I am looking for a slider that will autostart, and create the look of a continuous slide to the left across all images until it stops on the last image and stays there until the page is reloaded. Will jawdropper do this? It would also be best if I could hide all navigation and thumbnails.. Please let me know.

If i understood you right, the answer is yes. There are configuration options to do the behavior you want and you can hide the navigation and thumbnails setting “display : none” through css.

Cheers

I would really like to purchase this but have a question. I already have a set of 5 thumbnails that link to a large image that changes depending on the thumbnail that is clicked. It’s a simply javascript. Is it possible to add these effects somehow easily? Or really only 1 effect.

If i understood you correctly i think you could do the following:

- put the images inside the slider

- put the thumbnails outside the slider

- in the onclick event of each thumbnail, fire the command to make the slider display the slide with the image associated with the thumbnail.

Cheers

Instead of a sloppy poorly formatted notepad file, a proper word or pdf file would be much better. Alternatively provide clear deatailed directions as in “queness.com” or “web.enavu”.

Hi,

I think that “sloppy poorly formatted” it’s a little harsh, because there’s not much you can do in a plain text file.

The problem with pdf or Word is that they require another program to read it, and i don’t think it’s fair to require the user to have Word just to read the documentation. I’m thinking in use html to format the documentation, what your opinion about it?

I’m very concerned about “provide clear deatailed directions”, but i could not access “web.enavu”. And the site “queness.com” have A LOT of posts, can you be more specific if you don’t mind ?

Thank you for your feedback, i really appreciate it.

Cheers

Can you provide step by step directions on how to use this ‘plugin’?

The downloaded file contains a file titled ‘documentation’; but it cannot be opened by Windows 7.

Hi harin35,

The file “documentation” is a plain text file, you can open it with notepad or wordpad (i recommend that you install the “notepad++” ). If you cannot open the file with none of these applications, then it must be corrupted. Try to download the zip file again or send me a email through my profile page and i will send the file to you.

Regards

Hey,

So i think I have followed your directions and I have also tried to use the examples as a way to fix my problem but its just not working. Both in my preview and when I upload the site, all I get is the rotating loading symbol instead of the slider. What do I need to do? Do I need to preload the images? How do I do that?

If it helps please check out my website to see the problem: www.electronicmusicsearchengine.com

I am really new at this and I appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

i will take a look.

Cheers

Hello again Alex,

there are some issues in your page:

1 – You must swap the lines that load the slider and jquery. The correct order is
    <script src="jquery-1.4.2.min.js" language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="jawdropper_slider.js" language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"></script>
2 – You should close ‘container’ tag
    <div id="container"
note that is missing a ‘>’ at the end

See if this resolve your problem. If you have any other problem with the slider, feel free to contact me through email.

Regards

I bought and set this up and didn’t realize that it doesn’t slide in IE9 :( Is there anything I can do to get it working in IE9 ? I looked at the initial specs and it said IE7 + so I assumed it meant IE9 . Then I saw in another area it said only IE7 & IE8 .

Hi triplethreat23,

To be sure, i tested the live preview in IE9 and everything worked fine. Can you send me an email with a url or the files that are you using so i can try to reproduce (and fix) the problem?

thanks.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I’ve been on vacation: http://changewiperblades.com/p/index.php is the URL .

Hi triplethreat23,

I think you sent the wrong link, the slider that is on that page is the “li-slider” (but I can confirm that site did not work on IE9 )

maguiar01

hello brother,

i want to resize the slide and the outer lines. how to do in css, I’m still a beginner.

thanks for the help

hi, I wanted to know how to disable the shadow behind the pictures, I looked in the css but I could not find anything …

thanks for the help! Federico

Hi federico. I’m assuming you’re talking about the examples that came with the slider. Remove the lines 17,18 and 19 in file ‘examples.css’ (the lines with the ‘box-shadow’ declarations). If you’re not talking about the examples, can you please send me a email to clarify the question ?

Regards

Hi there. I am wondering if the issue above has been resolved – I need to make a slideshow of more than 10 images as well and need to be sure this will work for 40+ images. I also need the option to have the images show in random order. Is this all possible? Please let me know ASAP . I would like to purchase today.

I have a slight problem with this. I have written a site for a charity (http://www.fosh.org.uk) and it appears on the index.php page. They wanted a slide show of 20 at random which is read in but the slider stops at 10. Any ideas please?

Him jim,

i will take a look and get back to you soon.

Him again jim,

Can you contact me through email ? I need to send some files to you.

Cheers

Hello Maguiar01,

Thanks for your permission.

Cheers!

Hi

Sorry about the confusion. I would like to display your slider on our website after i purchase it to show our clients how this slider works. We’ll purchase it again for each usage.

Can i still showcase it our website?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks

No problem about the confusion. :)

And yes, you can showcase the slider in your website. After all, if you purchased a license, put it in your showcase it’s no different from put on any other website. At least that’s how i understand it.

Cheers

Hello I love this theme. I have a question before I get it. Envato has advised us to contact the author for showcasing your theme on our website.

Is it possible for us to showcase your theme in live preview on our server so that our clients get to know how this theme works? As you know, it’s not easy for us to sell our custom service without showing our clients how the theme works.

Of course we’re going to purchase the theme first, showcase this theme on our website in live preview, and then we’ll buy each license for each domain, or website for our clients.

I hope this will help increase the sales volume of this theme for you, Envato, and us.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks!

Hi ritzbrown,

I think that maybe there’s some confusion here, this item is a slider, not a theme. I am mistaken or maybe you have posted this comment in the wrong browser tab ? ;)

Hello, tell me please how can i have a capiton (a background for an image description) of a different color for every image? Is it possible? Thanks for an response.

Hi svetelis,

The slider does not support this feature ‘out of the box ’. Can you contact me through email ? I will try to make a ‘work around’ and i may need send some files to you.

Regards

Is there a WordPress version of this?

Hi joe,

Unfortunately, there’s no wordpress version of this plugin (yet).

Hi,

Is there no extended licence available for this? Would love to incorporate it into a project I’m developing.

Hi,

Unfortunately, there’s no extended license available.

Sorry. :(

Does this slider support Firefox 4 and 5?

Hi Griffin,

Yes, the slider support firefox 4 e 5.

Am trying to create an animated effect on a home page, a la: http://www.hotelvalencia-santanarow.com/ or http://frieling.com/

Can Jawdropper Slider do something similar? The issue appears to be changing the shape of the mask to a diamond or oval.

Regards, Joe

Hi Joe,

Nice effects on those sites. :) Unfortunately, Jawdropper Slider cannot do something similar. In the way he is implemented today (using only ‘old’ HTML and javascript), using it to do something like you’re asking would have a awful, awful performance. :(

Regards, maguiar

Hi, I’ve purchased this item and caption transparency is not working in IE8 . Any solution?

Hi Jorge,

I am looking at it. Can you contact me through email ? I think it’s easier in the case that i need to send files to you.

Regards

Yes, I’ve sent you an email from this site. Thank you.

Greetings!

Slider looks great.

I do have a question though that I cant seem to figure out.

What I would like to do is have a link on the page for each image and only have the image change when the link for that image is selected.

is this possible to do?

Thanks, Frank

Hi Frank,

I don’t understand exactly what you want. You want to change to a specific image when the user click on some link on the page? Also, can you contact me trough email? It’s better if i need to send some file to you.

Cheers,

maguiar
