the plugin has finally settled correctly.
Either the plugin isn’t compatible with WP 3.9, or with the page builder that my theme uses. Please let me know how we can troubleshoot this. Thank you.
Plugin works fine on 3.9. for us, there should be no changes. So it is probably your theme builder.
Try with default WP editor. Then just copy shortcode or html of the inserted icon to your builder text field.
Hi, it’s a superb plugin and works very well however i have a small question as you can see on my web http://123tlumacz.pl/ I’m using several icons on my homepage, I noticed that website is loading slower then before. Do you have any advice what or how should i speed up and keep the icons? I’m using W3 Total Cache
If you are not using all icon fonts, you can remove unused font calls from icon-font-style.css and font files from inc/font folder.
this plugin can add custom vector icons or add more icons?
Sorry, you can not add new icons yourself. You need iconic font to do this.
Have you tested this plugin with visual editors like Visual Composer or Elegant Themes Divi theme? Can yoiu confirm if this would work well?
Plugin is meant for default WP editor. You can add icons using default editor and then just copy code to the text block of any visual editor.
Thanks for your answer, and one more question: are the icon packs updated? Because I see your last update was on Aug 2013. An in the meantime FontAwesome has added several new icons. Are them included? If not, will I be able to upgrade the font files in any way? Thanks
It has not been updated to very latest version yet, but we plan to do so in about a week.
Super awesome! Then I’ll buy it when you upgrade it
We have installed MNKY Vector Icons (latest version 1.5) for some time on a website working with Visual Composer. Recently, Vector Icons stopped working. The Vector Icons buttons is shown above the wysiwyg-editor of the VC text element, but it does not react when you click on it. I read somewhere in another comment that you are working on a update. How is that coming along? We work with the latest Visual Composer version 4.3.4.
Sorry, we had a delay with the update, will try to roll it out as soon as we can.
For now just use default WordPress editor and then copy icon shortcode inside visual composer element.
Hi, that’s gonna be a problem. In this particular website permissions for client are set to “Visual Composer only”, so he cannot use the default WP editor. Can you estimate when the update will be done?
Hi , how can i use the icons in widget titles?
Try posting html version of the icon into widget title area. But possibly wordpress won’t allow html inside widget title, but it is worth a try.
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible for me to include these vector icons using the smartcodes in my header.php?
I want to have them just near the end of the header on the website. Maybe I can add a line of rich text or something. Is this possible and how would I go about doing this?
Do you mean shortcodes? It can be done with do_shortcode functions, BUT we have html mode of the icons (just press get html code in the icon panel) that can be inserted directly into the code
I bought and install your pluging. When I use Icons menu in a page/article, a shortcode appears in my back end admin but nothing appears in front end …....
I use a themify theme, is there any conflict with thoses themes ?
Thank you for your answer
Please try enabling compatibility mode and see, if it helps. Steps are in user manual’s advanced section.
One question if I may.
I’m looking for a plugin that enables me to:
• control the color of the icon
• control background color of the icon
• control hover color of the icon
• control hover background color of the icon
• control size of the icon
Is this possible with your plugin?
It is all possible, but depends on icon style you use, some styles do not allow to choose all color options at once. You can send us private message and we will provie with test plugin to test it out.
please sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Good day, I’ve installed the plugin and I am getting the Icon button in the page and post view, but when I click on it nothing happens and no code gets added. I’ve tried the compatibility mode, but it doesn’t change anything. I’ve also tried to manually add the code in the text field, but it just shows up as text. Please assist.
Okay, I tried the compatibility thing again and it works, BUT only if I add it manually, from the manual. I still do not get any form of response when I click on the add icon button – I can not choose an icon.
I’ve also switched off all other plugins with no effect. Please assist.
It sounds like a conflict with a theme you are using. Does it come with visual composer?
Thanks for the response. I believe it does. It is Elegant-Theme’s Divi theme – http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/divi/
I see. Unfortunately icon panel works only with default wordpress editor. So you will have to use it as a shortcode (or press get HTML code button) copied inside text block element of page builder.
I’ve tried using shortcodes, but it also doesn’t seem to take every time and just displays the shortcode as text, even when adding it as HTML. I won’t be able to use the plugin as is – big bummer, was looking forward to using your plugin. Mmm, I did not see a warning on your page that informs/warns potential buyers that this plugin will not work with visual composer – very important piece of information.
It should work in the mentioned manual way, it works with most of themes. What exactly is displayed when you add a HTML code of the icon?
It is possible that Divi theme uses !important statement to overwrite font-family. If you could share a link to the website with icons inserted into the page, I would be able to tell that.
Thanks for the swift response and support, I appreciate it. Okay, I got the manual method working again – reset compatibility mode to original (false). Sorry I am still working on a localhost for the time being. How do I control icon style and mouse-over action in manual mode, can not seem to find an example in the manual? Are you planning an visual composer update in the near future, because the manual way isn’t really one of reasons for purchasing this plugin. I purchased it because it looked user-friendly, time saving and convenient. I am not trying to be difficult, but the manual way is way more effort. I literary have to go to your demo site to source the names of the icons that I would like to use – it’s a mission.
By the manual mode I meant using the panel and just copying text into the text blocks of your page builder. So basically just follow these steps:
1. Create new page and use standard WordPress editor to add icons from the panel to that page.
2. Copy the shortcode or HTML icon code that you got..
3. Paste it to the page builder.
We had plans to add elements for visual composer, but since it recently came out with its own panel, it would cause conflicts. Also it looks like your theme builder is not “Visual Composer” plugin, it is a custom builder.
Cool, thanks! That will do. Thanks for your patience and support, really appreciate it.
