Love the idea, when do you expect Twitter/Facebook integration? It’s the one thing I’d like to see if I were to purchase this plugin.

It would be great if you could schedule tweets/status updates and also have new posts auto-published on Twitter/Facebook.

This functionality is in my plans. I thought to implement activity updates scheduling, after that – to twitter and facebook.

I tried the forum autopost and it does not work for my site.

You have this written but I don’t know what you mean.

“The actual publishing time will vary and depends on number of visitors of your site and the Core Precision settings.”

How can I schedule something when I can’t be sure of when it will be published?

slaFFik

If you have 0 users (or rather pageviews) on a site – the WordPress won’t know when to publish (that’s WP-Cron way). When the first user will come – the user will already see this post.

Use case:
You can plan to post on Dec 20th 2012 @ 20:00.
Dec 18th – noone will see the topic.
Dec 19th – noone will see the topic.
Dec 20th @ 15:00 – no one will see the topic.
Dec 20th @ 19:55 – no one will see the topic.
Dec 20th @ 20:00 – the first person that will open your site will see this post. If this action will be fired on 20:30 ( so no users at all in time period 20:00 – 20:30) – the post will be published on 20:30.

Do you understand how it works now?

Ok, I understand that it won’t be published before the date. :)

And I understand that it should be seen by the first person coming to the site after the scheduled date/time. :)

The problem is it isn’t working for me. I have my Buddypress installed in a multi-site install and the Buddypress site is not the first default site, it’s one of the others.

Will this be a problem for the plugin?

slaFFik

It should not be the problem (as I tested similar scenario).

What about caching on your site?

Interesting… Is this cron-jobs script needs special server requirements?

slaFFik

No! :)

It will work out of the box using the full power of WordPress and BuddyPress.

Did you update for activity streams? Saw you mention that and have been waiting fori t ;)

slaFFik

Yeah, it’s still in plans.

Will this work on 1.8?

Thanks

slaFFik

Yes, sure. When BP 1.8 will be released I will test my plugins and update them as well.

Hey Slaffik!

When can we expect autoposting to the Activity Stream? That would make me buy it instantly.

Cheers, Aron

Unfortunately, I see very little interest in this plugin, so not sure that I will develop it further. There is a possibility that I will even remove the plugin from Codecanyon and move it to own site – ovirium.com. Or even make it free, not sure with the plans now.

Hi there I am trying to get my head around this plugin- I want to schedule a topic so that when it is published whoever is in that group gets notified by email (which this plugin should do- but I’ve been using BuddyPress Group Email Subscription as well). This would hopefully help me schedule tasks or events as topics and then email me to remind myself to do them.

I understand from a comment here by oakland that it only updates the chron if there is a user on the website- does this mean it won’t publish the topic if there is no visitor on the site at the time of schedule or are you ok as long as there are registered users? Please explain sorry I am not familiar with Cron :) As I want to use the scheduled topics for a private portal / task manager I’m not sure if it will work.

P-S I think there is interest in this sort of plugin and I have not found a topic schedule plugin for buddypress before this one. http://buddypress.org/support/topic/anyone-tried-or-seen-this-plugin-yet-schedule-content/

Hello and thanks for purchasing.

The plugin won’t publish until the any user opens your site. The published item will be on the date you defined, and not the time the user opened the site.

Thanks – great plugin. I need to make a small change – please can you tell me how to change the sender email address from the admin user’s address? I’m using SMTP (WP Mail SMTP plugin by Callum Macdonald) to send outgoing email, but your plugin defaults to WP Mail.

Thanks.

slaFFik

Not yet, sorry.

slaFFik

Just sent to review the v1.4 – which uses wp_mail(). You will be notified, when the new version will be approved.

Great, thanks very much slaFFik!
