Is it possible to have the submenu display under the major categories? We want to use this for displaying subcategories and the list is kind of long in some of them.

Sorry, this is pure JavaScript plugin, not WP plugin. This menu is limited to three sections and three positions in each, this might be quite limiting. Other than that – I don’t think there are any problems with WP.
