3 Questions.

1. Can same widget panel put in a single post or page using shortcode?

2. Can different widget panel put in a single post or page using shortcode?

3. Are Recent Post Widget responsive when using shortcode in post or page?

TylerQuinn

Not sure at all what you mean in 1 and 2, but 3 is a yes ;)

Powerful Wordpress solution, congratulations for all the team. Obviously my next purchase.

TylerQuinn

Thank you, I am glad you like it!

sorry but, your video download speed is very bad. please reOptimize your videos..

TylerQuinn

They are on YouTube…. Most likely your connection that’s the issue.

Great plugin!

just one newbie question? Try to upload a existing widget php file extracted from a widget plugin file the widget panel but got an error. Does this mean I only can upload genuine php widgets?

Regards,

Paul

TylerQuinn

It will only work with widgets formated for the panel. OR widgets that I make in the future as add ons.

I cant’n install this plugin, alert :

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tc-widget-panel/inc/widgets/tc_dribbblefeed.php on line 182

This is ridiculous… everyone is having the same problem. Can you fix this please?

TylerQuinn

The plugin works fine, other people have also used it without issue.

If you are not getting replies please use the ticket system not an outside email, any emails or support requests from a non-verified account will not be responded to.

Are you kidding me? There are multiple people commenting on the SAME ISSUE !

I HAVE WENT TO YOUR PROFILE PAGE AND DID WHAT YOU REQUEST !!!!

I have done it twice.

I have a verified account. I am starting to get VERY angry.

TylerQuinn

Please refund my money. This does not work!

The error “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /wp-content/plugins/tc-widget-panel/inc/widgets/tc_dribbblefeed.php on line 182” some are receiving (including me) is because you cannot have anonymous functions in PHP less than 5.3. So ALL the functions in the code that are writen like
add_action( 'widgets_init', function(){ return register_widget( 'tc_dribbblefeed_widget_panel' ); });
will not work in some versions and must be rewriten like:
add_action( 'widgets_init', 'register_tc_dribbblefeed_widget_panel'); function register_tc_dribbblefeed_widget_panel() { return register_widget( 'tc_dribbblefeed_widget_panel' ); }

Now give me a cookie for fixing your code!

TylerQuinn

There was nothing that needed fixing? You use an old version of PHP and needed an old way of calling the function which is what I would have advised if you opened a support ticket. Again, there is nothing wrong with the code at all. Older versions of PHP just cannot use this method of calling functions which is quickly becoming standard in many WordPress themes and plugins.

None the less, this comment will be handy for anyone else using an older version of PHP .

Quick question to understand:

With this, I could technically create a unique widget for a single blog post, correct?

What I’m thinking is to have a widget which shows “Links Within This Post” and list out the links used in the post along with “Products Mentioned In This Post” with … products.

In essence, the sidebar widget would be used to show a table of contents, of some sort, to the reader so they don’t have to manually dig through every element of the post (especially if they skim).

Please let me know if this is possible – loved your other stuff and looks like I’ll pick up this one if it can do this :)

TylerQuinn

Not sure what widget you had in mind to do that as thats not included, but the included widgets can be used in posts and pages.

Any plans on updating this plugin or is it kind of dead in the water now?

I see so many of the widget plugins on codecanyon becoming quite advanced, much more so than this one and it would be nice to see some fresh updates.

Anything new up your sleeve?

TylerQuinn

This plugin still has a lot of stuff other plugins dont. No updates in the near future planned.

I am having the same issue as above Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/c/i/n/cinc6776/html/mrherbsky/wp-content/plugins/tc-widget-panel/inc/widgets/tc_dribbblefeed.php on line 182

I have opened a support ticket but have not heard from anyone yet. Need help fixing this.

TylerQuinn

Zero tickets on our support forum for this item… Its because you are running an old version of PHP.

If you want to open a ticket I can help you out.

TylerQuinn

First off, tickets opened with Envato have nothing to do with Authors or item support.

Second, you opened the ticket 8 mins ago, have some patience…

It’s been another 3 months so just checking back in to see if you have any updates at all planed for this plugin.

It would be really nice to see more of a focus on ‘responsive’ shortcodes that work and resize on mobile devices.

well it’s been a few months and now that every single theme I use is responsive, 2012, 2013, (even wp default is responsive), I would like to be able to use the plugin but can’t until this is fixed.

Do you have any plans at all of fixing this?

I’m sure you understand the problem where trying to force fixed size elements into a responsive theme pretty much trashes the whole layout defeating the purpose of a responsive theme which they all seem to be today.

TylerQuinn

To be fair nothing is broken, the plugin works as advertised without issues. Responsive widget layouts are not a listed feature, in a future update I will look into making this happen.

Hello!

I have one question before final decision to buy Widget Panel Pro: can I use my own developed widgets – do you provide format requirements for widgets? Or is it easy to understand it based on your widgets already included in WPP?

Thanks Regards

TylerQuinn

With some work you probably could, you would have to examine the structure of the plugin and be handy with WordPress + PHP.
