If you find someone who can do anything close to this with director and I’ll set your commission rate to 200%. :D http://unity3d.com/gallery/live-demos/index.html#bootcamp
You would be surprised what you can do with director. I have seen similar games to that made with director, but not quite as nice looking.
I’ve never seen anything that even lives in the same world as the one I linked to. If something like that exists, I’d love to see it.

PS, we’ll never sell director on AD. :)

I haven’t used any of them actually :D. But the results seem pretty similar. They’re both browser based, and both of them can do some really cool things. So I take it that Director is a lot more complicated than Unity?

By the way, make sure you wait through all the preloading (it’s a little confusing as to whether the helicopter is it or not) and play the game.

Yeah that’s really crazy. I;ve seen some pretty cool gams on miniclip made with Director (that’s how I found out about Director actually :D ), but they weren’t close to this. Still, some of them were pretty cool.

there is a halo type game engine for director, I can find the link now, which is one of the problems with Director – its really hard to find anything.

For my uni course we had to do a few projects in director, its really powerful, but lingo is insane.

Haha, it’s like asking “Why Flash maybe we should go with JavaFX?” :))

You’re referring to this maybe: http://www.adobe.com/products/director/3d_game_programming/

Unity3D isn’t just an excellent piece of tech. Its power lies in its intuitive workflow. You really need to open the editor and see how easy it is to import assets, combine them with prefabs, and setup the entire project for publishing.

Plus, the documentation is a real life saver, with tons of official and community help.

Adobe could learn from unity how to setup the workflow in an application. :) (can’t lose an opportunity to bash on adobe :) )
