Hello. Your plug in is great. I would like to add the default folder to AWS. Is there a plugin for this?
Thanks Josh
You can use this free addon to change the default folders:
http://www.bloopes.com/products/filemanager/downloads/file-manager-default-folder-editor/
Thanks, but that just chooses a folder on in the root. I need to set a folder with permission to Amazon.
Oh you mean you want to choose a folder on Amazon S4, this is not currently available in the filemanager.
If you need it custom made, you can email me through my profile link here.
Hello, I would like to display the active path in the upper part of the window you can? Thanks
Hi,
The active path can be seen in the status bar below, the position of the status bar cant be changed, you can try coding through javascript to do that, but its a little complicated.
Hello
It works with wordpress 5 and elementor?
How about security for website if installed?
Kind Regards Kevin
Hi,
Yes, it has been tested with wordpress 5.0 and it should work fine with Elementor too.
hello,
the quicklookpreview need some particular plugin/wp configuration?
sometime isn’t working and the .docx, .xlsx don’t show any preview.
By the way, this plugin is the best in his category
thanks in advice
Hi,
Yeah the preview uses google docs to view the documents, it sometimes has format compatibility issues for some documents.
Make sure you are using the latest version (7.4 now), it will be less likely to run into this issue.
Hi. We have just upgraded to Wordpress 5 and now folders are not displayed in AFM. All else seems to be fine. The only problem is that when users login there are no folders to be seen. Help! We used to have paid support but am not too sure if we do now. Thank you
Hi,
Can you email me the backend access, I’ll take a look.
Make sure you have version 7.4 of the filemanager, it has been test on wordpress 5.0
I have issued an update on codecanyon for WordPress 5.0, it should be up in a few hours I hope. It will be version 7.4.1
Thanks very much for your reply. We are using version 7. We will upgrade to 7.4.1 but I can’t find the files for download. Can you tel me where they are kept on Codecanyon?
Its not updated yet, codecanyon takes a few hours to update. You can email me with the profile you bought the plugin with and I’ll email you the updated version.
Have sent an email to the address you used with us two years ago (a personal gmail address). I hope that’s OK. Thanks.
Got it, replied.
Hello, the version available on codecanyon is 7.0 instead the last 7.4. Maybe this is an error of the uploaded files?
Hi,
Yes there is some kind of issue in codecanyon, you should choose full download instead of just the plugin.
ok thanks
Hello,
Hope you are well !
I purchased the plug-in this morning.

I have a few doubts – how do I make the folder sharing available among users ?
I have 2 types of users – Doctors and Labs.
If I want 1 doctor user to share a particular folder to a lab user, how do I do that ?
Note:
We don’t want to share the entire doctors folder with the lab user. Just one particular patients folder (with files inside) that the doctor created.
We want to share it with only 1 particular lab user (So assigning it to the Lab Users Group won’t help.)
Please let me know what can I do here. Thanks for your help in advance.
Kind Regards Shaun
You can just go to the users page under the filemanager in dashboard and assign that user any folder you want.
You can use this shortcode to display all the folders assign to the Lab Users (or any other user):
[filemanager foldername="*"]
Hi,
Is it possible to do the sharing without the permissions from the admin every time ?
I want a doctor user to be able to share a folder with a lab user without involving the super admin.
Only admin can assign folders to the users, regular users cant.
Hi, Is it possible to Edit File set default as CodeMirror ? other is hide or remove?
Hi,
It is possible to do that, buts a little complicated, you’d have to write custom scripts to make it work like that.
can you give us scripts? OR how to write custom code for that?

This addon is still under development, and not backed by support, you can try it, it may fit your needs.
hello,

my purchase code: f13f522e-83ec-4fec-ba9a-debbfd2301bd
thanks
Hi,
This isnt something built into the filemanager, but if you know php you might be able to make it work like that. If you need this custom done for a fee, you can email me through my profile link here.
How do we Create Folders, so as to be able to upload documents. I am trying to set up a file access area for a small company to be able to distribute documents for employees… THanks!
Hi,
You can go to front-end access page and generate a shortcode for subscriber for that folder with read/write access. Then you can use that shortcode in any page to show it to the users.
Presales questions: 1) Can this plugin be used by new users to upload /drop zip files 2) Can this plugin be integrated with dropbox, googledrive so users can upload files from wordpress front end ?
