Hey Sen7, I love the script.

I know this has been mentioned by several other commenters, but I really want to get rid of the “index.php” in the URL . It’s unnecessary. I set $config[‘index_page’] to NULL as wssltd suggested bu then only the homepage works.

I’m not familiar with Codeignitor, so I’m not comfortable jumping into the code and trying to find the problem. I saw in the config.php file a comment about using mod_rewrite to remove the index.php. Will you please give me some help in fixing this?

Also, is there an easy way to remove the “category” folder in the URL as well?

Demo’s not working, redirecting to a landing page. Am quite interested, but not interested in buying before seeing a demo. If you could fix this it would be much appreciated.

For those looking to REMOVE index.php, it took me a long time to find a solution that works with my server. So that you don’t have to search endlessly yourself, here’s the solution:

The answer from jimbo2087 worked like a charm.

For those looking to REMOVE index.php following changes works for me. No other change required. No need to change default .htaccess

under linkr/application/config.php

line 36:

$config['index_page'] = "index.php";
change to
$config['index_page'] = "";

line 54:

$config['uri_protocol']    = "PATH_INFO";
change to
$config['uri_protocol']    = "ORIG_PATH_INFO";

Here is a quick feedback after a month. This is a great script (definitely worth the money) but you must know how Code Igniter works. If you don’t, you wont’ be able to customize linkr the way you want. I’m a PHP dev, I never really used this framework and I don’t have the time to learn it, and depending on what I want to do it can be really annoying…

Admin area is OK, but several options have been forgotten, mostly from on SEO point of view : custom header tags injection, custom friendly URLs, etc. There are also small bugs (impossible to delete custom fields…), but it’s not a problem, as long as you can access your db.

In the end this is a great script, but don’t put your customization expectations too high if you don’t know the Code Igniter Framework.

Will there be a updated release with SEO functions? Please update with some SEO basics because the SEO is not good at all.

I am liking the code although I am having issues with browsers blocking the out-linking as links open in new windows and seems most browsers are by default blocking the windows as Pop-Ups.

I couldn’t find the exact location of catagory icon for each to replace with various catagory icon, could you please let me know where exactly I find if?
