Hi Chris,

Finding it very hard to remove residual styling even though I have read your guide on the 2 ways to remove. I wouldn’t mind if I could ask for assistance on this please. And yes it is still on the same theme as I have been working on with the kite surfing. I had it nailed until the latest update.

Hi Ciaran,

I’ve responded to your request in the forum. It seems you’ve already resolved the issue, but if not please let me know by responding to the forum post and I’ll be happy to take a look :)

Responded in the forum. ;)

Does the menu support “sticky menu” – so that the user scrolls downwards the top menu allways stays on top of the browser, perhaps with a little transparency? I like the style of twitters bootstrap menu bars allways staying in view.

Thanks!

sevenspark

Hi gehrkensit,

A sticky menu is not an out-of-the-box feature with UberMenu, but it could be easily achieved by applying fixed positioning to the #megaMenu element. Here’s a quick demo I made up, hope you find it useful! http://wpmegamenu.com/mega-menu-sticky-header-demo/

Hello, I have bought this plugin. but I have problem with this plugin. I use wordpress 3.3.1 but I can’t set thumbnail for each menu because link “Use as featured image” not appear. But old wordpress the link appear. What should I do.

sevenspark

Hi halisya,

WordPress 3.3 changed the way featured images were handled. UberMenu 1.1.4 was released to provide compatibility with the new system. You’ll need to upgrade to a newer version. Please see http://wpmegamenu.com/help/#FAQ-no-featured-image for more information.

If you have future support requests, kindly start a new thread in the Support Center. Thanks!

Okay, problem solved. Thank you. But how to remove the arrow in the top-level menu? I want the arrow only appears when the menu has a sub menu. But if the top menu does not have a sub menu, the arrow does not appear. Thanks.

sevenspark

You need to uncheck “Activate Mega Menu” on the top level menu items that do not have submenus.

Again, if you have further questions, please post them in the Support Center. Thanks.

Chris

thank you for updating plugin, sir..this is still best menu plugin on world! :)

Hey, bought the plugin yesterday but my code won’t work on the forum… it says: “No valid purchase codes where found.” what can I do? Oh ok fixed. Had to use the same name I had here…

Hi,

First of all I would like to say that this Menu plugin is just great.

I do have a problem and the problem is, the submenu doesn’t show up. I noticed when I remove this code <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js from header.php the submenu appears. But without that code my slider doesn’t work.

I hope you understand what I mean, and I also hope there is a easy fix to this problem. Could you please tell me how to fix this problem?

Thanks a lot in advance

sevenspark

Hi bokazini,

It sounds like you have a javascript conflict from your theme. If that line of code is in your header.php, it means the theme has not properly enqueued jQuery, and that is probably the issue.

If you would like to create a thread in the Support Forum and post a link to your site, I’ll be happy to take a look for you :)

Best,

Chris

Thanks for your quick reply,

I started a thread on your forum.

I’ve replied to your thread on the forum :) Not seeing any errors, I think you just needed to switch from Click mode into Hover mode.

Chris

I just noticed the above about the new support forum. I’ll post there.

sevenspark

Thanks! I’ve replied in the forum :)

Your Plugin has made my life much easier, kindly fix one thing. when we press ENTER after entering text in any field, instead of Submitting and Saving Settings, It Pop Ups the ‘Reset Settings’ and i accidently reset my settings Twice, thats very annoying.

sevenspark

Thanks for your feedback, glad you like the plugin! In my tests, this should only occur in the Advanced panel, where the reset button resides, so hopefully that annoyance is not too prevalent. However, I will improve that part of the interface in the next version :)

Best,

Chris

I’m trying to list my taxonomies in columns in the submenu instead of the regular flyout layout. Any idea how I can do that?

Thanks!

How can I get rid of the arrows?

sevenspark

I’ve replied to your forum post, and the answer is here in the guide: How to remove the arrow indicators

Hello, I have bought UberMenu and it is very nice. I have a question : is it possible to change the css of the drop down menu with transparence (dealing with opacity) ? PS : excuse my english : I am french.

sevenspark

Hi fsutter,

Yes, you can set an opacity value on the submenu UL using custom CSS . Please note that all support is handled through the Support Forum, and if you need further assistance, kindly post there. Thanks!

