Sorry for your trouble, I will look into the bug. First time I was informed of it. Let me download the recent update and see what may be the problem. Looks like a simple patch will fix it if it does exist on the recent script update.

Patch:

`cnum` mediumtext NOT NULL

Create this field for the ‘articles’ table. Use phpmyadmin to add the new field. The SQL text file did not have this field and was causing the error.

I have updated the download script

Can we have multiple users to submit articles?

Sorry, no, only admin can submit articles. However, you could hire someone to add this feature. It would not be that hard to incorporate that functionality into the script.

Hi, can I have a preview, for example of the last 5 news – first 30 carachters each news, on my homepage?

You can control this in the config.php file

$config[‘articles_per_page’] = 5;

$config[‘articles_home_limit’] = 30; // used to trim homepage articles

Hi, I can add images using the html editor, but I’m having trouble with the image upload in the WYSIWYG . I intend to use it with a real client so it’s important that this feature works. I changed the folder wysiwyg/addons/upload permission to chmod 777 as you said, tryed to leave the $dirscriptin empty too with no sucess.

I didn’t understand what you meant by “if you did not upload the script to its own directory” , i didn’t change the folder structure of your files, so I hope this information can help you.

Thanks for the file, It was easily implemented in the project except for this.

If in

$dirscriptin = ’/article2’;

or if you put it in a new directory called ‘script’:

$dirscriptin = ’/script’;

Hi Bigbrain… So far i can see this a fantastic piece of code. I´m seriously considering to buy it.

Could you please answer me a couple questions to help me determine if this is exactly what i need?

1. I want to integrate it with a already done website but i dont want the right column and the search box. I just need the article list and the articles themselves (once loaded). Is it possible to edit the template easily to accomplish this?

2. I would need to transalte some of the text to spanish… is this possible? no trouble with latin characters?

3. How much do you charge freelance work to coustomize this a little bit.??

Thanks

1. Yes, you can do this by editing the template and css files

2. Yes, you can do this by editing the language file and setting the proper encoding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Character_encodings_in_HTML

3. Yes, I can customize it for you. I charge by the hour for this service.

There is a bug iif you use >‘< in the title.

For example if your title is: “Let’s Do Something”, the Share Article inputs aren’t working.

The script needs a page to Edit the Categories names, or is there a way to change the name of a category?

You would have to modify the class to do this. It is not supported with this version.

It looks like you may have put HTML code above your PHP code in your files. This will generate this error.
