the method to change widget instance now widget changes instantly
+ Widget on live preview is working with more than two instances so i think there is no problem with that
+ Plugin were updated this time posts number control works with recent posts
+ Widget is configured to save configuration until you click on delete button
+ Plugin tabs need to wait to next update. Cause there are many configurations
Hi! I installed the plugin, but the color change does not work.
Could you provide an url to see whats going on?
You have a problem with another plugin or script on your current wp installation.
Problem is caused by a function on file load-more.js …..deactive the plugin that make use of thos script and widget will work corectly
I downloaded v1.2. Where do I download latest version? Thx!
Is there any way to list most commented posts during the last 30 days in Coliris 2.0?
Hello, love this beautiful widget. Just have one problem – although I leave the first 2 page selections unchecked, they still show up in the sidebar widget. I tried checking and unchecking them, but that did not work. Please help because I can’t use the plugin if it displays this way. Thanks so much!

Hi there – I’ve had to disable the plugin because it seems to have started causing the database to lock and creating ‘database connection error” messages. Any idea what could be causing this?
