How to install the application?

Step 1

Download the application package from CodeCanyon, upload it to your server and unzip all files to the desired location on your web server.

Note for VPS, VDS, dedicated server users: please ensure that web server (usually www-data user) has WRITE permissions to these folders: app/data/history, config, db/seeds, logs, tmp.

Step 2

Create a MySQL (or MariaDB) database on your server, as well as a database user who has all privileges for accessing and modifying it.

Step 3

Run the app installation script by accessing the URL in a web browser. This should be the URL where you uploaded the app files. If you installed the app in the root directory, you should visit: http://example.com/ If you installed the app in its own subdirectory called “coincompare”, for example, you should visit: http://example.com/coincompare/

If everything is done right you should see the installation web page.

Step 4

Input database credentials, click “Next” button.

Step 5

Input admin user email and password, click “Next” button.

Step 6

Specify the default currency (USD, EUR, GBP etc), create a FREE openexchangerates.org API key and input it in the form, click “Next” button.

Step 7 (post installation)

Congratulations! The app is installed. Other things to do:

  • Log in to the backend and customize the app settings.
  • Set up a cron job in order to automatically update coins and currencies market data on a regular basis (check Cron page in the backend for further instructions).

I’m getting 404 – Page Not Found when installing the app

Please check that URL rewrite is enabled and custom .htaccess files are allowed by your webserver configuration. In case of Apache correct configuration (the config file is usually located in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/) would look something like that:

  <Directory /var/www/yourwebdirectory>
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
    AllowOverride All
    Order allow,deny
    allow from all
  </Directory>

AllowOverride should be set to All.

I’m getting 500 – Internal Server Error when installing the app

Please check logs/trace.log file for any error messages. If you are not sure how to resolve the issue please send the error log to us.

I’m getting “Class ‘Inc\Logger’ not found” error when installing the app

Please ensure you have copied all files, especially those starting with ”.” (.htaccess, config/.framework.ini etc), sometimes they are hidden and you may not notice them.

I forgot admin password. What should I do?

Starting from version 1.4.0 you can reset the password by email. If you have an earlier version installed or don’t have access to your mailbox use the following guide.

Input a new password and generate its hash using this tool: http://www.passwordtool.hu/php5-password-hash-generator

Then update the password column in the user table (via PHPMyAdmin or a similar MySQL database management tool) with the generated hash.

After that you can log in to the backend using the new password.

How to upgrade the app to the latest version

  1. Log in to the backend (http://yourwebsite.com/login).
  2. Download the latest version from CodeCanyon and upload all files to your server by FTP / cPanel etc (overwrite old files with new ones).
  3. Open Update config & database page and click Update button.
  4. Clear your browser cache.

Please note that if you changed any of the app core files (other than overriding header/footer templates, routes, changing language strings and adding custom CSS) you will need to back them up first, install the new version and then manually apply your custom changes.

What are the system requirements?


Please ensure that the following system requirements are met:

  • URL rewrite enabled (usually enabled by default in most environments)
  • PHP 5.5 – 7.3
  • MySQL 5.1.0 or above
  • Access to cron (scheduled jobs)
  • PHP functions set_time_limit, php_uname, parse_ini_file should not be disabled

Warning: This is NOT a WordPress plugin or theme and can not be integrated with WordPress. Though you can install this application to a sub-folder of your WordPress website.

How to disable red / green flash animation when prices change?

Create a file called style-udf.css inside assets/css folder and add the following lines there:

Please ensure that parse_ini_file PHP function is not added to disabled functions. You might need to contact your hosting support to enable it.

How many times can I use the product?


Both Regular and Extended licenses entitle you to use the product to create a single website.

What it means in practical terms is that not only you can not run multiple copies of the product on more than one website (domain) at a time, but also you can not start another website using the same license even if you delete the previous one. Basically, you need to purchase a new license for each single use of the product.

Exception is made when you migrate from a development environment / domain to production.
