Hi. Great plugin, thanks!

I’m using WP eCommerce plugin which allows only registered members to send eCards in a page.

Is there a way to let the recipient of the eCard view the card without having to subscribe? (e.g. Only Members send cards, but recipients can view the card without registering)

Thanks.

It already works like this, doesn’t it? Do you have a link for your site so I can test it myself?

Hi,

Sorry to repost, but the new version sends a text only with a link. This script used to send the image. Is this correct? The valentine card also did the same thing.

I tested my old version and the image is visible in my inbox for a godaddy client and yahoo.

Cheers, J

Hi, You’re welcome.

I see wpec requires login as per below, do you know if that true of woocommerce; which I’ll be using next week?

Kind regards, J

As far as I know, WooCommerce has public pages.

Also, Jackola, there is an option inside the plugin’s settings page, “Display eCard inside email”. See if it is selected.

Documentation for installation says: 1. Upload the wp-ecards folder to your '/wp-content/plugins/' directory

but in the download file, there is no such directory!.

???

The archive IS the directory. Just extract the archive into a directory called `wp-ecards`.

Ha I knew that! This was just a test. I do however have an issue. I have attached the images to the page and I have sent a few test emails and haven’t received any of them. I used to get a “email was sent successfully” message and would receive the email without an image but since I started attaching images to the page, I don’t receive a notification or an email at the specified email address.

I am having the same problem as MRADK . I have updated the options under the eCard panel, pasted the short code onto a page under the HTML tab and then inserted two images into the page and previewed in draft mode (i can’t push this live until it’s ready and working). I see the form and the two images on the page but when I fill it out and hit send, I receive the email but without an image. There is no visible way to ‘select’ an image (i.e. no radio buttons). Any help is appreciated.

You don’t have to insert the images into the page! Just attach them.

Any help regarding the below comment would be greatly appreciated too! :)

Hi I’m seeing great feeds about this plugin. I want to buy it since I missed it from the last bundle but I have one question. I design my own images and I have a great collection of them. I will like to have this tool but paying for every card sent since the images are my designs. Is this an easy and possible option to add to this plugin?

Thank you. There is no option for payment, and, to be honest, I’m not sure how should I approach the payment. Do you have an idea or another site that does this? I want to add this option, but I also want to make it really easy to use.

Hello, can I remove the URL from the bottom of the eCard recipient’s email? Our system is set up so that you donate to our organization, then receive the URL to go send the eCard. We don’t want the URL to be easily accessible to just anyone, if that makes sense.

Yes, it does make sense. I will ad an option for this, as an update is pending for tomorrow. You will have an option with “Enable/Disable URL Address”.

Hi again.

I know, but the problem is that you can’t select the picture you want to use. Try to see: http://www.romantikeren.dk/12-2

That would really be perfect! It would make it a lot easilier to drive traffic to the website. Thanks again!

You moved something inside the plugin! There is code missing! Am I right?

Please send me an email so we can chat faster. See my profile page – http://codecanyon.net/user/butterflymedia – bottom right.

Thank you for your help! But what if I want the visitor to choose from different pictures like here: http://getbutterfly.com/christmas-ecards/. If i insert more than one picture, you cant choose just one of them.

I also have another question. Is it possible to remove the picture from the email, so that the friend had to visit the website to see the picture and the text?

Thanks for the help!

You can insert more than one picture, but you can only select one to send.

Regarding your second question, you can’t do that right now. Maybe in the next update.

Perfect. La postal se envió correctamente. ¡La postal no se pudo enviar! ¡Código de verificación equivocado! Tu nombre Tu dirección email Dirección email de tu amigo Mensaje Escribe las tres primeras letras de la palabra spam

Can you help me again? i want to add a banner near the image, at the right, where can I insert the code? I think it’s too complicated for me

Thanks, I’ll update the plugin tomorrow morning.

Where do you want to insert the banner? In the post or inside the email?

Hi,

I have just bought the plugin. I have installed it and filled in the information requiered in the options. On a page I have written [ecard] so that the formular appears on my website but how/ or where do I add the pictures i want my visitors to choose from?

Sorry for asking such a stupid question :)

Hello, it’s not a stupid question.

You insert the image in the post just like any other image:

Click the Upload/Insert button, drag an image or two, or 10, or 50 and that’s it! Close the image upload window and Publish the post.

Hi again.

How can i translate to spanish this: Your name Your email address Your friend email address…

You need to:

1. Either use POEdit and open /languages/ecards-en_US.po, translate it and resave it as ecards-es_ES.po, or

2. Translate it and give it to me to integrate it into the plugin. Here’s the full list of strings:

  • eCard sent successfully!
  • eCard was not sent!
  • Wrong verification code!
  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your friend email address
  • eCard message
  • Type the first 3 letters of “spam”

Just reply here with the translated strings.

Thank you.

Yes, problem solved, i have a folder includes with functions.php

I removed it and problem solved.

Thanks a lot

You shouldn’t have deleted it. There some useful functions in there. Just put it back. It’ll work, as I’ve removed some paths.

Perfect, I can wait.

Hi, I get this error when trying to send a postcard.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ecards_thumbcatcher() in /home/render/public_html/mydomain/wp-content/plugins/postales/wp-ecards.php on line 137

I´m using wordpress 3.4.2 Any idea? Thanks.

That’s weird because I have that function included in the plugin. I’ll check something and get back to you. Anyway, a 1.5.12 release is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I’ll include a fix for this, too.

Did you update to 1.5.11? Do you have a folder called /includes/ and a file called functions.php inside?

So? Did you update? Latest version is now 1.6. Did you check to see the file above in the plugin’s folder?

Is there a simple solution to add this eCard to the side bar in a widget in a wordpress theme

I purchased via the holiday bundle

Thank you

The eCard needs to take image from a post or a page. By placing it in a widget, there is no image to send.

You could try to get a free plugin to add a post to the sidebar (can’t name you one right now), and the eCard shortcode to that post.

Thank you for your purchase.

I’ll do some tests to see how it works, and get back to you.

I have purchased the plugin … Could you walk me through the process of sending all ecards to a general email for delivery?

Sure thing. Please send me an email, so I can send you the details there.

Thanks for your reply and clarification!

You’re welcome!

I have tested this plugin by going to the two mentioned demosites and sending myself an ecard. Gmail has put both ecards in the spam folder.

Can you explain this?

Probably my server is blacklisted.

I’ve had clients receiving eCards both in Inbox and in Spam. It depends on many factors, none of them plugin related.
