Can Apache Hadoop be used for handling data etc?
If not, can you offer a guide on how i can implement this with userbase?
I’ve not really ever looked into Hadoop in any detail.

It looks like the system could run mysql as normal with the Hadoop software handling its own part of the process.
Not sure if that is any help. Not having any experience with Hadoop I’d not really offer too much assistance in this.

It is possible to use it to control multiple sites as long as those sites can access the central database.
Mobile apps – this will require a bit of work in terms of how you do the authentication on the phone side of thing but yes it can be used to do this as well.
The difference between unibody.php and _ubase is that _ubase contains ONLY the user management elements. The main unibody.php also contains the site stats sections as well.

I finally installed the system. However, there seems to be a problem.
1) Do I have to upload both 1.2.9 and 1.3.5 folders?
2) Do I have to populate with test database?
3) After intallation, of 1.3.5 beta only… I cant login via admin.. It just shows the loading gif, next to the login button.
4) main/index page isn’t working
Error message “Looks like our server is having a few issues. Try accessing our site in a few moments.”

1/ No, please upload v1.3 – this is the one that being updated and built upon for the future.
2/ No, you do not have to populate with test data. That’s just so you can see it in action. Even without test data you will still get the admin account + other data (basic user groups etc) that are needed for the system to work.
3 and 4/ Looks like your database connections are not working. Can you open up config/config_global.php and the first 4 settings. Should start with DB_ – check these are correct for your database.
For the code “500” error – can you have a look at your php error logs to see if you can see anything related to that page you accessed when you got that error…Please get back to me on this one.

The issue was with my database password. It seems like authentication didnt work too well. as the first db password i typed in the installer actually saved to config_global. although it was a typo.
So, when i actually typed the correct db password installation when through without correcting the first entry. Issue Fixed.

You can create more admin accounts via logging into the admin area. You’ll find this by navigating to the admin/ folder in your browser.
Here create a new user with the user groups set to “administrator”.
The login-twitter.php and openID files should be present in the package you downloaded inside the index/ folder…is this not the case?
Hi, just a quick PRESALE QUESTION:
1. I have a client with a Lab Clinic for medical purposes. Im developing his website but he wants to implement a system where he could give clients a login username and password so clients can access the system via their website and check their lab tests reports online, obviously only their reports so it would need to be super secure with uploading files capability from the admin to the client user and set an expiration date so the database wont get full in no time.
Is this possible with this PHP Script ?

It would require some custom coding for the upload facility. In terms of expiring the database:
if you mean the files/reports have say a 10 days validity period then you can record this in the database and then run a cronjob (if using a unix/linux server) or a scheduled task (for windows) on a PHP script which will remove the record from the database + remove any related files.
On top of that a lot of the security element will come from network and server security. You have to make sure you have this nailed down. This includes making sure none of the files or folders have open permissions etc etc.
I think there is one folder which handles user profile images in userbase which may need to have it’s permissions locked down further for the type of website you are developing. But this is a simple case of changing the folder permissions.

Note: Want to preserve your existing flow of user going back to protected page if it was the protected page that redirected user to index.php.

I have a pre-buy question. I need to know if I am able to set a login for a specific link within a website for only specific users to login to. Additionally, will this plugin give me the capability to see what users have successfully logged in, and how many times they have logged in to view informational material.
All of this is possible with some custom coding but cannot be done out of the box.

The latest version use mysql however it would not be hard to change the code to use mysqli or PDO (I think I have the code for this somewhere – just not rolled out into a release yet).

Is it possible to see all users in the admin page (All inn the database)? It looks like I cannot see users that is not confirmed.
It should be possible – can you make sure in the search area that you are not filtering on the “account status” filter. If this is okay then is it possible for you to send me a link to your installation so I can have a look.

I tried again with both the beta version and the stable version and at the dashboard it se that the new accont need activation, but in the userlist it does not se the new user. Checked the DB and the new record is fine there. Changed the active status manual to 1 in the DB but does not show in the user list.
If a add a new user from admin page everything works fine…
Are you registering the account on the front end and then looking for it in the dashboard?
Can you send me a step by step of your issue (which area you are looking at for the user list – for example is it in the home screen of the dashboard or the user management area etc) so I’m looking at the same area as yourself in case I’m misunderstanding the issue.
If you want to email me a link to your installation then that would help as well (along with details of which users are not showing up in your list but should be there)...
Also you should use v1.3.5 as this is the latest version and is stable (I know it says beta but it is stable to use).
Hello. I’ve just bought it and my question is: is there any way to block login with one account on two different computers at the same time?
For example warning, and if you click that you are aware goes to login on #2 and it logout #1?
I’m not 100% sure I understand the request.
If you’re using v1.3.5 then this will block log-in attempts on any computer after x number of failed log-in attempts as v1.3.5 blocks the account rather than just the session.

