Hello Jack,

Since the last time, I bought and used your gallery. Very good job !

I tried to edit the CSS to make it responsive. But I had a problem with the thumbnails and small resolutions. I look in the core JS and found the “minWidth = 600” parameter. The 600 is hard coded and I change it to 400 (for mobile view).

But now, I want to know how can I minimize/encode ,like your cj-galleryjack-core.min.js, the original core JS ?

Thanks you :)

Here’s the site I use:

I just use the default settings. Hope that helps :)

Very nice script!

I have two questions:How can I place the loading indicator in the center of the browser and can I use another animated icon? Currently the most user I think will overlook the icon at the top right corner. The images I am using are very big 0.5~1MB.

Hi KiddyBear,

Sure, the CSS for the preloader can be found in the “css/cj_gallery.css” file on line #180. You can alter the CSS there, or you can also add some custom CSS to the html file to override it. Here’s some custom CSS that would accomplish that:

<style type="text/css">

    #cj-gallery #cj-preloader {

        position: absolute;
        top: 50%;
        left: 50%;

        float: none;
        width: 27px;
        padding-left: 8px;
        margin: -10px 0 0 -10px;

    }

</style>

Place it right before the closing “head” tag on your page. The find the HTML markup that looks like this:

<div id="cj-preloader"><img src="img/cj_gallery/graphics/preloader.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="preloader" /></div>

It’s the first element inside the div with the id “cj-author-info”. Move the preloader div above to be the first element inside the “cj-gallery” div. So it looks like this:

<div id="cj-gallery">

    <div id="cj-preloader"><img src="img/cj_gallery/graphics/preloader.gif" width="19" height="19" alt="preloader" /></div>
    <!-- additional gallery markup below -->

</div>

Then you can change the gif image there to be whatever you want. Just keep in mind that the preloader has a background graphic with a defined size, so if your new gif is larger or smaller, you may need to adjust the preloader div’s width and height as well.

hi

great piece of script. Can you make it in a CMS (I mean a back end so as to easily upload images and create categories?

How much will the customization cost?

Default-user

How easy is it to place the codes/script in a website. Do you provide full support in case of difficulties? Thanks

CodingJack

Hi Akshaye,

A CMS isn’t included but there is an option for gallery automation. The example for that is “ajax.html”, and there’s a video tutorial inside the help document for using this option.

The html files are thoroughly commented and the help document covers several topics for using the gallery, including what HTML/CSS/Scripts need to get copied over to your web page. The support I provide doesn’t include setting up the gallery for you, but I’m always available to answer questions if you’re having trouble setting the gallery up.

Hi Jack,

Thank you for the exiting script. However I can’t make my video work in IE at all. I have uploaded .htaccess with AddType video/mp4 .mp4 AddType video/ogg .ogv AddType video/webm .webm but it doesn’t make any difference. In Chrome I successfully attached one video, but had stocked with another one which doesn’t show up in the video player.

I mean I successfully attached one of 2 videos that works in Chrome, but another one doesn’t and I did just the same way for both.

Default-user

It works in Chrome, just my mistake. Still remains not working in IE.

Thanks Jack. I was able to find a way out. One of my video had quite a long name, I change it and that was it. So I’m good. Thanks again.

Hi Jack. Love this gallery. Is there any way to specify some text for an alt tag for the images?

willwenzel

sorry, no need to reply. Forgot that this is a ul/li, and not a group of images.

Hi Jack, I use you script for a while now and Im VERY happy with it so thank you for that :)

I mainly use the fullscreen gallery and I really feel the need of adding responsiveness to allow swipe movements on my iPad to go to the next or previous picture. Do you plan to add that or is it easy to implement?

Cheers!

Hello,

I have encountered a problem while trying to set up your gallery. If I remove categories container, cj-fit mode stops working for some reason.

Can you please take a look at it?

Thank you, Nikita

CodingJack

Hi Nikita,

Yes I see that. I’ll make an update, and until it’s live, send me an email from my profile page and I’ll send you the update.

Hi There, Its a great product, expect one serious issue for our purpose.

- Can’t right click and save the image, we want our clients to download the gallery image…. after enabled right click button, when trying to save a gallery image its saying the background bitmap instead of actual image off a gallery.

Thanks in advance Kaviya

CodingJack

Hi Kaviya,

The following code should work for this. Add it directly below all the other gallery scripts:

<style type="text/css">

    #cj-gallery {width: auto; height: auto;}

</style>

<script type="text/javascript">

    jQuery(document).ready(function() {jQuery('.cj-bg-click').remove();});

</script>

Hi, The ajax version is not working with png images, is this possible? where am I wrong?

