Thank you!
Hello, I havent purchased this yet but wanted to know if this is possible? I’d like to purchase this plugin but need to know if this works and is able to be done. Also, I have a couple plugins that utilize HTML optin forms (popup dominator which is a plugin that pops up a newsletter subscription form for you to subscribe and would like to be able to generate an HTML form via Newsletter Tycoon and embed that HTML form into the popup domination script.
Also, how does internal handling of the newsletter subscriptions work? Are these handled internally on the database?
These are the only questions / things I’d like to know before purchasing this plugin.
Thanks!
Hi,
Is this plugin still being actively developed?
Yes, it is. It’s not tested with 3.5 yet, so you might want to wait till next week. Why do you ask?
I was wanting to possibly purchase but things didn’t look too active.
Thanks Joe
Things aren’t active as no bugs have been reported lately. The plugin works as expected. I’m here to fix any bugs, though.
If I use something like Blubrry PowerPress will the mp3 file be included in the email if I select to show the full content on the latest post in the email being sent out?
It will not be included, only a link will.
I have installed the plugin and sent out a test email. My author name is not being displayed.
In the email I get January 2, 2013 – Posted by with no author name. My template is the default one of {DATE} – Posted by {AUTHOR}
Also there is a mp3 file attached to the post which does not seem to be linked to anywhere…is there a fix for this?
I will check and get back to you.
OK, it’s fixed. I’ll release an update tonight or tomorrow morning.
Hi, has this update been released yet?
Yes, it has. See the changelog – “Fixed author field not appearing”. Regarding your mp3 file, does it have a link?
It now seems to show the first name but not the last name. Also still no mp3 link in the email being sent out. I am using PowerPress for the mp3 management.
Joe, let me understand, are you linking the mp3 file to a word? Or is it a shortcode? The {AUTHOR} shows the display name, so check your profile page and see what’s inside your “Display Name” select box.
My “Display name publicly as” is set to First Last. The MP# file I guess would be an audio file attachment. Feedburner currently does something like this
This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now (this links to the mp3 file)
OK, let me check the mp3 file attachment and the author name behaviour. It should work though. I’ll get back with an answer in a couple of hours.
Version 1.4.1.1 fixes the author name. Your mp3 link is attached using a shortcode, so it won’t work. I checked the PowerPress plugin. If you link the mp3 manually, it will work. Version 1.4.1.1 should be up by tomorrow.
Can I email you directly, or via some support forum?
Yes, go ahead. Email me and I’ll reply. There’s a box in my profile page, lower right sidebar.
Author name is now fixed! Thanks!
You’re welcome! Don’t forget to rate the plugin!
Hi,
Is there anyway to fix the image alignment in emails being sent out?
Thanks Joe
The images are either left aligned or full-width, depending on the image size. What do you mean by fixing?
Wordpress uses a class of alignright to align images to the right. Email clients do not understand this and this gives you a rather ugly looking email.
The only way to fix this is by adding an align and hspace parameter inside the IMG tag for the alignment and spacing for email clients (img align=left/right hspace=value)
I don’t know how easy this would be to do for newsletters being sent out, but it should would make a big difference in presentation.
My comment seems to be lost. I know what you’re talking about and I was thinking about something else in my previous comment. I’ll definitely implement image styles in the next version.

Hi, When you address image styles, I am noticing that captions are displayed like this
[caption id=attachment_1165 align=alignright width=279]
in the emails being sent. Do you have an estimate on how long before the image styles will be implemented? The site I have this installed on has images in every post, but until the image alignment and caption styles are fixed I have to continue using feedburner.
Thanks Joe
I have added the WordPress core styles for image alignment. Next version, in a day or two, will remove the captions.
Hi. Are the images supposed to align correctly in emails being sent out now or are they still using the default wordpress image alignment styles? Thanks.
They use the default WordPress CSS styles, so the images should align correctly.
OK, the problem is email clients do not read those styles that wordpress uses to align images. The alignment actually has to be on the image tag. The only way to fix this I guess is by adding an align and hspace parameter inside the IMG tag for the alignment and spacing for email clients (img align=left/right hspace=value). You will notice wordpress does not align its images this way, which means that they are not being aligned properly when viewed in an email client.
I don’t know how much work is involved in this…
You could either do this manually for your posts or include CSS styles into the post. I guess the first option would be the best.
Unfortunately then I can no longer use this plugin. To force the user to manually set image alignment for every image outside of the wordpress image editor is too cumbersome.
I suppose you have a special category for the newsletter. That’s how it’s done. You could format only those posts, as I suppose you don’t send the newsletter daily. The plugin has an option for a special category.
Version 1.5.1 is ready. It brings improved security and it removes shortcodes (including the stubborn “caption” one).
I have a question but I am pretty sure its at the risk of sounding dumb but…
If I buy this and when I want to send emails on a weekly basis, how does it pull the title/body from??? RSS feeds or do I have to put the content of each post manually?
It’s not a dumb question. The plugins pulls the title and body from your posts (or pages, or custom post types). You don’t have to do anything manually.
Hi! I have bought the plugin and I must say I like it but I need to modify some things and I am not sure how. Since my site is in Croatian, I need to translate all text (optin confirmation, unsubscribe…). Can I do it in Wordpress plugin editor and where exactly? Also, I would like to adjust the Widget width od the form for e-mail (to make it the width of my sidebar), can I do that? I have some other suggestions for future development, but this is my primary problem. Thanks in advance!
Could you contact me via email? We’ll sort things out there.
Thanks for your quick help! Great plugin, and great support!
Hi,
It is seen that the plugin does not have an option to exclude any Wordpress categorie. Do you have any plan to add this feature? Or is it possible to do it by adding some codes / using Wordpress Functions?
I have a category where I post advertisement articles and I don’t want to bother my subscribers with such updates.
Hi there, I bought this plugin from you earlier, it seems great. However I have 6 subscribers and I want to Export to CSV but when I click the export button I’m directed to the next page it says “Cannot access this file.”
Any ideas mate??
I’m working on a new version and I’ll check. It might be related to your file permissions. Do you have permissions to run/read files in your /wp-content/ directory? Usually 755.
Yeah I have it set yo 755 mate.
Does this plugin allow for notifications of specific categories to be automatically sent?
