Matt Gentile

One little thing I wish it had tho, is a way to remove the fonts from the upload screen. Also maybe a way to add more form elements to edit the custom selectors font and size.

Other than that, fantastic plugin, well worth the $10!

Hi! The plugin works really well so far. I just have a small newbie question.

I don’t know how to make separate font styles for h1, h2, h3, h4 separately. It seems that I just can choose one font style for all together…

Klaus

You will need to use the advanced elements to do that.

figured it out just right now. I put always # or . in front. Didn’t know to do it without!! Great!

Oh I got 2 more questions:

1. Wil always the full font be loaded? How is speed of page loading compared to googlefonts or crufon?

Will text still found by seo?

regards,

Klaus

Excellent.

Yes, the full font will always be loaded, so you will see a small impact on load time, but it really depends on the size of your font. It’s just like loading images. Google fonts will be faster because everything is hosted on external servers, and cufon I’m not sure about.

Yes, text is still found by SEO .

hi! I have a little problem. somehow my fonts are displayed slightly thicker than they should be in all browsers, iphone &ipad. when I load the page first time, it is just for a small moment shown in the real thickness but then got bolder (all just tested on Mac).

do you know what this could be? CSS . plugins?

it’s not a big problem but it annoys me and I can’t find out why this happens.

here is my test site:

http://wp.klausdyba.com

here is the font how it should look like:

Looks like a problem with the quality of the font file. The page that has the “nice” looking fonts is using images.

Try finding a higher quality version of that font.

How sure are you regarding SEO ?

Cuz in the demo none of the custom font texts are showing in the page source code/html.

Since that’s what google reads I think he cant figure what is written using this method…

Yes, I’m completely sure. The demo page has cufon enabled and is not using this plugin. The demo page is primarily for the video.

I’m having problems getting my header and navigation to change, I’m using headway3 theme could this be the reason and what can I do to change it? I’m also tryig to find the advanced documentation, I’m sure it’s me being stupid but I can’t see it on any site relating to this plugin.

Thanks Dan. Ps great plugin :)

I’ve tried both but it doesn’t seem to work. In the custom I’ve written navigation in 1 field and header in another. Do I need to type anything more?

This looks like a promising plugin. I do have a question: Does this plugin allow the font to be selectable in the content editor, when editing pages/posts etc? Or do you need to use CSS to get the fonts to appear properly? I have a client that wants to be able to select specific fonts form the back-end editor.

If this plugin doesn’t do that and if you know another way to do that a pointer is always appreciated.

No, it doesn’t make the fonts available in the editor. You can, however, use the plugin to modify the fonts of the content.

You can, for example, setup a font using the advanced elements that changes all HTML elements with a class of “my-font” to your custom font. Then in your content wrap the text you want changed with either a DIV or SPAN tag, like this:

<span class="my-font">This text will have the new font.</span>

Does that help?

Only plugins hosted on the official plugin repository can be installed via search.

And how did you download and install it? You haven’t purchased it.

Hi there!

The font I uploaded is not working well – it seems that it’s distorted somehow.

When I use it elsewhere, it works fine.

I’m using a HeadWay theme.

Take a look please and let me know if you know what the problem is: http://anemarie-o.com/2010-2/

Thank you.

Font display issues are always caused by the font file itself. The plugin is able to select the font to be used, but cannot control the quality of the display, since the quality is inherit to the font file itself.

It is possible that your Headway theme is imposing some extra styles on the text that is causing the font to appear distorted. Which elements are your site are you changing the font of?

Default-user svinaweb replied

Yes, that could be so. I will try and remove all other styles through the editor and then let you know.

The file should be fine, so it’s probably due to the Headway theme.

I changed the headers and the body font through your plugin.

Let me know if you have any other idea and I’ll let you know if I fixed it. Thank you!

Another thing that is worth while to try is testing another font file. If it displays fine, then you know it was the file. if it is also distorted, then it is most likely because of something in the theme.