then on the same session (time) I want to log in on computer #2,
is there any way to get the message on computer #2 that your logged in somewhere else and are you sure you want to log in here (on #2), then when you’re sure it automaticly logsout #1 and login on #2.
This feature does not exist in the system at the moment. I could custom code this for you if you want to get in touch via email or if you’re happy to give it ago (if you’re a coder yourself) I can work through some concepts of how we could do this – just have to keep an eye out for any security implications…

I cannot created a level based website with restriction to page excluding everyone but the client.
The system will allow you to do the first part. For example you can pull out the users name, email etc and populate the contact form after they log-in. That’s simple enough to do.
Not sure about that last sentence in your comment above. Do you mean you need to create a level based website? If so then yes this is possible. You can restrict pages based on user groups and if you know the user ID of the client you can even restrict a page just for that client.
If that’s not the correct understanding of that last sentence then please let me know.

Did you make a local copy of local_config.php from the index folder to your new location (the same folder as index.php)?
If you have can you make sure that the setting inside that is updated to point / still points to config/config_global.php.
If this is not the issue can you please send me ftp details and a link to the site so I can investigate.

Second, when a user logs-in via an OpenID or Facebook… account, is the data (from user loged in) saved in the database ? I know i should be reading the Open-ID documentation or Facebook & twitter login Documentation… but can’t find that info… :/
When i mean user data (name, username, address…) (or which data is puled from their login ?)
The data is stored in the database. Currently this includes the email address and name if available (facebook and twitter).
Other data can be requested (this depends on if that particular service provides that data) but the code would have to be adapted to include that into the database.

None of the code is encrypted so you have access to everything (PHP, SQL, JS, HTML, CSS etc).
The script is designed for new projects/websites so this would fit the bill. In terms of adding new code it depends on what you need to add – as I mentioned earlier it’s all unencrypted so as long as you can code you should be okay.
So no problem adding to front or admin panel…amazing you can offer such a great script. +1 on the fast reply as well!!
There’s documentation for both the front and admin panel* (make sure if you do buy it that you start using v1.3.5 and not v1.2.9).
For the admin panel what sort of changes are you looking at (just so I can see if there will be any issues.)
*for the admin panel the documentation is mainly to do with adding fields to the user data areas – viewing data, editing it and adding to the search area etc.

There is a new release coming in the next few days which includes a direct Google+ log-in system and I’m looking to get PDO and MySQLi database connectors in the system too.
There are a few smaller features like copying a user that I may try to put in before releasing the new version.
Are there any features you were looking for in particular. I can try to roll them in if they are quick.
Google+ integration is now complete and has been submitted for approval.
It should be available for download in about 48 hours.

This is a pre-purchase query. Been evaluating a number of scripts and i am down to my final 2.
I would like to allow potential customers to create a basic account on my website first (which your script will do just fine).
However, once they have a login account, they can login and have an option to make a purchase by completing another form and making a payment.
They can then manage their account and the additional set of details completed in the second form.
Can your script be modified to do this and how would you advise best way to do it so that it doesn’t become too much of a custom script that will make it hard to benefit from your updates?
I see two options:
1. Extend the registration form to include ALL the data that is required but only show certain fields during the appropriate journey the user is in.
2. Create a separate table and use primary keys to join tables etc. For this option is your API able to deal with adding/removing/retrieving values from a secondary table not linked to the default registration table?
3. Do you see a better way?
It would not be hard to create the purchase section of the script which updates extra fields inside existing user_table table for those new detail and then use the existing “edit details” form inside the user area (this is edit details form is in v1.3 so you do not see it in the demo which is still on v1.2.9).
It would be very simple to extend this form to include your new data. This would require changing around 2 files to accommodate the new functionality. .

Last question, I am thinking about using the Stripe payment gateway integration. Would this be easy to integrate? Do you have plans to have this in the next update?

The documentation is up to date. There is a plan to include Stripe in to a coming version but I cannot say if it will be the next build (stripe is in the process of being integrated but it’s not finished and still needs testing so I don’t want to give any false expectations of the release of that version).

I would like to know if your script con easily be incorporate in an existing admin site. I would like to use it to protect a front office ( root folder), and the back office is in a folder in the root folder, I want to use the existing templates of my back office.
The script could be used to protect pages in that folder structures but I’m not sure what you mean by “incorporate in an existing admin site” – what do you mean by “incorporate”?
I already have a back office, rather simple boostrap and some php in the page template, i would like to insert the code of your admin pages in it.
I guess you could create an iframe and link the userBase admin page into that – that would be the easiest way.
You could try to copy the functionality across directly but that would require a lot more work and debugging.
