looks great, but still not entirely sure hot it works. Can it be added to WP?

aleksandrovamaryna

Hi,

Never tried it with WP, but I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t work.

Hi,

I do not understand the use of your script. I tried to use it with my search engine but that does not function.

<form action="search.php" method="post">
<div class="black-theme-demo">
    <div class="search-box black-style">
    <span class="magnify-glass" />
        <div class="filters" />
    <input type="text" name="query" class="search-input"/>
    <span class="clear-search-input-button" role="button" tabindex="0" aria-label="Clear search" />
    </div>
</div>
</form>

Can you help me to understand the use?

Thanks!

Mick

Hi Mick_,

Can you explain in more details what kind of problem do you have?

If it’s just visual – try following code:
<form action="search.php" method="post" class="black-theme-demo">
    <div class="search-box black-style">
    <span class="magnify-glass" />
        <div class="filters" />
    <input type="text" name="query" class="search-input"/>
    <span class="clear-search-input-button" role="button" tabindex="0" aria-label="Clear search" />
    </div>
</form>

If you have problem with functionality – send me email (hello@marynaaleksandrova.info) with more details.

But in general: it’s not enough just to put this code into your page. You need to write custom javascript. E.x. submit form with jquery using data from filters. Search-box provides API to get filters values.

Maryna,

Nice work. I love your aesthetic sense (also purchased your winter animation). What I want to know is—do you offer your css3 animated gears system for sale?

Cheers, RPW

aleksandrovamaryna

Thank you so much!

Gears system is for free! I open sourced it:) Files can be found here https://github.com/marynaaleksandrova/portfolio/tree/master/public/labs/gears-system

Hi, do you have any recommendations for a “live” jquery filter function that works well with this?

aleksandrovamaryna

Not sure, I clearly understand what you ask for. Can you explain a bit more detailed? With example, if possible.

Nice, Can I use this to search a MySQL databse?

aleksandrovamaryna

It’s just UI component. It doesn’t perform search. It allows you to specify the set of filters, which you can later use with your data. It doesn’t search in database.
