You guys are nuts. Sorry – I’m busy. This is a five-dollar item.

The code works. I know it works, because the demo page is based on it, and the demo page works fine.

None of Facebook’s changes have broken the Easy FB stuff. Facebook is moving away from FBML for canvas apps, but it’s still very much supported on external sites, via the JavaScript SDK , which is what Easy FB does for you.

That is exactly what I mentioned here earlier…

if your looking for a SOLID script with a RELIABLE developer, here you go… http://codecanyon.net/item/facebook-pages-viewer/303926

At least this other developer answers his emails more than…EVERY 4 months.

Hello. I wanted to ask why not work with google chrome automatic closing popup login. thank you very much

Probably because you’re doing the login when the page loads, vs. a click event.

Whenever you’re doing something that pops up a window, you should do it in response to a click event; otherwise, a browser’s popup blocker will catch it.

See the Best Practices section under http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/javascript/FB.login/

Was going to purchase this, but after reading the negative comments, I’ll give it a miss.

Man, give the guy a break, he does not owe you the world for 5 bucks and for that price you should really figure it out yourself! The Facebook API is massively documented all over the web!

Important: With Facebook’s increasing adoption of OAuth, the “perms” parameter must be changed to “scope”—or Login will NOT work!

Before:
<fb:login-button perms="user_status,status_update"></fb:login-button>
After:
<fb:login-button scope="user_status,status_update"></fb:login-button>

Hi Tim – Great script. Just need to get it working. I uploaded the files, and added code to file. However, I can’t get the log in button to work. I edited as much as I could when I created the app. I do not see where though to edit the following on facebook:

Under the Canvas tab, set the Canvas Callback URL and the Post-Authorize Redirect URL to your web page’s base URL . Example: http://www.opendining.net/ The trailing slash is required. Under the Connect tab, set the Connect URL to the same URL supplied in step 3.
  • Also, below is the only code inside of the config file:

<?php

// Configuration: // Set these two variables to your Facebook App’s ID and Secret. // // You need to define your app’s Post-Authorize Redirect URL // and Facebook Connect URL also. // // This is all explained in further detail in the Easy Facebook documentation.

define(‘FACEBOOK_APP_ID’, ‘Enter your Facebook Application ID here’); define(‘FACEBOOK_SECRET’, ‘Enter your Facebook Secret here’);

Hi,

I downloaded the item and tested the full-example.php on my server. It does not work properly. When I log in, it finds my photo in the comments section of the example, but after clicking the log in button it does not switch to the user data like it says it will and does on the live preview. This is the same issue I have when I write my own code using this script. $user_data is always null, even after a successful login.

You people are crazy more than likely none of you know how to work with php, and have no knowledge of web programming.

all you guys expect is copy and paste, this script is simple and gets the job done for 5 bucks saves you a lot of time of having to code it all yourself.

if you have no knowledge programming and expect to get support, have some one do it for you pay more than 5 bucks.. how bout 400 a company would do it :D
