This New York native Los Angeles based composer is a classical trained pianist who opted for the electric guitar as a teen. His influences are as far reaching from Chet Atkins to Andre Segovia or Elmore James to Van Halen. In the late “80’s Smith performed on and around the Sunset Strip in the heyday of hard rock shredding and beatnik folk styles. In the “90’s he went on to work behind the scenes as a sound engineering in large studios such as Track Record, Larrabee Studios and Enterprise Studios. In the studio he learned countless music production techniques from the likes of Tony Peluso, Warren Croyle, Dave Pensado, Many Marroquin and others. Today he maintains his ear and guitar chops as a fixture on the L.A. open pro Blues jam scene. Smith spends countless hours (in the faders) blending his years of experience on both sides of the microphone; composing, arranging, editing and mixing all original instrumental music that is as eclectic as the artist himself.
