Hi, I just created an account here on CodeCanyon and hope to create some scripts. As I was browsing through the popular scripts to see what’s hot and what’s not, something occurred to me…
It would be really helpful to have a section on the site that would display the top 10-30 or so search phrases that visitors search for. Something like: Last month’s most popular searches! It would give us some ideas on what kind of scripts people are looking for.
Thanks
Then we’d have 50+ people making the exact same script at the same time.

Competition makes better items.

I do see your point. It could potentially create quite a bit of extra work on CodeCanyon’s part because ultimately they would have to decide which ones of the 50 would qualify. This could also create some discontent among developers.
On the long run however, the benefits would outweigh the challenges. Products would be much higher quality, creativity would really play a bigger role and the number of quality products would skyrocket.
That’s why we call it the “Free Market” principle. Demand = Customer, Supply = Developer.

scottwllms saidNot complaining but then the reviewers would have to deal with 45+ developers who complain that their items were just as good as the approved items.

Doesn’t really matter, this would be great! I’d love to have some stats on what buyers search for, competition is the key to innovation. May the best author win!
