Update v6.42: All content related links (post content, custom content) changed from target=_self to target=_blank ! Rolled back to v6.301 and all links were back to target=_self. So clearly the different target is related to the update.
Furthermore: In v6.42 I didn’t find any checkbox in the general settings, where the preferred target can be set.
How to deal then with such changes within an update?

That was quick. The new update works now with posts. In some grids I have pages with categories. Only on the front page these pages still have target=_blank, otherwise also these pages work fine.
The engine treats every post at the same way: please double check the “direct link” option editing those pots. Now you can choose the link target
Our client just tried to add a 200th item to an important grid on their site and got a message that just said “Cheating?” We figured out that if you have 199 items in the grid, it saves fine. The moment you try to save it with 200, it errors.
Is there a setting we need to change or an add-on that we can use to add more items to the grid? As far as I can see, a cap on the number of grid items per grid is not listed anywhere. We love Media Grid. We really don’t want to have to switch to something else to meet our needs. Please advise!

keep in mind that sooner or later you’ll hit the physical database limit for the grid record. Should be better to use a dynamic grid or split it in multiple grids.

I have had Media Grid for a few years now and do/did like it, but recently it displays thumbnails with a gap at the top – around 1/6th of a square thumbnail image – shifting the image down by the same amount. In short, it now looks crap in all browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome), whereas in the mg preview it looks fine, reminding me of why I bought the plugin in the first place. Divi doesn’t have APIs, then you must use a normal text block and insert the grid shortcode. Nothing complex.
Yes, the lightbox supports HTML and shortcodes, you can use whatever you want in it, included CF7 forms

There might be a conflict with wordpress 5. I dont know but I have right to get my money back if the product is not working. I am happy the basic works and its fine.
As I said: the two are identical. Having installed the “basic” is the same as install the Bundle.
Obviously you have to delete the “basic” before installing the bundle.

I have been using the plugin fine for months, but suddenly the entire page on which the plugin is active becomes blank when I add a new item to the grid. Removing the item from the grid makes the page visible again. It looks like the problem is the featured image; when I upload a new image the error occurs, but when using an already uploaded image everything works fine. I’m running the latest version. What causes this?

No, around 1mb. I downloaded an existing featured image and re-uploaded it, but a new grid item with the duplicated image will result in error as well.

Hi, I cannot get my Purchase Code to connect to my site. I had it setup but recently had to deactivate it to test out a glitch. I’m now trying to activate it again but I keep getting this error message, “Error connecting to LCweb endpoint. Please check your cURL server settings.” I tried to open a ticket in your support but I no longer can as my support for this product is expired. Please let me know if this issue can be resolved without me having to pay for support again. The plugin is working just fine, I only need to connect my purchase code for auto updates again.

Hi, circling back here. My auto updater still isn’t setup. I just manually updated the plugin to the latest version, tried to connect my license and I still get an error. This time the error says “cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 5001 milliseconds.”

I wish I was joking. One of my clients is using the Media Grid plugin. She clicked on that green button (the one that opens up a new window for inserting a new license key) and instead of the box for entering the new license key photos show up. I, however, cannot see that when I click on that button, nor can I find that photo on their server. I asked her to try another computer, and the same thing happened. It’s quite the mystery as to why she sees nude photos and I don’t.
They’re running the latest version of WP (5.0.2) and all plugins. I just now asked her to clear her browser cache, cookies, history… restart the browser… and let me know if she’s still seeing photos.

The updater simply sends basic cURL calls to my lcweb server. Is used by thousands and thousands of customers everyday
Nothing came up doing a Wordfence and Sucuri scan. Also, it happens to her when using her home computer, too. Any ideas what could be causing this, and how to get rid of it?
I meant a whole server scan through the hoster.
If that was causing the problem, I would also be seeing the photos when I log in.
The auto updater is a remote call to my server, then is a completely different process.

isn’t possible to have that pagination URL with Media grid (even because that URL is read as an archive pagination by wordpress).
About grid layout: you could create something similar using Media Grid + Overlay Manager add-on.
You already have the plugin then should know you can use existing posts to compose grids and/or use them as direct page links.
Hi i have purchased overlay manger so working through it. So just to clarify can I use the smartslider shortcode for each boat in items? I see the smart slider icon in editor and can add it but not sure if i can make it show.

Hi so i am getting there now thanks to your help. This where i am at https://www.embarkboathire.com.au/sample-umair/ Using inline text i can use the slider short code which has saved me loads of work. The questions i have are how do i remove the shadow around each boat and take the border thickness down from 4px to 2px. Also i want to remove the border thats around the slide so the boat picture uses all the space and is displayed bigger.
I have tried options in settings and nothing changes plus have cleared cache etc.

imagely is essentially NextGen Gallery.
Media Grid is more a portfolio plugin, you should check Global Gallery: it has direct NextGen integration to create galleries.
You could create a collection wrapping up different galleries or also use other ways to achieve what needed. Please check its systems
The new update stops the plugin from working. All already created grids don´t work anymore.
I only see a borken searchbox and text filters without anything more on pages, where grids where set
I found the bug.
The update activated the clean text items option in the setiings of the plugin. This does not work in frontend. Deactivating this option shows grids again.
Please check this options effects. This seems really to be a bug
and another bug:
The A-Z sorting for single grids don´t work with all german letters. We habe “Ä”, “Ü” and “Ö” and those are set to the end. Maybe you can customize the filter, cause Ä can be handled like A, Ö can be handled like O and Ü can be handled like U
Latest release is identical to past ones but brings shortcode wizard among WP editor buttons to be compatible with Gutenberg.
That issue is related to a missing custom CSS. Basically you just have to save again settings. If issue persists on the next update, try enabling the “inline CSS” option in settings.

When you go to Media Boxes > Click a Portfolio > Then go to the Source tab > then under Post Type, “Custom Media Gallery”, I add the images, but there is no way to categorize each image. And I’m not sure where I would add the caption?

E se si volesse mettere sotto chiave una gallery, sarebbe possibile farlo rendendo direttamente non raggiungibili anche i file immagine? Perchè conosco già il tuo plugin private content ma non mi pare che si possa evitare che un media possa essere raggiunto direttamente conoscendone il link.
Global Gallery è soltanto relativo alle foto, in quella collection puoi settare un blocco per essere un link a un video, ma non lanciarlo nella lightbox.
Non è possibile restringere links diretti con il solo PHP, quindi non puoi farlo in nessun modo. Ovviamente puoi restringere la visualizzazione della galleria
Grazie. Capisco per la messa sotto chiave. Per i video è un peccato, perchè dai lightbox che vedo presenti nelle features, come prettyphoto o altri, in teoria sarebbe possibile aggiungere un video. Sarebbe interessante prevederlo in una futura release, perchè il plugin è davvero bello, e poter fare una gallery con contenuti foto e video è una esigenza abbastanzo normale dopotutto
