Hi there,

How do you reset the answers?

Thanks!

Cool – also it would be good to display results on a different tab, as with hundreds of answers it is loading slowly even on super fast database.

Yes, I’ll considering to find out a better way to display the results.

Thanks!

Kind Regards,
Pantherius

Hello pgmarkt,

Just would like to letting you know the reset feature is now available with the new version of the plugin.
I rethinked your request about displaying results and the plugin can already gives you the solution. You can create private posts and insert the answer shorcodes. With this method you can see the results separated from the other surveys on admin and still available only for you.

Best wishes,
Pantherius

I just bought the plugin and in the plugin directory tab I have this warning. Warning: file_get_contents(http://sympies.com/static/plugin_directory.html): failed to open stream: Connection timed out in /homez.808/cookzewe/www/wp-content/plugins/modal_survey/templates/settings.php on line 1564

Any idea ? THank you

Hello oliviaparis,

It looks like your server doesn’t support the file_get_contents command in PHP. (very strict server rules) You can remove that line from the settings.php on line 1564 (inside the templates folder), but it has no affects for the plugin’s functionality, because that’s only an informative HTML file about the new releases. When you call that URL in your browser, you’ll see that’s only a plugin list.

If you can’t remove that or even affects the plugin’s overall functionality, please send your FTP details for me via my profile page mail sender and I’ll do.

Kind Regards,
Pantherius

Thank you Pantherius for your quick answer ! I remove the line and it works. Nice, easy and not so expensive plugin ! I go back and follow my tests ! Regards Olivia

You’re very welcome, Olivia!
Thanks for the kind words.

Best regards,
Pantherius

Hi,

I’m interested. Is it possible to send the poll via emai?

For eg. I want to send an email poll with a question and the answer will be yes or no button. I want to track the feedback.

Please let me know.

Hi me_achu4u,

This is not a feature at the moment.
Making a vote via email is not a safe solution.

Kind Regards,
Pantherius

Hi, I am interested in buying this. My site is aen ecommerce site, not a blog. I see you talking about codes and such… is this a plugin I can just activate and it will work, or do I need to place codes somewhere?

Also, I want to make it so that it comes up after someone has been on my site for 1 min… no matter what page they are on, or where they have scrolled to on the page. Can this plugin do that?

THanks Jen

Hello Jen,

You can create global survey, in this case you don’t need to place any additional code to your website. But also possible to display custom surveys on a specified page with simple shortcode. Setting time delay for surveys is not a feature at the moment, but it is a good idea, maybe I will add this option to the plugin in the near future.

Kind regards,
Pantherius

Hi there,

Got a pre-sale question:

Is it possible to display results per user role? I need a survey-plugin for a big organisation, and I want to see the overall results as well as the results per section. Can I do this with your plugin?

Thanks, Stephan

Hi Stephan,

The plugin allows for all visitors to vote, so it can’t be limited for only registrated users. Therefore it hasn’t an option to filter the results by role at the moment.

Without registration, the survey will get much more votes, because the most of the users doesn’t go through the procedure of registration for only single vote.

Kind regards,
Panherius

HI,

It is posible setting the time limit for questions?

Hello dnlb2,

No. I don’t really understand why would be that useful. It can’t be use it like a game, because anyone can fill out without registration.

Kind regards, Pantherius

It’s for a quiz. I don’t want to they have time for search the answser on Internet? thanks

I see, but the plugin doesn’t displays the answers for each users, so you can’t give any prizes for the right answers. You can only see how many users voted for each answers.

Hi, I have a 10 question survey that needs to appear 1 question at a time with overall progress bar. Is this possible?

Hello Xancholy,

Currently, the plugins doesn’t contains a progress bar when displays the questions, but you can insert the question number, like 4/10 in the question’s text.

By the way, the overall progress bar is a really good idea, maybe it will be added in the next release.

Kind regards, Pantherius

Hi, sounds like a nice script! How do you prevent multiple surveys done by the same person many times?

Thanks AC

You’re welcome. No, this plugin using Cookies to prevent the users votes multiple times for the same survey. However, if they clear the cookies, they can fill out again the same survey. But it is very rare, if the survey isn’t give any prizes for the users. If you would like to absolutely avoid these few multiple votings, you have to find a plugin using usernames or user ids for the votes. Without registration it is impossible to avoid some re-voting.

OK, thanks! You’re helpful on answering questions. I will try to see what to do around your script. Thank you!

You’re very welcome!

Unless I set it to global it will not show up on the right side like on your demo. I want it only on one page. If i add the shortcode on the page, it will show at the bottom of the page not the bottom of the site. Am I missing something? Also the survey is as wide as the site and in the middle instead of small and on the right side like on your live preview.

Thanks, I just checked and found out the problem. On your blog page, the content coming from somewhere else, but not from the editor, therefore the shortcode can’t be applied.

When I copied the shortcode to a single post, it’s worked well. So, you can use it on pages/posts, where the content is static and coming from the editor.

Now, I put it to the start of the newest blog post and it’s appeared correctly on the blog page. But it won’t be display when that post will be removed from the blog page.

By the way, you checked the Display at Bottom, so don’t forget, in this case the Survey will display ONLY when the visitor scrolled down to the bottom. Just to let you know.

Also tried out and came up only once for me.