Hi,
Yes this user can be used to upload any files including zip.
As of now, the plugin doesnt support dropbox or gdrive, but I am working on it, so may be soon, probably as a third party addon.
Hi,
After the last update, no files are shown. I reinstall the plugin, it still indicates 7.0 v. Please help.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
You can download the latest version (7.4) and replace it with the old one. Choose the full download option instead of just wordpress plugin, it still downloads 7.0 for some reason.
yes that did the trick. it’s working and there are couple of issues to check: - the file manager takes time to show up, it was fast - the file details buttons display at the bottom of the manager - it displays Trash (not clickable) at the very bottom of the file manager window
thanks for the support!
Can you email me the backend access, I’ll check it out.
email sent. Thanks for the great support!
Got it, replied too.
great, i need to clear the server cache. It works as before, no issues! Thanks a lot for the great support!
Great
Hi, I have got a warning message from Wordfence:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in …/wp-content/plugins/advanced_file_manager_5/plugin-update-checker.php on line 469
I did the update manually to Plugin Version 7.0
Now I am getting this warning message:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in …/wp-content/plugins/advanced_file_manager_5/plugin-update-checker.php on line 235
Please advise on corrective steps. Thank you!
Hi,
You are using an older version of the filemanager, you can download the version 7.4 from codecanyon.
Hi,
It works now after the download and installation of the version in “All files and documentations” >> Version 7.4
But it did not work before with the download and installation of the version in “Installable WordPress file only” >> Version 7.0
Thanks!
Thats weird, they are both supposed to be 7.4
Anyways, let me know if you need anything else.
Hi, I have tried various download plugins and was badly stung by wp-filebase pro and really don’t like wp-download manager which I’ve got at the moment. Your system looks amazingly cheap and good and the feedback looks excellent and I see you answering questions impressively fast. BUT: the demos and documentation seem very limited and there is no demo or free version so I am probably wasting your time with questions but I can’t find the answers. At the moment 100% of my downloads are free to anyone. That will change and I think I can see you have options for that but questions: (1) can I easily create a download link that is just a simple icon and downloads just one file for the [unregistered|any] user? (2) can users select a number of files from a list and pull them as one (say zipped) file? (3) can I enforce registration (ideally to a mailchimp group) before someone downloads? Please point me to comprehensive help/documentation if I’ve missed it (to me your guides are not that)! TIA, Chris (P.S. Your link “Find out how to format your comment” just loops to the comments page.)
The filemanager wont create a download link, but instead it will show you the folders with files that users can download.
You can select multiple files and zip them and download them, it will automatically make a zip of it and start the download. Also if you try to download a folder, it makes a zip of that folder and starts the download, you can try these in the demo too:
http://www.bloopes.com
You can restrict shortcodes to logged-in users only, but you’d have to make the login screen and redirection by yourself.
Here are the user guides:

Dear Author, Greetings. I am on a verge of buying a file manager. I have following concerns:
1. Once everything is set up, do I have option to access admin controls using front-end, or I have to go to back-end to access admin controls. 2. I want to assign folders to different users / groups and want them to see only their related folders on their front-end. Also can I control their (users) functionalities independently i.e. a user have some functions to one folder and some functions for other folders. 3. I want the website pages to be accessed by users as I decide. For eg. Page (subscriber) to be seen by one user group type, page (Editor) to be seen by another user group. How to achieve this.
Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
1. Admin controls are in the wordpress dashboard (backend).
2. Yes, you can assign folders to users based on their user roles (groups). You can control whether they can read/write, read only or read/upload.
3. You can control which shortcode to show up for which user group with restriction shortcodes, here are more details about them:
http://www.bloopes.com/2018/06/24/show-filemanager-to-certain-user-groups-only/
Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. If I need to assign a particular folder to a particular user/users individually (not group), how to do that. I believe that will help me in showing users the folders I assign them individually.
There is a users page in the filemanager backend where you can assign folders to individual users too.
There is also a default folder for every user, its unique folders assigned to every user automatically with their username, you can enable/disable this feature in the settings page.
Thanks again. You have won a client.
Just one more thing
. Can I use this in as many websites separately, or I have to buy separate licenses for separate websites.
Regards.
You have to purchase separate licenses for each website, one license is valid for one website only.
Hi, Is there any option that user cannot delete a file but only move from one folder to another. This way, no file within the system be deleted as it may be crucial for company.
