I’m working on my 3rd attempt at submitting a wp theme. It’s so frustrating to get rejected on little things. My comments section doesn’t h have the WOW factor, so i get rejected. WTF ! Few themes have WOW comments, so why am i getting picked on? Anyway…

... the point of the post is to see if anyone, or who gets their themes accepted the first time. It seems impossible, but i’m curious. :)

Your reviewer just hates you. ;) Kidding, but like kr3wsk8a said, create a thread and ask for some help.

...so why am i getting picked on? ...

I know it can certainly feel like you’re being picked on, but believe me when I say that you most certainly aren’t. In fact, I feel like a jerk when I have to reject a template several times but if I don’t and it doesn’t meet our criteria then I’m also not doing my job. It’s purely business and none of the reviewers here pick on anyone.

Sometimes it just comes down to having a fresh set of eyes take a look at the design, theme or template. Other people will notice things that you might not have after you’ve been working on it for awhile.

To answer your question, yes, authors do get themes accepted the first time through but the reviewers can tell who has gone the extra mile to really make their work top notch. ThemeForest is a marketplace for premium designs, templates and themes so we’re always looking for those really top notch items and trying to help improve others to get them to fulfill more of their potential. :)

I’ll definitely ask for help if my next upload is rejected. But i get the feeling that a lot of people hate those kinds of posts. I think there should be a forum section devoted to them.

About my last rejected template… when i designed the comments, i first researched at what other people were doing with their comments. Most are fairly generic. I thought mine went above and beyond what others were doing, so i was very surprised to get that comment.

The bright side of it is that the reviewer is picking apart the details, so hopefully he thinks the overall design is good.

If i get rejected again, can i request for someone else to review it, like you, xmdsys? :)

Some of the forum members do feel that there has been a few too many threads requesting help/opinions. That isn’t so much the problem as much as there hasn’t been enough threads talking about other, more “fun”, subjects.

You are certainly welcome to request a different reviewer but keep in mind that reviewers sometimes collaborate on a submission so that we can come to more of a group decision when we aren’t sure or when someone disagrees with one of the reviewers. Instead of asking for another reviewer you might simply request an additional opinion on your submission.

I hope this helps! :)

Is there any way we can see your template to get an idea why it is getting rejected?

Hi John, I am not asking for a WOW factor but at least something looks organized and professional. WOW factor only required for PSD Template :) I hope I’ve make this clear.

I’m curious about your theme (especially the comment area and why it was rejected for that). If it’s possible, please post the live demo here.
