In your example, the menu only opens to the right. What happens when one gets to the edge on the right? Do they stay on the screen by then opening left? If not, how would the far right menu have multiple levels?

It’s very pretty.

First, the menu has unlimited menu levels.

Secondly, your idea is not very practical because:

1. There is no way to detect when the menu reaches the right edge with CSS only. That means you need to do some manual modifications. That’s not very convenient, because the site users will have very different screen resolutions. So, the menu could reach the edge for a user with 1280×1024, but not for a user with 1920×1080.

2. A navigation with so many submenus is not very usable. It really needs another structure.

3. A submenu opened to the left could overlap one of the submenus opened to the right.

I hope this helped and I’m glad you like the design :)

Looks nice man, good luck with sales.

Thank you very much! :)

Nice work! Installation was easy and straight forward. Thank you.

One mod that I made was formatting the last link dropdown so the submenu didn’t go off the page.

You’re welcome! I’m glad that you like it and that it was easy to use! :)

Hi, lovely work… but I noticed that reducing the font-size (even down to just 15px), made the drop-down ‘stick’ a little less. It was harder to catch it. Is there some correlation between the two? Thx :)

Hello!

Thank you for your purchase! Regarding your problem, reducing the font-size makes the dropdown menu smaller and leaves too much spaces between it and the parent link. So, when you try to “catch it”, it dissapears because the pointer will hover the empty space. Of course, if you move the pointer very fast, the submenu won’t dissapear because it doesn’t have enough time.

Hi… thx for the fast response! One last question - if I also reduce the overall menu size (reduce the padding in general link styling) - which part of the code can I modify to make up for the lost space between menu + parent (if possible)?

Thx :)

You have to modify the property top for the first level submenus (line 153) and the property left for the level 2+ submenus (line 159).

Hi, just one question, i’ve made some change on your script, but i have problem on align the menu in the center.. here the problem http://sanispiradpi.com/Struttura_pagine/prova.php There is too much empty space!!!

Can you help me please???

Hello!

Yes, I can help you. Please contact me via email :)

How can I center this menu?

Add the property margin: auto; to the .nav selector. If you still have problems centering the menu, please contact me via email (you can do that from my profile page).

Have a good day! :)

Can I put this menu in the body of a page (as a widget, maybe?) or does it only integrate with Wordpress’s and the theme’s menu system?

Yes, you can put this menu inside the body of an HTML page. This menu is not a WordPress plugin, it requires certain modifications to be integrated into a WordPress theme.

Menu does not work properly using <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC ”-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN”> What doctype should be used? Larry

Your menu looks heavily modified. Do you have this problem with the original demos provided by me?

That is really strange. For some reason, IE9 is apparently using a mix between IE9 standards and IE5.5 standars when you’re using that doctype. The document has no relevant errors. The CSS file doesn’t have any errors either, I’ve checked with the W3C Validator, Firebug and Chrome Inspector. I really can’t explain this behaviour. Even stranger, it works just fine for me in IE9, but when I test it with some online tools, it breaks in IE9.

Anyway, try using this in the head of the HTML file: <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=edge” />

That works as a temporary solution but you would never know what “edge” may bring to a page in the future. Probably better to change doctype to html5 Thanks

Hi…the drop down does not work in Safari on IPAD. The links drop down, but as you know when you hover the parent menu on safari it selects the parent menu and quickly goes to the linked page rather than display the drop down first. How do I resolve this? Thanks.

I’m sorry, but I don’t have a solution for this. It can be achieved with JavaScript, but the link which contains the dropdown won’t work anymore. Its only purpose will be to open the dropdown on touch/click.

Is this a known existing problem? I mean has anyone else had problems with this as well? I’m just trying to figure out if something is wrong on my end. Thanks.

It’s not actually a problem, this is how every non-responsive menu works. Even the CodeCanyon menu works the same way.

Hi, two questions:

1) Can I modify the color to an exact color I need or am I limited to the pre-defined color schemes?

2) Can I set the width to a fixed width and will the menu auto center or will it have space on the right if there aren’t enough menu items?

Thank you.

Yes, you can modify the colors but you can’t center the menu items if you set a certain width.

Hi,

Looks very nice! Congrats. I wanna buy it but i have a question: Can i put a calendar inside a submenu item? I wanna make a submenu with this items:
  • Today
  • This week
  • This weekend
  • This month
  • “A calendar so the user can select a specific date or date range”

Can i do it?

Hi,

It should be possible with some customization, but I’m not sure. What HTML elements would the calendar use? Also, those items you mentioned (today, this week etc), each one of them will occupy a submenu item?

Can we do he sub-menus as 2 columns?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible.

how do I align the center of the page and at the top?

I’m not sure I understand the question. You want to align the menu to the center of the page?
