If the user clears their browser cache, will the note still be available on the website, or does it get wiped also?

No, the notes will be safe. They are stored in localStorage, not the cache or cookies. So clearing the cache or cookies will not affect the notes.

Is it easy to customize the styling?

Yes. All the styling is in an external CSS file, so it is easy to modify assuming you know some CSS .
