Yes, this is still a major problem. Posts have not been going through since about May 2021 when I reauthenticate … all of the posting locations on Blog to Google – Locations list… becomes Empty.
This product is no longer working from what I can tell.

Hi Szabi, many thanks. The locations disappeared from the old version, i have updated to the latest version and when i try it then gets an error: There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. So the old version did nothing, but the new version breaks it. I shall send you through the website details via email.

Hey there, the Plugin has been working great. I would like to find out it is possible to make it so that it publishes to Google My Business, not only when a post is “Published” but also when a post is “Updated”? as we have several thousand posts that are already published by not on our google my business and I would like to gradually update all of our post, and send these to google mybusiness at the same time. Please advise

First of all, thank you for your purchase.
Currently, the plugin can do what you need only if you republish the posts you update. This means that you should revert the posts temporarily to “draft” after you updated them and them hit “publish” once again for these posts.
As a result, the plugin will post them again to GMB.

O, i have had to stop using the plugin suddenly and here is why. My website is an ecommerce website… when a new product is created, it uses post type “download” and posts these perfectly to google now… nicely done however when a customer buys a digital download product, it creates a download post for that user to download the product. for example: /post_type=edd_log&p=1002909 . and what is happening.. it this plugin is also posting those… which is essentially registering as a download, our users get 3 download attempts, and every time they try to download it, the plugin posts the link to google instead.. essentially breaking the ecommerce aspect of the website. Now I tried adding in banned words list “post_type=edd” and in required words list I put /downloads/ (our standard post type)........ however these did not work, and it continues to post download links to google anyway. So please kindly fix the banned words list so it works or a way of adding one custom post type and banning another please. Currently I have set the plugin to manual, I may end up having to get a programmer to fix it so we can use it. I love the plugin but just cannot use it due to the above.

I updated the plugin to v1.0.3.3, added a new settings field in ‘Posts to Google My Business’ plugin menu -> ‘Disable Autoposting of These Post Types’. Here you can set a comma separated list of post types that will not be posted.
In your case, this should be: edd_log

Fantastic, this worked beautifully. to turn off all notifications for Easy Digital Downloads we added the following “edd_log,edd_payment,edd_commission” now it works and posts perfectly! :))) thank you

Also, here is a very important update… a way to flag a post as “do not post this” to google…. for example our website is now autoposting stuff to google perfectly.. however occasionally one of the posts contains nudity.. This potentially might get our business blocked if I cannot stop the plugin from autoposting that one post. Currently I have to autopost it.. then go to google and immediately delete it.

Right now, you can use tags or categories to prevent automatic posting of certain posts. You should set a set of predefined tags to posts containing nudity and set in plugin settings -> ‘Disable Autoposting of Selected Tags’ settings field, the tag for which you wish to not make the Google My Business posting.

%post_tags % do not work for custom post types

Custom post types do not have the generic tags that the %post_tags % shortcode imports, because of this, they will not be able to be fetched by this shortcode.
The tags of custom post types are custom taxonomies, these cannot be imported in the current version of the plugin, using the autoposting feature to Google My Business.

Hi there, I have managed to get this up and running now, good plugin thanks, but there are a number of problems… first problem is… the BUY Button does not work… currently I use the learn more button and that works fine, here are the error codes from the LOG: Exception thrown in Google Business posting: { “error”: { “code”: 400, “message”: “Invalid value at ‘local_post.call_to_action.action_type’ (TYPE_ENUM), \”BUY\””, “errors”: [ { “message”: “Invalid value at ‘local_post.call_to_action.action_type’ (TYPE_ENUM), \”BUY\””, “reason”: “invalid” } ], “status”: “INVALID_ARGUMENT” } }

The Google My Business API was changed recently, they removed the BUY button type, and they do not support it’s usage any more.
Please update the plugin to v1.0.3.1, it will have the BUY button type removed.

The plugin is able to post to GMB business locations you select. It can post to all of them, but still, GMB API (that my plugin uses) is limited by a rate limiting system from Google. This means that they will allow you to post a maximum number of posts in a period of time (depending of multiple factors).
Also, the plugin supports automatic posting of newly published articles on your blog, and manual posting of old posts, with the push of a button, on each post’s edit page (this needs to be done manually, one by one, on each post).
