Hey there,

Amazing looking plugin. I’ll be buying this in a few days to add to my site, but I have a concern – currently, the preview on your site doesn’t work for me. I’m simply stuck on a blank screen after it says loading weather information. I really want to see the various weather effects before purchasing, but more importantly, I think it’s best for you to know the display isn’t working for everyone, which is likely hurting sales. Additionally, when you scroll to the top of the page to click on the other options, I’m forced back down to the widget, making it VERY hard to press any of the top navigation links (on the first page, not the showcase page).

This is the url, Windows 8.1, Intel Iris Pro 5200, latest Chrome browser. http://kreaturamedia.com/weatherslider-wordpress-weather-showcase/

I’m looking forward to buying this, and hopefully testing it before doing so!

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. I believe we may have exceeded our API limits, but we will look into this as soon as possible. In the meantime, please try again in a later time, this issue should be temporarily.

I’m not sure what do you mean on the second issue with the navigation links. Could you describe this in a little more detail, please?

When on that page, if I scroll down to look at the content below (example / features), then scroll back up to the top, the area code pop-up shows up (with my area code of 05401 already displayed). As soon as this pop-up hides itself, the page forces me back down to focus on the widget example, preventing me from clicking on any of the 3 navigation buttons on the top right (demo, showcase, features). Basically that area code pop-up is displaying / hiding itself at random (I’m not hovering over it, just further up the page, to click on that navigation), and the page is auto focusing down below each time.

As for exceeding the API usage, is that on a per account basis? For example, does that effect your users of the widget, or do we get our own accounts / api usage? I assume the numbers are quite high, and that it’s just your account, but I just wanted to be sure. Also, just to be clear, the weather slider widget demo works, it’s the weather showcase (with the options) that doesn’t.

I’ll check back shortly, or feel free to drop a response when it’s back up (I get emails on follow-up to this). Thanks for the quick response!

I’m not sure what the issue can be. I also tested it with Crome and I wasn’t able to reproduce this issue and nobody else reported it so far.

The API usage is on a per account basis, you can register your own API key on World Weather Online’s site. We also have an option for caching to avoid issues like this.

Odd, as I’m not running any odd extensions or toolbars that would interfere (pretty clean install over here). I just tested it again, and know the exact cause. Basically, whenever the mouse is hovering over the app, the zip code pop-up appears up top. As soon as the mouse leaves the app (not even clicking, just leaves the area), it disappears, which causes the zip code pop-up to retract, which then forces the focus down. If I move the mouse up the right side of the page, not on the app, the pop-up never comes out, and I never end up closing it, and all is well. Try scrolling so you can see the top of the page, hover over the app, then move the mouse off of the app to the right – the page should jump down. It’s worth noting it’s not a resolution issue, as I’m at 1920×1080.

On that note, it’s a very minor issue, and if the API is per account, all is well. I’ll go ahead and buy it now, as it looks great, your ratings are high, and you’ve been excellent with communication. I just realized I’m grabbing the Wordpress version, but have been commenting on the jQuery version – glad I noticed.

The location bar when you hover over the widget should not overlap the top navigation area. If you’re use zooming in your browser there could be some issues with the sizing, but it’s normal and isn’t related to the browser.

Hi. This looks interesting bo the translation options….

Is it possible to show it in fullscreen? i want to feed it to digital signage screen…(1280×720)

Hello,

You can use any size you want between 240×200 and 1300×600 pixels. These limitations are required because of the graphics elements.
