Hi, I have a few quick questions before I download. The plugin looks awesome btw. I’m not a developer but I have a custom theme made with Genesis. I’ve recently had some plugins cause some havoc because of Genesis and was wondering if this plugin will affect my theme at all or if there is a possibility it could “break” my theme. Thanks.
Because Obox Mobile is only rendered when on a mobile device it should not affect your Genesis theme. We have tested the plugin on as many popular frameworks as possible (Obox, Woo, Genesis, Elegant Themes) and have so far only seen positive results.
Hope that clears things up, if you have any other questions please let me know.
does it work with elegant themes? Their theme http://www.elegantthemes.com/preview/Minimal/ isn’t responsive and their mobile plugin, handheld can’t pull in gallery and contact form.
They said their handheld plugin doesnt support page templates so their handheld plugin is useless with those themes.
Can obox mobile work with page templates?
Obox Mobile 2 can list custom post types on the home page however it’s not possible to display them in sub pages. This is a core issue with many mobile plugins and we have yet to come up with a perfect solution.
So if you only need to list it on the home page then Obox Mobile is for you, however custom post types like galleries etc will be an issue.
Hope that helps, if you have any other questions please let me know.
hi dave, so that means its not possible to show gallery on the mobile site with your plugin?
the gallery i meant was the gallery pulled out from existing desktop site’s gallery. such as this site: http://www.primamedia.com.sg/demo/dynamech
hi? you there?
Is the gallery coming from a custom post type? Or is it coming from the WordPress media gallery? If it is coming from the WP Media Gallery then it will display fine on Obox Mobile.
However if its a custom post type then it won’t display.
Hi there, some pre-sales questions:
1) I’ve been wasting enormous amounts of time trying out different mobile conversion apps – they all seem to ignore sliders (even popular ones like Nivo), will this one show sliders?
2) Is this plugin compatible with the grid? Previous mobile plugins were showing grid shortcodes on the live site (like one_third /one_third)
3) Will the plugin show content within iFrames? This is extremely important since I need to use it on an eCommerce site that pulls all of its shop content into iFrames within each page.
Firstly, I am terribly sorry for such a late response.
1) Obox Mobile will only support its built-in slider. Since we’re serving a completely different template to your main site, it’s not possible to integrate with it’s slider.
2) I am not aware of which grid you’re referring to?
3) iFrames will be displayed depending on which mobile device you’re visiting your site with. Older versions of iOS and Android may have issues with iFrames.
I am building this site http://web11.itvet.co.uk/~itvet/ and I wanna make it full width on mobile, is it possible by using this plugin I can create the exact same look (how it appears on desktop) on mobile as well?
Please address so I can buy it. Do you also provide installations, we already used too many JS files on the website, will it gonna conflict?
Obox Mobile will only work for the blog element on your site. Unfortunately it is not possible to show the custom post types that your current theme has.
I would suggest installing a responsive theme or paying a design to create a responsive layout for you. We have a group of professional theme modifiers who I would recommend using:
Can I use this plugin in for a “full website” that does not contain a blog? Maybe for a crowd funding platform?
Unfortunately not, Obox Mobile is designed for your regular WordPress posts and pages only. It is not able to detect and output Custom Post Types.
Dang well its a beautiful set up. Please keep me notified if you create a version that works with a custom post type. I’d throw out a $50 dollar bill without hesitation.
Thank you J, hopefully in the future WordPress can make it easier for us to format custom post types!
Hi, I’m interested in purchasing this beautiful plugin.
But my site is already mobile friendly. I have GIGAWATT.
I want Obox Mobile 2 for its menu.
I don’t want my home page or pages or posts. I don’t want nothing to change except the menu
Can this be done? And the posts, pages, home page not be modified?
Maybe you can look at my site and tell me? If you have an email I can send you the link to my site
Unfortunately this isn’t possible with Obox Mobile. If you use the plugin then the design of your site will change on mobile devices.
If you would like to use the same kind of menu from Obox Mobile then I would suggest using one of our Approved Modifiers to help you modify Gigawatt accordingly

Hi, I have Evato-Enfold theme on my website, but I have deleted the responsive code from the theme, My question is, Do I have to rebuilt all the pages under this plugin or it will dynamically understand the pages and show content on mobile
I’m really sorry for such a late response.
Obox Mobile will only work for your blog and home page, unfortunately we are not able to display the unique sub pages that Enfold creates (using shortcodes and custom post types etc.).
I use lot’s of plugins: sabaiDiscuss, sabaiDirectory, bbpress, bydupress…
Will your plgin make this plugin responsible?
Unfortunately not, Obox Mobile is designed purely to work with your WordPress blogging section.
Ok. But will Obox Mobile 2 load pages with other plugins? I will make the responsible myself.
It will load the pages yes, the styling may be a bit ‘off’ though but it will definitely load.
I want to use it on multisite. Will it work?
How does obox handle tablets?
Plugins like wptouch support iPad, etc.
Like this plugin but would like some available tablet feature.
hello? anyone out there?
Obox Mobile only activates on mobile phones. The plugin will not display on Tablets, we are considering increasing the screen width at which it will activate but this still won’t apply to iPads and Nexus’.
does this have the capability to mobilize the admin login and admin panel as well?
It only renders the front end mobile friendly. It’s designed for your readers to have a great experience on mobile as opposed to enhancing the admin section.
in case I have audio and video player. Is it possible to play it in background?
It is not possible with Obox Mobile I’m afraid.
