Hi,

I just bought the plugin, but it turns out I am a bit disappointed. I bought it mainly because you promise syncing WP users to a MailChimp list.

I’ve bought and set up the plugin correctly – it is connected to my mailchimp list.

It turned out that it cannot sync with existing WP users. OK I can live with that since I will do an one time export / import of users.

But when I set everything up and then registered a new user through WordPress, it didn’t appear in MailChimp in any way. OK, I was set up double opt-in. No confirmation email was present.

Then I switched off the double-opt in option and did another user registration. N effect. The mailchimp list is still empty.

If there is a problem, I cannot see any indcation or email about that.

Please, help me to make the plugin work right. If it is not possible, unfortunately, I would proceed to get a refund.

Thank you very much in advance! Boril Bogoev

P.S.: Your ticket form failed and I couldn’t send my ticket, that’s why I am writing a comment here. Will send you my purchase code upon request.

Hi Boril,

Sorry to hear about those issues – we’d like to do our best to resolve them.

Please either try again with the form or just send your request to support@rightpress.com

There Questions: 1. Is there a possibility to use “subscipe to unlock” with your membership plugin. 2. What if user is already subscripted, will it show again ? 3. Possible to manage subscriptions in User Dashboard ?

One more question: 4. I got WPML (2 Languages), so i got 2 different front-pages. Is it possible to do one form for each ? (Screenshot only show option “Frontpage”)

Hi!

Thank you for reaching out. Here’s the answers to your questions:

1 – There’s currently no direct connection between those plugins, but no conflict either, so yes, you can use them both together, but if user subscribes using one – it won’t affect the other one’s blocking.

2 – It’ll show again if user has no data saved about subscribing in his cookies or meta. It should be improved in future versions.

3 – No, unfortunately it’s not yet possible.

4 – It should be possible, but might need some custom code changes. Submit a support ticket to us, so we could help you with that.

Hi will you be coming out with any more updates with this plugin? The last update i see if from 18 August 14 ?

Hi!

Yes, there are planned update with a lot of changes. But unfortunately no ETA for this at the moment.

Kirill

Hi Can this plugin integrate with jetpack comments and make checkbox there? See more the screenshots 1. http://take.ms/0kTYJ 2 .http://take.ms/1AcSI

Kind Regards Søren

Hi Søren,

In WordPress there are default action hooks used for this:

- “comment_form” to attach the checkbox to form

- “comment_post” to process the subscription after comment was posted

If there are similar hooks provided with this extension, then yes – with some custom changes it should be possible to implement.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Last Update 18 August 2014?

Hi!

Yes, that’s right.

New version is scheduled for release in the next few months.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Kirill

Next update will take another “few months”...? Amazing. So we can expect an update once every 2.5 years..? That’s not solid and best in class practice for a software developer. I think I will continue to look elsewhere.

Hi!

Thank you for a frank opinion! That’s true – update is delayed, but we’ll do our best to improve this in future.

Hello..we are developing a website for client who wants to have a pop-up to collect Emails connected to Mailchimp and would like to have a pop on the website and connect to MailChimp. It should work like this:

Plugin should look in the cache and then

- If user is already subscribed, then don’t pop up - If user has already opted out, then don’t pop up - Otherwise, Pop Up in “x” seconds.

So can this be done by your plugin?

Thanks!

Hi!

Thanks for reaching out!

In current version popup can be blocked only if user clicked “Dismiss” on it, subscribed from some form on your site, or once per some amount of pages. All that data is stored in cookies, and unfortunately not yet communicating with MailChimp to get more recent data on current user.

We’ll imrove this in future versions.

Hi Kirill, Thank you for the information…

Hello, I am using the pop-up form to appear on my site after 60 seconds. The only problem is that it still appears even after a user is logged in and has subscribed. Is there some way I can disable the pop up under the condition they have already subscribed? Thanks

Hi!

In current version pop-up is mostly controlled by cookies, so if user subscribed, there will be cookie that’ll prevent pop-up. If cookies were cleared, then unfortunately it’ll be showing up. We’ll improve this behavior in new version.

Hi,

I was wondering if this will work with WPML? I am running a site in English and Danish so I need both languages for this plugin. Usually the translation is done through WPML.

Hi!

This could be limited in current version, but full WPML support is planned for future versions.

Kirill

Mailchimp is deprecating their API’s version 1 and 2 within 3 weeks. Is there a plan to upgrade to version 3? The plugin will literally stop working altogether in 3 weeks.

On the blog post you shared it also says “we can no longer guarantee the availability of these older endpoints after that date”. I wouldn’t want to wake up one day and find that Mailchimp integration no longer works..

Hi there,

We are working on this and will be sure to announce the release of a new version as soon as it is out.

Great to hear! Thanks for the response :)

Hi there,

Great start to a good plugin, but falls short. Or am I missing something?

1) Is not mobile responsive 2) Pop up cannot be styled 3) Css/html is broken

There is a transparent space between main body and footer, see here: http://urlgone.com/a04af6/

Hmm, upon css bug inspection i see my theme (enfold) is adding margin. #top fieldset { margin-bottom: 20px; >> Perhaps you should have #chimpy selectors to avoid this?

Looks like your link doesn’t work anymore. But I see that you found an issue – that’s a common thing when theme overrides some styles and adding specific selectors will not help, as mostly those themes use general selectors (i.e. ‘header’, ‘footer’, etc.). We’ll try to add some protection from this in future version.

Hi, I have the double op in conformation enabled. but it displays my personal email address after this line of text once a user subscribes. “For questions about this list, please contact:” How do I change that line of text or even the email address that follows it, I can’t find a setting for it?

I have a second question as well, is there a way to make the pop-up responsive for mobile devices?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Thanks for reaching out. Please submit a support ticket to us with temporary login credentials, so we could look into your setup.

As for pop-up responsiveness – it’s not yet available, but will be coming in new version.

Kirill

Are popup forms responsive for mobile?

Hi!

No, unfortunately it’s not yet implemented in current version, but will be in next update.

Kirill

Is it possible to set Chimpy up so that when a new user registers on my Wordpress site they get a welcome email with tips etc?

Hi there,

Yes, you can use the built-in Sync functionality which will add new WordPress users to one of your MailChimp lists and you can set a welcome email to be sent to anyone added to that list.

I bought this and then saw it hadn’t been updated in 2.5 years… hopefully this actually still works.

Well it works.. it is really ugly, but it works. Is there an easy way to style the forms.. or skip the styling completely, as my theme already has forms styled.

Hi!

Sure, you can disable the default styling in settings, or override CSS rules there as well.

Kirill

Are the email addresses stored in the plugin?

Hi!

No, emails is just passed to MailChimp, not stored. Could you explain what you mean in more details please?

Kirill

Hi there!

I want to buy this plugin but our Country has serious laws about privacy policy. Is there any solution that user has to check the checkbox before submission with text like: “I understand the privacy policy…” ? Thank you for your support!

Hi!

It is possible to set such link within your post/page and use shortcode to display the form, but unfortunately it’s not yet possible to set such checkbox to be required before submitting a form.

How can I disable the call for font-awsome? It causes a lot of problems in my web site. Thanks!

Hi!

Could you tell us what kind of problems it causes?

As for disabling it, just find 2 instances of this line in main file of plugin and comment them out or remove: wp_enqueue_style(‘chimpy-font-awesome’);

Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Kirill

Hi, i can´t see the icons of font awesome on the preview, all of them are appearing as ”?”, and they show after seleccting… so it takes too long to guess what simbol is

Hi!

Could you please submit a support ticket to us with temporary login credentials? We’ll look into your setup and try to fix this.
