I did hear back from the developer, and while the plugin is not going to work for my use case, they did work with me to fix the issue and get the plugin to appear properly on my website. For others considering this plugin, please be aware that users cannot use the chat anonymously in one master chat room. They must be registered via BuddyPress and you must have those users in a specific Group Chat. It is not an open "Group Chat" for any visitor to your website.

I have to give this a one star rating. It has caused my Wordpress based site major problems which I will describe.

I have around 300 site members, but over 2000 in the BP database who did a free trial.

My first time using this plugin, it listed all 2000+ users and the devs were responsive - giving me a css code to show only those user s online.

So everything looked fine but there were huge problems brewing

My host, WPengine (one of the top hosting platforms) informed me that they moved my site to an "emergency server" - because I was using too many system resources.

It turns out, the "Better User Chat" plugin was doing close to 1 million queries a day to the database - as shown by the log files. So, more than likely the plugin was doing these 2000+ requests either with each user or maybe even each page load.

Since deleting the plugin, activity on the site has gone back to normal, according to the techs.

As you can imagine, this has cost me enormous time and hardship. I am currently re-scheduling a migration back to a normal server environment.

Working well. My only issue is the chat data doesn't join with the private messages from BuddyPress or BuddyBoss. Unlike FB which join together the private message with chat data. Can we join it?

This is a GREAT plugin! Works with BuddyPress and Youzer too. Support is fast, pleasant, and helpful. I would like to see more design improvements and better mobile UX/UI in the near future. Can't wait for the next updates. Cheers!

This is by far the very best chat plugin created for buddypress in such a long time.

The quality of the plugin, the code and the design are amazing and it simply looks a million dollars on my site and doesnt look like a paid for plugin if you know what i mean.

The best part of all this is that i purchased this plugin not to use with buddypress at all but instead to use with something called buddyboss which is a premium theme and plugin for wordpress which is a folk off of buddypress.

I took a gamble buying this as i didnt know if it would work with buddyboss out of the box but it actually does.

So buddypress or buddyboss you can use this awesome plugin, i would go buy it guys you wont be dissapointed.

As soon as you activate the plugin it will connect to either all members or friends only and it has settings to change the color themes which all look very nice.