Hi sevenspark Thanks for your answer. I have tried to connect the forum, but it says that my email is not the right one and when i put the item purchase code, I am not able to create an account.

You need to use your Envato username and email address. If you continue to have difficulties, please contact me via my contact form.

Hello Sevenspark,

I´m deciding wether or not to buy a license of UberMenu but when I test responsiveness of the menu at IETester, it seems like it does not work in IE8 . But I don´t know if it is a software problem. I just want to make sure that the UberMenu is responsive for IE8 as well.

Thank you,

Marcel.

sevenspark

Hi Marcel,

I just tested the Gala demo, http://demo.designerthemes.com/gala/ , in IE8 , and it is not responsive in that browser (tested in IETester and IE Emulator). As I mentioned, that’s to be expected, since IE8 does not support media queries, which are one of the foundations of responsive design (and what make it possible).

To my knowledge, modernizr does not make media queries work in IE8 . I’s purpose is feature detection, not feature replication (which is what a polyfill does).

Again, you can use a polyfill to achieve responsiveness if you desire – supposedly they are plug-and-play (no configuration necessary, just include the javascript), but I don’t have any first-hand knowledge using them, so I can’t guarantee or support them.

Hope that helps :)

Hi Chris,

Thanks for you reply. I´m frustated as I thought Gala would be responsive to IE8 (I actually thought that only IE7 and lower wouldn´t respond to media queries). Well, I´ll buy the menu anyway because I really like what I see, and hope that the world will upgrade fast to IE9 . Thank you for all your informations.

Regards,

Marcel.

You’re welcome, hope you enjoy the menu! :)

Chris

Hi,

is this plugin compatible with the genesis framework?

sevenspark

Hi socialist1911,

Yes, you’ll just need to add a few lines of PHP code to your functions.php to remove some residual styling. You can review http://wpmegamenu.com/help/#theme-genesis for details :)

Hi Sevenspark,

Plugin is fantastic. Works perfect in safari, chrome and FF. Just have a fer issues in IE.

On IE the menu displays items are vertical, not horizontal. Also most of the preset stylings are not working on IE.

I have turned on the IE fix and turned off HTML5 on the UBER Menu in WP, but still no luck.

The website is: http://viveya.co/

Thanks

Paul

sevenspark

Hi Paul,

Thanks, glad you like the plugin! :)

I took a look at your site and I believe the issue is that you have a line of HTML printed before the doctype declaration. Currently your HTML source looks like this:

<div class="home">
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
...
</div>

As a result, IE doesn’t read the doctype and renders in quirksmode, which breaks everything. (You can’t have anything before the doctype).

I believe removing the .home div from the top of the document will resolve the issue.

If you have further questions, kindly post them in the support forum, thanks! http://support.sevenspark.com

Cool plugin. But one questions…

Is it possible to align a mega menu to its parent li element? (The same as how a regular fly out menu is aligned)

At the moment I am simply setting the sub menu’s left value to “auto !important”, which works okay. Only problem is that this could go off the screen unlike the regular mega menu which will not go wider than the container.

Hope this makes sense :S

Thanks!

sevenspark

Hi smilledge,

You have it right that if you customize the menu to align the submenu to the parent LI, it has the potential to run off the page, since there is no natural boundary between LI start and UL end. If you set the submenu to full width, it’ll automatically be the width of the entire menu bar – so that’ll definitely run off on anything but the first menu item. If you turn off full width, can overflow by a small amount, but would be mostly contained.

If you need to align your submenus to the parent LI, my recommendation would be to set an explicit width as well.

If you have additional questions, kindly post them in the support forum – http://support.sevenspark.com – thanks!

Chris

Encore merci ! : Kiss:

Hi chikungunya,

I don’t speak French unfortunately, but I did run your comment through a translation program, so I think I got the idea.

You’re very welcome! Thanks for your comment and I’m glad you’ve found UberMenu useful! :)

All the best,

Chris
