Good script “BUT” you should let the script talk for its-self and not force people to buy and rate to get all features….

You sold around 20 in one day this will drop to around 5/10 per day so thats around 71 days until you set the admin live lol if not longer…

It’s really sad too see that the marketplaces have stooped so low as to “beg” people to rate it 5 stars.

People should ONLY rate what they feel is right for the script – that is not forcing them to beg. That’s like saying “I will only answer support requests for every 100 purchases” it’s just wrong and a bad, bad strategy to play, and even dangerous.

You do what you want with your scripts but you must be prepared to take the consequences for that, whether good or bad.

Actually, why on earth don’t you just implement these god damn features? From the way I see it is if you implement all these features this could be worth $15 or even more and you could really hit the big sales IMO (it’s a nice script).

Well, if I have to pay only $1 with the first feature, then add another 1 buck for the second, and so on, why not ? I would understand such a business model… Right now, you are asking for the full price right away, by entincing users with upcoming feature. Therefore I will wait to see how it goes, and if it does not go too far, I will be happy not having bought the whole thing for not much. Not sure this is good marketing, to be frank

the script its simply awesome on the version that we have right now. Of course, if you dont charge more money for the product, you can use a marketing strategy, because on that way you can have a feedback about your product and make more interesting updates and get more information for anyone who doesn´t buy yet. If any one buy and dont like the script, of course he dont gonne rate with 5 stars, and its complete comprensive, but that helps to make a parallel about this and the another similar scripts on envato marketplace.

In my case, i take few minutes to install, and few hours after launch, i got 300 visits and 180 uses, so that help my businnes too! As we said “Hand to hand!”

I think it’s a decent marketing strategy. I have found it hard to continue updating a plugin when sales decline after it drops off the first page of Code Canyon. If people want the additional features, they might tweet about the script or post it to their facebook or what not, letting others know about the script.

If the script sells, the author is getting paid to spend time coding updates. If it doesn’t sell, why should he continue making updates?

Consider your $9 an investment. You’re $9 today could be worth $15 or more in a few months. . .

Some scripts on Code Canyon have been updated and the price has gone up because of the added features. . . but even if the price doesn’t go up when/if features are added, you still have an author promising to make updates at a certain point. . .that’s pretty awesome for a $9 script. I’v paid more for some scripts on here and can’t get an answer from the author, let alone the promise of future updates and improvements.

Bottom line though. . .if you have a need for a URL shortener, $9 is a cheap price to pay.

i’ll pay $15-20 for the full version right now with all the features, can you do that?

just looking at your sales combine for the past 3 years, it’s 176 between four scripts of which none have sold over 100. So at the most we’d the bookmarklets for the 5 stars but the other features wont come about.

So why not create at $15-20 full version for those that don’t want to wait 3-6yrs for admin panel and stats. Script looks great and I’m willing to pay the extra.

Has anyone noticed that the people that are dissin ’ this author’s strategy are new to CC or have only bought 1-9 downloads. So I doubt they would have bought this at any price or do not know how to use it without an admin

e.g. I will buy the full version for x# of $ with all features. This is the full version of this script. It does what is supposed to do and still is priced less than the other url shorteners. The admin is bonus and not needed to make this work

Been using this for a couple days on our qr code generator site and everybody loves it.

I would purchase this now at full price if it was complete with admin panel and tracking. Whatever else you decide to add on later would entice me to give you a good rating.

Everyone stop complaining, it’s his script & he can do what he likes with it whether people think it’s a good or bad idea, if you don’t want it, don’t buy it, it’s as simple as that, there is no need for everyone saying the same things here.

IMO , you should like give a new feature for every 10/15th rates, that way you’ll get more rates and more sales faster. It’s worth it if you do, and I’m gonna buy this script anyway:)
