Hi there, I like how easy it is to add a caption, but I’m wondering how do you add caption without there also being a mouseover title appearing? If the caption is big enough this can be very distracting.
Hi jabba52, Thanks for the purchase!
With the current code, the title can’t be removed because imagebox retrieves the text from the title to use in the caption.
The only way to not show the title is to somehow prevent the tooltip from popping up, but I don’t know of a way to do this.
Thanks for this, can you position the imagebox window? If yes, how?
Hello,
great script!
but doesnt work with hotspots from imagemaps ?
doesnt work, is there a possibility ?
Thanks
Hi
is there a possibility to modificate the code that the script funcionality with hotspots – have you a idea ?
Thanks und greets
i bought the script as the demo looked sweet – but am trying to load it via a ajax form
i read some of the earlier comments and someone else mentioned having the same problems i have
do you ever come up with an updated version that addressed this issue
i will definitely use it for other projects but would have been really good to include it on this one i am currently working on
thanks
I set the options using the uncompressed js and then minified it, but now I get an error that says the script is missing a ”;” somewhere.
Can you make the uncompressed version able to be minified? Otherwise it doesn’t do me too much good to be able to specify options in the uncompressed version…
Hi markdelorey,
I have have tried to fix this before but some compressors seem to mess-up part of the code. To create the compressed file included with imagebox I used the CompressorRater: http://compressorrater.thruhere.net/ and used the gzip YUI version.
If this doesn’t work, the options in the compressed file are easy to find and edit. They are very close to the top of the file.
It doesn’t play nice at all on IE8 with PIE
Just had this reported to me.
Did some research on PIE and it significantly slows down JS in IE8 , cant be blamed on imagebox!
doesn’t seem to work properly in ie8, works fine on initial load, but when I go to new page it doesn’t work! I have to reload the page by pressing f5 before it starts working again!

Moving the meta tags did the trick, thanks for the quick response, great script by the way.
Got another problem, imagebox.js seems to cause an eeror with this banner http://codecanyon.net/item/li-jquery-sliderimage-rotator/153638
when I place the script after the “li-jquery-sliderimage-rotators” script it messes up the banner, and the other way around messes up the image viewer!
any ideas?

Awesome, thanks!
How would i make it so the image pops up and fill the browser window or is a big as possible?
Hi lizzard86,
The box will popup to the size of the image that you put in it. If the image is too big, it will only get large enough to fill the browser window.
To make the image fill the browser window, you would have to make it as large, or large than, the window. There is also an option you can set (viewportPadding) that will specify how much space will be between the box and the edge of the window.
I want to showcase some work, is there any way to click on the gallery image and have a limited number of images show up instead of listing all of them?
Hi ndgurlie,
You can create multiple galleries with specific images in each of them. If you add the gallery name at the end of rel=”imagebox” like so: rel=”imagebox[gallery_name]”
Only the images with the same gallery name will be opened when you click the thumbnail.
I hope this answers your question. Thanks for the purchase!
WOW !! Amazing update – thanks