Thanks, Romolo

Hi Romolo,

Inside the file named “php/cj-ajax.php”, at the end of line #34 you’ll see ”.jpg”. Change it to ”.png” instead.

Hi Jack, Thank you for your quick reply, now it work perfectly. I want to ask you if there is a way to not stretch the image but to leave the size as is even if in the full screen mode. I have some low resolution images and I don’t want to see them in full screen but in their original size.

Thank you, Romolo

CodingJack

Hi Romolo,

You could use the “Fixed Sized” version to make sure your images are never scaled. Otherwise, send me an email from my profile page and I’ll send you an option for this.

How do I keep the image info box visible through the slide change, instead of it fading in and out with each slide transition? Thanks

CodingJack

Hi Carl,

The script would have to be updated, but it’s a small change, so send me an email from my profile page and I’ll send you the modification.

Hi again! My client wants to have images numbers to be display like Image 1 of XX etc. Is this possible, maybe with the API?

CodingJack

Hi KiddyBear,

Yes this could be added using the API like this:

<script type="text/javascript">

    jQuery(document).ready(function(e) {

        var categories = jQuery('#cj-bg-images').children('ul'),
        textElement = jQuery('.some-text-element');

        jQuery.cjBgSlideshow.addCallback('imagechange', function() {

            var current = jQuery.cjBgSlideshow.getIsOn() + 1,
            total = categories.eq(jQuery.cjBgSlideshow.getCatOn()).children().length;

            textElement.text(current + '/' + total);

        });

    });

</script>

That script should be added after all the current gallery scripts. And then here’s the HTML/CSS part for the example:

HTML
<!-- this should have a closing "div" tag, the forum here doesn't display it correctly -->
<div class="some-text-element" />
CSS:
.some-text-element {

    position: fixed;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    background: white;
    display: inline-block;
    padding: 20px;
    z-index: 9999;

}

For some reason, even though I’ve adjusted my photos to be right side up, it keeps displaying the photos sideways?

CodingJack

Hi Rikudesu,

There isn’t anything in the gallery that would cause this, as no 3D properties such as “rotate” are ever applied to the images. So my guess is your template might have some CSS that rotates all images, or maybe your images are just being saved sideways (you can verify that by viewing the image’s url directly in the browser).

If you’re still having trouble, send me an email from my profile page and I’ll be happy to help you further.

Hello Jack,

Thanks for this nice contribution.

I would like to offset on Y only some of the picture. Indeed, even when using the stretch-center, some of my images are too “low” on the Y axis, on 16:10 screen (laptop). I saw there is the possibility to set offsetY but this of course affect all the images.

Any idea how to do that onyl for some of the photos ?

Regards. Phil

CodingJack

Hi Phil,

Using “stretch-center”, the images should be centered both horizontally and vertically. Send me an email from my profile page along with a link to your example + the pixel resolution of your monitor (1400×900, etc.) and I’ll help you solve this.

Hi, I have 22 categories :stress: . Can I put only the category-name near left bar of browser? .cj-category with align:absolute dont work. Thank you

CodingJack

Hi Lucarc,

In the html, search for this:

<div id="cj-categories" />

and then move it to the very bottom of the gallery’s HTML (so it’s no longer inside one of the gallery’s HTML containers).

Then inside the “cj_gallery.css” file, search for ”#cj-categories”, and change the entire rule to this:

#cj-categories {

    font: 18px "Questrial", sans-serif;
    color: #CCC;

    text-align: left;
    margin-top: 6px;
    padding-bottom: 6px;

    position: absolute;
    top: 10px;
    left: 10px;

}

Then directly below that, change the ”.cj-category” rule to this:

.cj-category {

    display: block !important;
    /* padding: 0 14px 0 14px !important; */

}

Hi,
thanks for the impressive Gallery application :]

Two questions occured during its implementation:
1. Is it possible to link one of the thumbnails to an external link/url?
2. Is it possible to prevent a thumbnail from opening a big pic?

Background: On the startpage the thumbnails shall represent categories and by clicking one of them the visitor will get to a category-page where the thumbnails work as links to bigger images as usual.
In other words: I need a category-navigation as a thumbnail slider.

Thanks in advance!
Andreas

This would probably be possible with some adjustments to the script. Send me an email from my profile page and I’ll see if I can help you out.