There are 3 access modes: read only, read/write and read/upload. User can moves files only in read/write but it also give them access to delete the files too. You can use read/upload which allows the user to upload files but not delete or edit them.
OK,
Then if the user is supposed to move the file to some other folder, is it possible.
Thanks.
With read/upload they cant move the files, but they can upload it to another folder if they want. Moving files is only possible with read/write.
Sorry to bother you again, but as I understand, suppose I want the user can only download, upload revised version and then move it to another folder, but cannot delete it from the system. On not download but upload a new version on top of the same file and move it to another folder. Is it possible?
You want the users to not delete or edit the files, but they can move and upload them? Email me the backend access to your site, ftp and wordpress, I’ll change the “read/upload” permission to make it work like that.
Hello, I’d like to know if it’s possible to get a demo version – to be able to test the plugin before buying. Thanks
Thanks for your quick answer. However I was not able to drag and drop image, did you deactivate upload ? Also you say “auto unique folder for every user” but is it possible to have a big folder for all users to share ? I need something to do file exchange. Lastly, is it only available in front offfice ? I was thinking of letting wordpress users share their files inside admin area, I don’t want this exchange area to be public, you see ?
Yes, the demo is read only, you can upload anything in there. You can enable it on your installation.
Yes, user can have a shared folder or folders, where every user can share files among themselves.
You can also use the filemanager in the backend if you want. Also you can generate shortcodes that only logged-in users can see, unlike the demo site.
thanks
Thanks for creating this great plugin. It is exactly what we need.
I have two questions: When I add the shortcode [filemanager] to a page, nothing appears on the page. I’ve also tried the shortcode in a post, but this also doesn’t work. I can give you the URL to my website and a login via a personal message.
Make sure you have enabled default folders option in the settings page, more details here:
http://www.bloopes.com/2018/06/06/default-folders/
Email me the backend access if you have this option enabled.
Hi, I have an important question before buying the plugin, here is the case: imagine I have 5 folders, in each folder I have 10 students, each student has his own folder assigned to his user account, so I don’t want the student to see or to have access to the other students folders, I want him to see only his folder and the files he uploaded, can I do that with this plugin ? Regards.
Hi,
Yes, this can easily be done in the the filemanager plugin, the filemanager even creates unique folders for every user automatically and assigns it to that user. Other user dont have access to each other’s folders unless you explicitly do so.
Hello, since the last time I updated, there has been a significant negative change. When the users of the school accessed their account, instead of showing the browser directly, it redirects them to the wordpress backend as shown in the following image:
https://ibb.co/bv8OhqIs there a possibility that they can see your files from the same screen where they used to login?
Thank you
Yes, you can use shortcodes to display the filemanager in the front-end. You can generate shortcodes from the Front-end Access page in wordpress dashboard.
Also your wordpress login page is taking the users to the dashboard, you can change that using plugins like this:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirect-after-login/
Email me if you want my help doing it.
Thank you very much, it worked
Great
Hello,
I am interested in your plugin, but before I am going to purchase it, I want to clearify some questions.
1. If I buy this plugin, there will be no repetetive costs, am I right? 2. I will use this in our Company´s Intranet, where the employees will have access to different documents, is the regular licence enough for this project?
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
J. Rachel
Hi,
You wont need to pay for anything after first purchase, all the updates are free.
Yes, the regular license is enough for your needs.
Alright thanks for your quick reply.
Hi, we just purchased file manager. I have it installed and if i go to main file manager link it takes me to admin folder with no options. when i make a shortcode to a folder and put it in a page, it’s just blank it does not generate. Can you please help?
Hi,
For file manager in the dashboard, you can go to users, find your username and assign yourself some folders.
For shortcodes, if you generated the shortcode for subscribers, only subscribers will be able to see that folders, same goes for other users roles too (like admin, editor etc).
What shortcode did you generate?
I have the folders assigned and can see them in main manager now, but the blank page problem still persists. I put the code on a test page ( [filemanager foldername=”Jobs” groups=”administrator” access=”ru”] ) . but when I go to it, it’s just blank
Did you generate this shortcode in the front-end access page, or did you make this up? Only generated shortcodes work, you cant modify the shortcodes manually either.
You can email me the backend access to your site, I’ll show you how.
I think I figured it out, The page margins had to be adjusted.
