Figured it out.

In my situation, allowing ‘fopen’ on my server is turned off by default.

If you add ‘allow_url_fopen = On’ to your php.ini file you may find this solves your “Page title not available” error goes away. It did for me.

Chris – perhaps an alternative solution to the need for ‘fopen’ in future versions of My Link Shortener?

Hi, on long URL it keepts on “Gathering link info..” hou can I fix it?

UPDATE : the url is save on dt, and the shot ulr works good, but when never end the “Gathering link info..”

maybe you can ads panel and ads on frame, and when script grab site title , special characters arent shown correctly. very good script.

I bought this script some time ago but have not yet used it, but have a question before I migrate to this script.

Is there any spambot prevention build in? Because with my current script I get hundreds of automated links shortened to adult and hacked websites per day. And of course my policy is not to link to that kind of pages. This means I have to delete those hundreds of links to keep the service clean. Of course I would like to use a script where I don’t need to delete spam links everyday. If spam prevention is build in I will take a look at migrating to this script.

Great script!. I would have liked to have some kind of a language file so it would be easier to translate. I would suggest that the get_remote_title could function gets changed to this: http://pastie.org/837501 . Advantages: Uses cURL if installed. Works if title is on more than one line. Removes any tab-characters e.g. like on YouTube
